Rules appear in settings magically - Google Pixel 2 XL Guides, News, & Discussion

Finally saw the rules option in system settings. Still exploring the feature.
Anyone else got it?

Pretty basic though. I wish it was more innovative. I don't think so i will use them as such

I agree.
I set a rule to activate ring mode when connected to my home wifi but everytime I disconnect from it phone returns to vibration mode. Unwanted behavior.

You can now automate your phone's setting using the 'Rules' feature on your Pixel https://www.androidcentral.com/you-...phones-setting-using-rules-feature-your-pixel

Had this for a few days. I have a few rules set up, but I hope Google expands on the capabilities.

Samsung TechTile NFC Tags

So my local Sprint store had some Samsung "TechTile" NFC tags to use with their app. So I bought some (15$ for 5 tags) and took them home, and immediatley erased them via nfc app on my phone, and reprogrammed them with the same app and it works like a charm. The thing that bugs me about the phone is having to unlock the home screen to scan NFC tags. which sucks but oh well.
Have you checked out the nfc screen off mods? Not sure if it works on the US Variant but check out the thread over at the S3 boards.

No, it borks my NFC completely...although it wouldn't be hard to adapt to our phones, as its just adjusting the power settings for nfc...

I got my 5 pack from tags for droids. Was about $10 bucks.
amazon everything lol
what are the offbrand ones called on amazon? do they program/work in the same way?
just type in nfc tags...i forget the brand but theres only like 2 choices. To answer your other question I think you just need an nfc programmer app

So, anytime you wanna charge the phone, it would open Maps and you would have to close the Maps?
More like you can tag it to turn on Bluetooth when you get in the car and turn it off when you get out. Or turn on wifi when you get home by scanning a tag on your front door.

Pardon me, but none of those activities are practical.
I'd like to turn on and off wifi when I enter and leave my home. But a Tasker script would be better.

that's up to you then....i have many uses for this personally
To set your Alarm and make sure the volume is up, when you set your phone on your night stand is a very good idea. No effort and you'll always be good to go. We are human!

I'm sure that's what happened but when I install this it removes the touch less control option from the settings screen, but also won't show the voice app.
Here's some screenshots to show you what's going on..

Yes battery works nicely than any other firmware,if you optimized apps well.
Yeah, it certainly may last for more than a week in always-on-mode. I've never seen a phone like this;; looks far better optimized than Xiaomi's. Great! :good:
::Sorry, half a week.

No, It's not. It's said it's still a good phone.
Yeah, what I meant by always-on-mode is extremely power-saving mode, the blank screen except a clock maybe. No processors on-going background is still not enough for most of the smart phones to last for couple of days. So pls don't feel sarcastic. :victory: Maybe I am talking too much on your forum???

You can uninstall most of app from flyme from settings. Some of them that we can count in fingers can be moved to a folder and never open it in future. Or else you can unistall those apps with root.

What did you do? Because, if you root the phone, you lose OTA updates, if you choose to put those remaining apps in a folder, can we freeze/stop them so they cannot work in background without using an app?
