Google's real-time speech recognition offline feature for Mclaren - OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Questions & Answers

Is there a Pixel port of this feature?
Allowing you to use Google's real-time speech recognition AI can run offline like in Gboard's voice input? I've provided a reference link below.

Developing Google map API

Hi every one,
I'm trying to add a Google map in my app that I'm working on,
I found a sample app but it's just receive an image for the current position that I'm getting it from the GPS radio and send it in an URL to Google map web serves then show it in an ImageBox,
but my need in my app is a map that I can move it by my finger very easy like the one inside the officially Google map app or in some of the site using there API you can move it by the mouse .
so I searched about this topic to find any some samples or tutorials but no luck,,, any helps please ?
I don't know if JavaScript is the solution or not ?? if yes, any idea how I can write a JavaScript code inside C# class, as I never worked with JavaScript before?
Thanks
Whilst not 100% relevant but it should help, there's a video on msdn about how to integrate virtual earth maps into a picturebox
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/dd920289.aspx
I'm guessing the methods are pretty similar but you just use the google maps api.
Let me know if it helps because I'm thinking about writing an app which uses google maps for a visual golf gps rangefinder.
Yes I watched that video before and I tried the app it's works fine,
but for some resigns I need to use Google map and the visual earth it's doesn't support some country maps unlike google .
but I have a sample code written using static Google map API which is just retrieve the image you request by using the GPS position BUT I need the map to be interactive with the user so he can move it around with out depending on the GPS location

[Q] Are there any libraries for trained voice recognition?

I am working on an Android app with speech recognition. The program needs to have continuous speech recognition. The speech library only needs to be about 10-15 words/Phrases.
I have experimented with Google Now's Speech API, but it doesn't give good results with thick non-native accents. (The App will be used by non-english speakers in Southern India).
I was thinking that if my App could be trained, the problem would be easier. By this I mean, that in the beginning, the user can go to a special Activity where he will be shown a word by the app, and the user has to say it. This can be done multiple times for each phrase/word. Once the training of the App is complete, The user will take the device, and go on his inspection rounds. Once he reaches the inspection point, he will just say the status of the object: Example: 'Good', 'Bad', 'Needs Maintenance' etc. The App will record the status, along with the position and time, and send it to the server.
Right now my App does all this, excluding the Voice component.
I was wondering if there are any existing Libraries or projects that I could use. Is it possible to use java's speech recognition library, or is there any other way of going about this?

Master list of apps safe to debloat?

For each phone that comes out, someone typically puts together a list of apps that are safe to freeze or disable... I don't like removing apps, because of the issues with taking future OTA's.
I am stock, unrooted and have no real interest in rooting this phone. I plan to keep it stock, but with Nova Prime and disabling all the junk that we don't really need in the App Manager.
Is there such a list for this phone?
I disabled all the usual suspects, but this phone has a lot of new stuff that I don't recognize...
EDIT: Based on my findings and what others post, I will update the list below of what seems to be fine to disable through the app manager. If I notice anything wonky happening, I will enable it and remove it from the list. There are things on this list that you might want to use, this is just to show you what you CAN safely disable without root or a rom.

Some suggestions for newbees...
Keep the following services running. It's not too likely you'll ever need them - but just in case.
Example: "S Voice". Most users dislike it, it's not very capable. BUT: If you wish to use the "always listening" feature of Google Now (activate by saying "Ok Google" even if Google Now is not running in the foreground of the screen is off), you'll need it because S Voice handles (or better: tries to handle) the voice recognition if the screen is off.
ant radio service (you'll need that if you wish to connect ANT+ enabled sports devices)
ant+ plugin service (same here)
drive (google drive)
galaxy apps (sometimes used for downloading better text-to-speech applications; the stock TTS is a horror)
google+ (COULD interfere with your YouTube experience if removed)
mobileprintsvc_cups (don't know exactly what it does; maybe there's more than just enabling mobile printing)
mobileprintsvc_cups_backend
phase beam
print spooler
s voice
samsung account (sames as with galaxy apps)
samsung link platform (don't know what it exactly does)
samsung link platform connectivity (same here)
samsung print service plugin (same here)
sapa monitor (same here)
tags (same here)
Updated the list in the OP. So far everything is working fine.
Google Now works from the locked lock screen, but it doesn't work with the screen turned off. I guess that is where S-Voice comes in, possibly. But S-Voice is known to create a goof bit of lag on a lot of devices, so I just turn that off as a matter of habit, as Google Now does 99% of what I need. But YMMV.
An Update of removable/freezable apps would be very nice
regards

A bug you probably didn't even know you had - Trusted voice disabling itself.

https://9to5google.com/2017/02/02/google-smart-lock-trusted-voice-pixel-fix/
Smart Lock is one of Android’s most underrated features and makes security less of a hassle. However, a recent bug keeps automatically disabling the ‘Trusted voice’ option, thus making “Ok Google” slightly less convenient. Fortunately, a fix has now been identified and is rolling out soon.
Trusted voice allows the “Ok Google” hotword to act as a password to unlock your device. It works by seeing if the uttered phrase at the start of a command matches your previously trained voice model. This is particularly useful when asking Google to perform a voice command that has a visual element, like surfacing images or getting directions.
In the past few months, several users on multiple devices have reported that the Trusted voice toggle located in settings of the Google app keeps turning off automatically. Even after re-enabling, the toggle would later be disabled. As such, getting the result of a voice command would require that users first enter a password.
Fortunately, a Google employee in the Pixel User Community notes that “the team has identified a fix, and it will be implemented soon.”Anecdotally, I have found that with the latest Google app beta (version 6.12), the Trusted voice toggle always stays enabled.
In the mean time, the following workaround should work until the patch is rolled out:
Go to Google app -> setting -> Accounts & privacy -> Google activity controls -> Voice & Audio Activity -> make sure it’s set to “on”
Ensure this setting is “on” for all accounts on the device

This is the most shameless self promotion of a crappy blog I've seen in awhile.
The whole article is about a miniscule bug about a feature that should NOT be used if you are interested in any sort of security. So claiming it makes security less of a hassle is idiotic when you can record the owner saying OK Google and unlock their phone.

Voice assistant

Hello.I have p9 lite vns-l31 with lineage os 14.1 installed. My question is : is there anything for android like siri on ios.And i know there are a lot of assistants but i need one which can be activated when the phone is locked by voice, for example when im driving and want to call someone or send a text
Well of course your best bet is the Google Assistant. It is the only one that is truly integrated in the system and the Google apps.
All that you have listed is basically possible with the Google Assistant.
However, your point with the locked device is a question of hardware, not software!
In order to activate the Assistant by saying a hotword while the device is LOCKED requires a phone with a special microphone.
Such device have low consumption microphones.
You could compare it to the Double Tap to Wake function: most device do not support it because they do not have the proper kernel / touchscreen for it.
A device that allows you to activate a voice command while locked always has to listen to its surroundings. While it is possible with modification to enable it on most devices, it will definitely consume a lot of battery on devices that are not built for this function.
Therefore, the Google Assistant is "Google's Siri" and works very well as long as you manually activate your screen first. There are tutorials out there on how to enable "OK, Google" recognition on locked devices but I do not know if they work on Lin OS already.
I hope this answers your question.

The P9s have Emy, their own assistant, that works without touching it even with screen locked. It also has a "where are you" function if you yell for it.
