Excuse me, but pie is running fine, perhaps try to reset the phone with formatting the cache. Did you update to the November patch N935f??

It's running fine agreed but not as good as it was on Oreo...
Yeah I've done everything, I'm getting around 3.5 hours of sot too which is great but I just don't like pie.
And I haven't updated to the November patch yet. Is there any improvement with the patch?

Battery life is not the problem here it's the overall experience with pie that I think doesn't suit the Fe. How I dread updating it. Both my Note 8 and 9 are on Oreo... Thankfully and I ain't updating them... No way

I don't see what's so great about oreo in FE. I feel the changes in pie made the interface more easy to use and practical. But don't you just flash the official oreo from sammobile?? Samsung isn't like apple that verifies firmwares, or have things changed?!

Oreo was better with battery and the overall experience for the phone was better. For me at least.
I've tried flashing Oreo but yes Samsung does sign the firmware so once you update a particular boot version it's impossible to go back. You can but you'll end up losing signals and Wi-Fi.
Which is why it's useless to downgrade. I'm still looking for a way but the closest is to lose Wi-Fi and phone signals.
I'm using my 8 until I find a solution but miss the Fe

Hi guys, i was googling about Android O for Honor 8 information (because i want to hope that Honor keep their promises), and my searching lead me to this website with some info about EMUI 5.1 instead. They say that this list (i will attach it below) is confirmed by Honor but i can't tell you if that's true...however, if it is we're going to get EMUI 5.1 and still on Nougat (so probably no Android O). What do you think? Can we trust that we'll miss O and get 5.1? We'll get both? Or miss both? Feel free to share your toughts.
We will miss both ?
Sent from my FRD-L04 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
We will get none, they want to sell more of the new phones, thus force obsoleted Honor 8s
They can't even provide timely updates for the Android security patches so how are we to expect to receive Android O? EMUI 5.1 I couldn't care less about. EMUI 5 is fine (nothing more) as long as you use a custom launcher.

EMUI 5 & 5.1 are almost same. EMUI 6 will be android O and Huawei has promised to keep us updated for 2years at least. & btw we got the android N update before other phones

I just found those info on the web as i sad in the op, however in my opinion every update wich aims to enhance the user experience and the overall use of a phone is always welcome. In this case i'd prefer Android O, but apart this anything else useful is welcome too. I agree with the fact that they didn't provide monthly security patches (that's bad) but it's an Honor fault as on the Huawei side the old P8 is still receiving security patches...but i'm new to Huawei/Honor so i'll trust users who own their devices since more time than me... Finally Honor promised 24 months of updates... we just have to hope for the best. The H8 is a very good phone, i'm very satisfied with it, would really be a shame if the software side (i mean frequent/qualitative updates) can't be as good as the hardware side
Just received B340 update weighing about 340MB which fixes Jio VoLTE calls and bumps the Security patch to July 5. Still no 7.1 though. Hope Huawei updates this to atleast O before abandoning this awesome phone. To give a thought, I recently purchased dual Sim LG G6 which was comparatively laggy and not as smooth as Honor 8 and had March Sec. Update. And I didnt received a single update till the time I had it with me.

Ho , B340 ?
There is a new system update from B340 to B350, seems like
Google and stability issues fixed (Android security patch level: September)
Update.zip : Google drive
I updated to this build a week ago and this update really sucks for many honor 8 FrD L02 users. Occasional hanging and heating of phone occurs after this update.

Yes, I too got the update yesterday. Before applying this, I thought to check in forums to get a feedback. But, could find anywhere about this update. So, went ahead and applied. It has been just a day. So far, I do not see any improvement or change.
When I was on B340, I faced high battery drain during idle period. Even after this update, I see similar trend.

you can do with out doing unlocking the boot-loader , use the rollback package to EMUI 4.1 and then update to latest EMUI 5.0 , this is safest method and still you will get warranty when you stuck at middle.:fingers-crossed:

Once you get the notification for system update on your phone, it will automatically be available on Hisuite.
Make sure to back up user data before flashing any update as you may need to manually perform a factory reset before using the new update. I own an FRD-L14 US version and i am on the latest update for my model thanks to Huawei Pc suite. All other methods always fail after 5 - 10%.
To update using Hisuite, simply launch the PC software and click on update after properly connecting your phone. I have been referring to only the PC version as i can't vouch for the phone software.
NB: Don't forget to flash stock boot and recovery if you've modified your device prior to using Hisuite otherwise it'll fail after reboot to recovery.
Best of luck, Cheers!

thanks for awesome guide i will definetly try this:good::highfive:
You will get the OTA some weeks later. Until then, you will not be able to flash the update through any official means (like using HiSuite, TWRP, erecovery, etc.). If your bootloader is unlocked, try my "Flashing unapproved Firmwares" guide for Honor 8 in Guides section. It will work flawlessly.
Did anyone already successfully manage to install e.g FRD-L19C432B399 ?

sorry about the late reply, but yes 12hr battery global. for screen on time i get 4-5hrs usually, i just got this phone a few months ago as a FRD-L04. i rebranded because of how slow updates come out on the L04, which was my real only complaint with this phone. battery life is awesome and emui is sleek and nice compared to other OEM android roms.
i don't really care for much about SOT because my whole goal is to minimize that as much as possible. i use a moto 360 daily so most of my notifications are going to my watch and my phone stays in my pocket.
other than that, this update is just a security patch.

You have to be on the listed firmware. Cannot be on anything but what they posted. I downloaded mine from updato just use Sprint XAS. It will reinstall Verizon bloat on first boot. Also install nougat and before rebooting it will take you to recover just install the Oreo beta then before setting up the device.
Does this by chance have wifi tethering unlocked in beta??
I wonder if there is a way to root the beta yet
Just to be clear, this has been tested on the Verizon G950U? Very cautious when dealing with Verizon Samsung devices that don't have unlocked bootloaders... Thanks in advance.
Yes I personally did beta 1 on my own device and successfully flashed back when I was done testing.
Beta 4 is now available. Buttery smooth and good battery life. Only glitch I am seeing if fast charging is hit or miss.

You have Orea beta 4 on Verizon? What is the build number? How did you do it? With the latest update I am now on bootloader 2 so I don't think you can do it like originally posted.
I believe you can still get to it. What update are you on with your phone? I was on I believe Verizon's latest and still flashed back to the OP then to AJC and then ZQKM.

The latest firmware is a 2 bootloader so I don't think you can go back--2BQK5
Go into download mode and look at the bootloader line if it says B2. We might have to look into a different method.

It does.
I hate the Oreo update. I'm on Telus in Canada with Snapdragon and I was wondering if I would be able to downgrade back to nougat G950WVLU2AQK7 with Odin safely without a brick.

Hey buddy, do you mind telling me what do you hate about the update?
Is it buggy?
I have a friend that wanted to update to Oreo on a Telus s8 but I told him about your post and he hesitated.
But, I wish you good luck finding a way to downgrade.

No mods and u didn't root right? No package disabled or anything?
I heard performance improved on oreo compared to nougat, can you verify that for us?
