Has anyone successfully gotten dark mode working on Gmail on the T-Mobile one plus pro 5g?
Oh man I feel your pain on this one. It's the only app that isn't dark for me, and it's extremely annoying. The one option you have right now is system -> developer options -> Override force-dark which makes everything dark, even gmail, but also looks a little weird in my opinion.
I had dark mode with the Galaxy S10 and the OnePlus 7T but lost it when I did the JOD upgrade to this. I'd us the force override dark mode but it makes the text on Facebook white on white and it's impossible to see.
Use swift installer to theme your apps. Works well on my 7t
Dark mode was not working for me either. However, I just rooted and started restoring my apps and some data...now it works perfectly fine. And this is the "normal" dark mode for Gmail. I did not restore the Gmail app data either. I don't know. Maybe clear the data and load it back up??
I cleared cache and data. Restarted app. Brought it back up and running again. Rebooted.
Dark mode now.
Hope this helps.
it just started working, Dark mode is now enabled for gmail.
no root, no clear cache, no clear data. nothing. just working

Yeah, something must have been turned on in the background. My horizon light also works now for everything. Not just the built-in messages app, like others have claimed.

The latest update for Messages now has the option for Dark Mode, and also the Messages For Web has a Dark Mode as well!
Awesome, just got version 3.5 with dark mode enabled
Very nice. Now just add auto mode so it's white during day and black at night.
It's awesome! But they took away the widget... That might be a deal-breaker for me. Giving it a couple days.
They also removed the option to customize conversation color bubbles. The blue on blue looks hideous.

To be fair, about 80% of the color choices were terrible.. Like, 5 year old kid crayon colors. The do need to bring back the widget and color customizing though. Just a little more, grown up for the latter
Soooo, I changed my wallpaper, and now the new look is gone. Seriously. I've force closed, cleared cache, rebooted, nothing will bring it back. What. The. Eff... Maybe it wasn't turned on correctly on the server side with this update? Anyone else have this problem? I really miss it, but I went back one version and have my widget back. Not sure which I want more...
It must be server side because now it is back to the old way
Aaaand it's gone.
Damn. I came here to see if anyone else had it switch back on them. Stupid server side sh*t. Put the changes in the apk and leave my phone alone Google ?
Same here as well. The new material design simply disappeared and reverted back to the previous layout
Yep looks like Google removed the Dark Mode on the back end.
They removed the entire new look actually. I bet they didn't mean to push out the new look with version 3.5. It would make sense as to why we had to force close to get it to show, and why it's back to the old design. Either way, dumb.
Chasing your tail Google!
It will be back, some tweaking to do apparently. That looked so good, maybe the most visually appealing change I've ever seen made to an app.

Well, here's something ugly.
The new version that previously had dark mode as an option has been changed directly from Google. It's gone.
No more dark mode.
Hey so I pretty much Installed an apk that gave me the dark mode option.
But I can confirm that It was swiftly taken away magically.
(Rooting my device could solve this . . ?)
Really upset about this actually.
It was turned off on the server side. Just have to wait for it to be enabled again.

I just now installed reinstalled textra so I'm good.
But in the grand scheme of things how to sway hireups to set black theme option default.
And its back with the latest update...for now.
I just just switched to dark theme and again This is my first oneplus so I'm still learning. my question is does the stock dialer not change to a dark mode when you switch to dark theme? It kinda bugs me that everything else is dark theme ie launcher, messages, system yet my dialer is still super bright. Is this the way it's supposed to be?
Mine dialer is dark. Did you try a reboot?
I did, then I ended up clearing cache and data. No luck! Tried reverting to light theme and colorful theme and retried dark theme again. I did reboot in between switching themes and my dialer is still the same
It bothered me enough to actually factory reset the phone ...I didn't have anything of importance since I just got it this phone. First thing I did after setting it up was go directly to using the dark theme. Works now :good:
Is there a way to enable dark mode for Facebook?

lol im sure they are prepping this for dark mode (fully white and toggle so everything goes FULLY black)
as Messenger already has dark mode and im using it
Dark mode
Here's hoping we get a true dark mode because that white is really battery draining
Wanna know what I´m doing? Using the facebook in the Samsung Browser. It´s that easy. The Samsung Browser offers a native dark mode as well - just set yourself a bookmark on your homescreen and you are done. And the good thing is: It´s even better in terms of performance and WAY less data sniffing as well

I've been doing the same since disabling Facebook app and its related bloat on my phone for a few months.
Works ok, but fb intentionally makes it not work as well as their app suprise suprise! Example, when you get notification and click it , it doesn't always take you to the post.

please update latest facebook dark mode..
Not sure if y'all are aware but you can actually "force dark mode" on basically all apps on your device in the developer options.

"force dark mode" mode makes everything look worse. you cant even read the black text on black background here and there.
Best solution for this is wait for FB to update their official dark mode to everybody. Ive heard that they are testing dark mode on some chosen people's accounts.
Guess that's just an issue for you. I haven't had any issues. My text shows white over the black background *
I've seen a few sites that Facebook and Messenger get blackened and put to download, search google or send me a private message to send you.

Does anyone else have issues with Force Dark Mode in Development Setting?
When its off colours in all apps are normal
But when its on some colours in some apps seem to invert
Screenshots
Facebook And Fluid Navigation Gestures Bubble
1 and 2 Force Dark Mode off
3 and 4 Force Dark Mode On
Yeah,
Same here a few apps don't like it, like Facebook, can't read anything when force dark mode on.

Which is strange, because i didnt have some issues until last Sunday, fluid navigation gestures was normal, Facebook was about 90% normal, there was a problem with some pictures kn posts looking like old negatives from cameras, and messenger was ok.
I haven't changed anything relating to these apps in theming.
The other nagging issue is having to go switch Force Dark Mode on after every reboot.

Hi,
I received my OP8pro today and I am missing force dark Mode from developer option on op7pro.
It has a dark Mode on Utilities , but it's not usefull, the only app to choose os WhatsApp...
Any alternative to force dark mode on apps without It?
Try in oneplus Labs options "dark mode for Apps"
That is what I said on Utilities, but you only can choose WhatsApp in my case, and WhatsApp already have dark Mode.... So it's useless.
I would like a force dark mode that turn almost every app to dark mode, like op7pro

One I turned it on most of my phone went dark. Don't think you're going to get 100% of apps to go dark.
Least not from my experience
