Are there only two of three Korean variants which are unlocked yet? Can the F800S not be unlocked later?

Are you sure that the H990DS Korean variant can be unlocked in couple of month. If H900DS can be unlocked I will buy it in Germany now. But I must be sure that it can be unlocked later.

Ok I think you adviced me the Single SIM variant for better custom ROM community here in xda?
Then I will by a Single SIM variant where it's possible to go in fastboot and fastboot command work. I think H918 T-Mobile US version is the best for custom ROM community, right? Or are other Single SIM variants if rooted as good as the H918 variant?
Anyway I will not buy the Dual SIM variant.

Single SIM is for developers ONLY
If you can wait one or two month then,
1st and best option is :
International Single SIM :
LG H990 V20 TD-LTE / H990TR
If you can not wait , then
2nd option :
H918 T-Mobile US
both can be rooted in the near future
do as you wish

The notion "wait a couple of months" is the most optimistic statement I've read on this topic. Dev's aren't big fans with LG and the ones who are, are typically working on the smaller market SINGLE sim phones like the T-mobile in the US. Root may never come along to the dual sim variant/s and that is just one of the reasons more of the "in the know" type phone users probably WON'T buy this phone. The dev community for LG dual is dead...yet I'm not sure why, this is where more of its USERS are.

Unfortunately I found this thread too late recommending against the dual sim H990DS.
I have one now and it's too late. I needed a dual sim phone as I carry a work phone and a personal phone and was tired or carrying two phone the whole time. I've had my eye on V20 for quite a while now and was excited to see it had all the specs I wanted including dual sim and MicroSD.
Does anyone think there will be a root for this device? I've always rooted my devices and for a number of reasons. Hearing that there may not be root for this model has made me reconsider my purchase.
Any idea guys?
Soon or Later LG will release unlock method for H990DS, I dont care about yet, lets Cyanogen mature on single sim V20s then move to dual Sim when Unlock is available.

Thank you for the quick reply AcostaJA. That is very reassuring.
Once I know there will be an unlock eventually I can live with that. I don't upgrade my devices very often so the idea of being stuck on stock for that duration was making me crazy.
I'm a fan of Cyanogenmod and look forward to their V20 release.

I'm not too sure where you get your optimism from. LG do not have plans to release the boot unlock for this model...

Interesting list there. The F800K shipped with an unlockable bootloader like the H918?
"Dirty Santa"'s contributions are the F800L, H910, LS997 and VS995 currently. The other V20s are likely to be cracked open soon.

My my, you dislike dual-SIM phones so badly? Currently the H99DS has a AU$2015 (roughly US$1450) bounty, but there isn't yet an organized bounty for the H990 (though there are some disorganized folks who are offering). I imagine both will get broken in the same timeframe (not much more difficult to break both at the same time than just one).

They may in fact do that. So far Dirty Santa has only been applied to 4 devices, but most of what was done is pretty general and I imagine the rest of the V20 devices will follow soon. My fear is someone in LG management will say "Hmm, that merely encouraged them, don't be so lenient this time!" and they won't do so and be a PITA.

I see the G6 H870DS HK or TW version (parallel imported goods) for about 360 USD.
Pretty good price I think, however the situation with the locked bootloader is making me apprehensive in purchasing it.
I read that the EU version can be unlocked right now via their website, but nothing with the Asian DS versions.
My question is what's LG record WRT unlocking their bootloaders? Did it happen with LG5, V10, V20 Asian versions?
Should I just purchase now and HOPE they will unlock it?

No. If you absolutely need an unlocked bootloader, don't buy the DS. It's superior to the regular G6 in every way, save the ability to root.
So i have the option to get either the Korean G600L version with 64gb ROM or the H872 version with 32gb ROM
Both phones are used and in the same price range.

Both models can't be unlocked, but I have searched and I think the H872 can at least be rooted.
If you don't care about rooting it then get the 64GB one.

I read that LG imported to Brazil the AT&T version, not the korean, with jut a Br ROM on it.
Will this flash work? need the unlocked bootloader for this ? or just LG software ?
You will save yourself some serious inconvenience by making sure it really is sim unlocked before flashing away from the AT&T rom. You can read about someone else's experience on that here:

Tnx for the link. I've received info that the phone is fully unlocked, and already tested in Brazilian carriers. The previous owner already lived here and used the phone here with no issues. Will keep reading about it nonetheless
Hi mate, I also got an AT&T from USA, (I live in Spain) and I flashed V350AWMH10a_05_TCL_MX_OP_0124.kdz ROM from mexican carrier Telcel.
I use patched LGUP, and it works fine. No unlock bootloader needed.
Also is an Oreo ROM, not Pie, but I prefer, because Pie Roms had problems with call recorders app.
I`d like to know if it`s possible to update LG V35 PLUS 128GB LMV350EAW to Android 10. This is the Brazilian version and would be great to update with the American ROM. I appreciate any help. Thank you! PS: if anyone knows where I can buy a SPIGEN LG V30 TOUGH ARMOR - GUNMETAL A25CS22000 I appreciate.
LG G7 Plus can crossflash to another model so I think the V35 should work too.
You can try cross flash to Korean market firmware, the V350N's, mine AT&T's is working under NAO firmware very well now, so I think you can do that, too.
The V350N is the only model has it's own Android Q kdz.
