Can I install x compact f5321 global stock rom 34.4.A.2.118 on Xperia x compact docomo so-02j
If yes then what will be disadvantage of flashing a global rom on so-02j...
And will I be able to revert back to so-02j's stock 34.4.B.1.129
As I mentioned above, I don't think you can do that. It seems to be an entirely different listing in XperiFirm. I once had the same phone and had to sell it on, I think for that very reason. But it's been a while.

Hi All,
Where can I get the totally stock Sony Xperia Z 4.2.2 ROM from if I want the default Sony Xperience?
Mine has been customised by my carrier so I have no idea when I will get the latest update with it and I dont want to sit around waiting for them for ages.
A quick check with show you this:

Not sure whether you can flash this if your phone is locked by carrier
Yours is C6602, or C6603? Ether ways there are plenty of stock roms for each.
I created a Website to gather FTF for Japanese version Xperia since Japanese models generally doesn't have xda thread or other websites to share FTF.
http://ftf.xn--l8je9byecb9a3syb.xn--q9jyb4c/
At the moment there are only few models and versions since I couldn't find others...
If someone has FTF not listed on the Website, please post here.
I'll add it on the Website.
Devices on the Website (7/31):
Xperia acro IS11S
Xperia SX SO-05D
Xperia VL SOL21
Xperia Z SO-02E
Xperia UL SOL22
Xperia Tablet Z SO-03E
Xperia A SO-04E
Xperia Z1 SO-01F
Xperia Z1 SOL23
Xperia Z Ultra SOL24
Xperia Z1 f SO-02F
Xperia Z2 SO-03F
Xperia A2 SO-04F
Xperia ZL2 SOL25
thank you so much ! this is helpful site
Incredibly appreciated! Hopefully some of the international exploits will be found to be effective on these firmwares as well. Following the 2ch threads on root, and it seems like the biggest breakthrough has still been the restoration of DRM functions after unlock, but no actual root with a locked bootloader yet.
If we could just get that TA partition backup we'd be in the clear to flash...
That's a very neat site! ありがとう!
thank you so much ! for sol25 zl2
cross flashing

If you want the system apps you can flash only the system portion of the ftf file. If you want the kernel, you'll brick your phone.

You can flash Lollipop firmware for D5503 on your device. I also have a Japanese phone that is running a US Lollipop ROM (.236).

can anybody tell me how to flash without relocking baseband?
Cool I flashed my Xperia SX with newer firmware downloaded from your pages and now my phone is docomo-locked. What can I do?
Why you put the firmware on google drive? Do you know hard for me to download it? I lose 5gb mobile data, suck google no pause resume for that and always failed if download reach 2-2,5gb so sad.

Compiled this one after debranding all the Telstra rubbish from my Z1c
(I think that damn captcha is harder than flashing the rom)
Thanks heaps. This is the 1st Australian ROM I've seen for the compact. Plenty for the Z1 but not the compact.
How did you get 14.4.A.0.108 for a telstra branded phone? I just plugged my phone into my PC to check and it is still telling me 14.3.A.0.757 is the up to date version for my Telstra branded phone.
Are the Z1 and Z1c roms any different? I don't have one to check.
I downloaded it through the Flashtool program. Written a tutorial here if you ever need to get the software yourself.
Nice write ups.
For all intents and purposes the Z1 and Z1 compact firmwares are the same. I think I remember seeing a guide here for converting Z1 firmwares for use on the compact. It wasn't as simple as just flashing the Z1 firmware unfortunately.
Based on your OP I thought you'd received the Telstra branded firmware and then used root privileges to delete all their crap before making a ftf backup. However, having read your seperate write up I'm guessing the generic file was downloaded using flashtool and the ftf made from that?

Yeah that captcha is painful but it goes away once you reach 10 posts
Yep that's right!
i had the telstra firmware before on my z1c but after rooting it and updated it with sony companion soft, it just automatically given me the generic fw after that which is nice!
Hello,
Does anyone know where I would be able to get any (Customized DE) Stock ROM for the Xperia X Compact (F5321)? I found the site xperiafirmware.com but they only offer the CE Version. I also tried to download and unpack the German Version with XperiFirm. But I couldn't manage to bundle the files with Flashtool, since there was no Xperia X Compact to select from the Devices Menu. And I also didn't know which files exactly to include and which not. Also what about the files in the "boot" folder, should they be included? I also can't upgrade the Phone via the "Emma" Flash Tool from Sony either, because the phone isn't recognized by it.
So the simplest solution would be to just be able to get the Stock ROM ftf File from somewhere or someone and flash it via the Xperia (non official) Flashtool.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
Simon
You have to close all windows except main flashtool after downloading. Then file will be created. Do you need nougat or marshmallow?
Since there is no operating system currently installed on the phone and the update from Marshmallow to Nougat failed. I guess Marshmallow would be the best option to recover the phone.
And even if I close all windows, I still can't select the Xperia X Compact in the Flashtool Devices Menu.
Which version do you use? Here you can download latest MM ftf.

Thanks a lot for the Link. Sorry for my late response but I was very busy lately. It all worked out well.

Hey guys, I just ordered a cheap Japanese version of the X Compact, with model number SO-02J. Will I be able to use F5321 ROMs with it? It seems like I should be able to since they appear to be the exact same phone...but I'm not sure. If not, is it possible to root the Japanese version?
Thanks.
I seem to remember that the Japanese version of the phone required different firmware, that firmware versions produced for F5321 were not compatible. It's an entirely separate listing in XperiFirm.
But once I had a z3 compact so-02g. And I installed a global firmware on it successfully. What was missing in it the NFC driver which was causing a rapid ? drain. Otherwise worked well and I was thinking the same will happen again in xperia x compact case. Because you're trying to download rom from xperifirm but I'll download global rom from www.xperiablog.net and will select xperia x compact f5321 range.
The main reason for asking the question was that you can't download x compact SO-02j's oreo and nougat roms because you only can implement them by OTA. You only can download marshmallow and to upgrade the phone through OTA to nougat or oreo you'll required a nikimisi japan wifi NETWORK. Which won't be available in our region and in the result you may brick your device or restricted to 6.0.1 mm Japan rom.
I thought if someone already did the trick and I could take advantage from that experience.
I'm thinking to do this by myself and I'll let you know about my experience...
For a long long time I haven't bricked any of my device let's see what happens now...
Good luck; you seem to know what you're doing. I've never flashed individual components or "mixed and matched" myself, so I admire your bravery!
Can i convert or clone my current running stock rom (factory installed) to .ftf rom?
Thanks for the info...will get the phone tomorrow and see if what works and doesn't work....will report back here.
Do you have a Japanese X compact yourself?
Yes I got a Japanese SO-02J X compact.
But planning to flash it with global version rom.
Downloaded both roms a Russian generic of f5321 and so-02j nougat. Just in case if f5321's doesn't work will revert back it to so-02j stock nougat.
Will goto home for this experiment, still outside.

Well, looks like mine is "unlock bootloader allowed: no" so I won't be able to do any modding with this device. Oh well, it's still pretty cool. Has anyone managed to get oreo on this thing outside of Japan? I think the OTA update can only be downloaded in Japan....

No i didn't try that because i sold the phone... I was in search of a "boot loader unlock allowed: yes" phone and now happy with Sony Z3 D6603.
Unlocked it's boot loader and flashed it with carbon cr8 (android Q) an excellent and perfect ROM. Enjoying my phone...
