Also are there any downsides in unlocking the bootloader? Can everything be reverted later on? If warranty is temporarily void, can it be restored later?
Alot of doubts and questions but I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me. Thankyou!
Technically,
when you unlock the bootloader, it's not gonna be under warranty anymore. So basically it is like you unlocked the bootloader, flashed as many roms/kernels you could and than when your mind is set to again use MIUI and get the warranty, you flash latest MIUI and relock the bootloader.

Hey guys. I am having troubles with my phones ear piece so I need to take it in for warranty but I am wondering if I need to flash the Stock Bell ROM before I hand it in. Is this needed? Will it VOID my warranty if I have a costum ROM installed....
Please help..
Thanks
Yes it will void your warranty...
Sent from my G2 running Cyanogenmod 7.
You will need to flash the stock ROM, S-On, unroot. Otherwise they will know the second they go into bootloader that you are rooted and S-Off, which voids your warranty. They will be looking for any reason to charge you for the repair. So any sign of root or a custom ROM will be bad news for you.
Instructions for returning to stock are here:

Does HTC honor the warranty on N1 if I send it in with CM7 rom on it? Or do I have to re-install the original?
If its unlocked bootloader I don't believe so
I would restore it to stock just so it's not taking the piss. Unlocked bootloaders don't seem to worry them though.
Hello,
Lately I've seen a few ROMs in the Android Development section that claim they have completely removed Samsung KNOX (for example, Arrow ROM 9.0.0).
My question is, does it still upgrade the bootloader to the new one that has the 0x1 flag? What are the risks if it does upgrade the bootloader but the Knox apps are removed from the device?
Thanks a lot, I'm looking forward for an answer to make this clear for me.
No custom roms include a bootloader, therefore no custom rom wil upgrade your bootloader.
Only stock roms update the bootloader.

Hi guys I have rooted my phone and unlocked bl and layers installed nothing else how can I relock my bootloader?
see previous post here
and as i said in the other thread, that will not give your warranty back.
Does having the bootloader unlocked after rooting and installing a new ROM serve any purpose?
Will it cause problems if I wanted to change ROMs?
PS: TWRP is already flashed.
