I was wondering if VoLTE works on the international version of the McLaren edition in the US. I need the dual SIM model and as far as I'm aware (I asked an associate, actually), the T-Mobile version does not have a second SIM slot.

Theoretically, if it's anything like the 6t all you need is a oem dual SIM tray off eBay

There's a bit of process getting that to work, assuming there really is a hidden second SIM slot. Considering how new the phone is, I'd rather not risk bricking the phone trying to change the ROM to get the option of a second SIM slot to appear.
Thanks for the reply, though.
You can use a 2nd sim tray once you root & flash international firmware but the IMEI will be the same on both.

When I unlocked & rooted the 7 pro TMO version both IMEIs were the same. I'm assuming the same with 7t McLaren. But I'll know soon enough, I've requested unlock.

Hello everyone,
yesterday, a family member gifted me an s7 from the USA (SM-G930P). He bought the phone off SPRINT as a SPRINT unlocked version, and, of course, because I live in Europe and want to use the phone with a European SIM card I have the "hands free activation" mark that is sitting on the top left edge of the display. I also noticed some changes, for example the "mobile data" toggle is nowhere to be found and also I don't have the options to choose the network mode (2G/3G/4G). I love the phone and I also would like to keep using it, I only need some answers from you guys.
My first question is, if the phone will actually let me use 4G network with my European SIM card, or will I be limited to 3G?
My second question is, If I can flash an international firmware for another carrier and another country on the phone, and if so, will I have the advantages of that firmware, like the Mobile Data Toggle??
Thank you very much for your answers.
If you install the 'Network' app you might be able to change the network type.
In general you should be able to use an unlocked P variant with a foreign SIM but you may have to activate with a Sprint SIM first.
You can't flash the international version since it's Exynos and the P version is Qualcomm CPU.
I am not sure if this model has Samsung region lock which is another thing to consider.
If I was you I would try to flash the U firmware (US unlocked) as it has the most support for international 4G bands among the Qualcomm US models. It also doesn't have all of the Sprint bloatware on it.

Thank you for your reply. I am currently using the European Sim from my carrier and I have no problems with it. I managed to get rid of the Bloatware by using Package Disabler Pro, but it still sits there somewhere on my phone. So far, the phone is working very well and other than the bloat sitting on my memory and the lack of LTE, I have no complaints.
Can you tell me if someone has tried to flash the U firmware on a P model with success?

I had bought an unlocked Sprint galaxy S7 (930P) off ebay which died on me. Got it repaired from the service center and they sent me a locked device instead. The phone is currently on Software Version - G930PVPS4BQC1 and the hardware revision is Rev 0.6. I'll be using the phone in India and have a few questions.
1. I need to get this SIM unlocked from a service online. Does anyone know of a reliable place to do so?
2. If I flash the U Rom on it after unlocking it, will I lose the unlock? (I don't mind downgrading from Nougat to Marshmallow)
3. Should I unlock first then flash the ROM or flash the ROM first and then try to get it unlocked?
4. Will flashing the ROM directly unlock the phone itself?
Please advise.
...
you could try gsm zambia to unlock your phone it works i tried it myself a few days ago, also after my phone got unlocked i flash the U firmware/rom and the unlocked remained. so you should unlock your device first then flash the U firmware :good:
PS. if you one nougat better to downgrade if you can do marshmallow so when you wont have any issues flashing to U firmware. :cool

I boughtta Huawei P10 Lite. It's the WAS LX1 model. It was bought from a vendor who has blocked the use of a single SIM card.
From the specs I've found this model support Dual SIM, has a slot available, but the software does not recognize second SIM.
It is possible to unlock this feature to use the phone in Dual SIM?
I think blocking second SIM was made by the vendor through software.
Best regards,
Hey according to the official huwaei website both WAS-LX1A and WAS-LX1 support dual sim.
It's possible to enable the second sim but I don't know how, maybe custom roms

The phone is most likely carrier locked, there is no reason to issue special software to block the use of a second SIM card for a phone sold for dual SIM use (and sounds like something you could sue the company for).
Are you trying to insert SIM cards from 2 different carriers? Ask your carrier if your phone is carrier locked and if they are willing to unlock it and report back.

try this go to /hw_oem/prop/local.prop
look for ro.dual.sim.phone=false change it to true and reboot
It won't work, you will have to find a OEMInfo TWRP partition from a dual sim P1 0 lite, or use this alternative : https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72523572&postcount=4

after that it has changed also in /hw_oem/prop/local.prop

other option is to dowload firmware but the instalation stops on 5% and as always fail.

I read this post some days ago, when i bought the same device with the same kind of sim "lock".
I contacted the huawei support, asking if it was possible to have the complete firmware because it is not fair buying it expecting it to be dual sim.. and it is not.
Their answer, where in a previous mail they told me that p10 lite german version is not dual sim:
Dear Customer,
thank you for your reply.
Sadly your device is a single-SIM device.
All the devices have the same second hybrid slot for 1 memory-card and 1 SIM-card anyway. But the needed hardware parts are missing. So it is not possible to get this DUAL-SIM feature with an other firmware.
Hopefully this inforamtions are what you've been searching for.

Some dual sim phones are not mean't to sold in some countries, if you need a dual sim phone, make sure it has been stated before you buy it, buying a single sim phone and expecting it suport dual sim is not the right way to go. Countries like korea and Japan, although there are more countries, they never sell dual sim phones, as these countries only sells phones through carriers, so phones are normally locked, and does not support dual carrier network.
China has the biggest market for dual sim phones, and Hong Kong has only started selling dual sim phones in the past few years, as many people from Hong Kong are buy dual sim phones from china, probably don't want to lose out on business, so most mid to high end phones and many low end phones now support dual sim.

On their website, t-mobile, there was nothing about it being single or dual sim. I found the specs both at Huawei website and gsmarena.
This last one, writes:
SIM Single SIM (Nano-SIM) or Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by)
But the Huawei website's got plenty of p10 lite, each with both single and dual sim for each product code.
Mine is a WAX-LX1 and is both single and dual.
I did read nothing on t-mobile website, about it working on single or dual sim, you know.. like those T&C where you'd read it ..
I supposed it was dual. Because it is nice to have more than less.
It is not. It is single.
But the funny thing is that I'm not really interested at this, because I own a Zenfone too and this is dual sim (now using as an iPod, android version eheheh).
Still.. If someone managed to "hack" it with another firmware, that would be great!
But, Huawei wrote there are hardware part missing.
I don't really believe it.. And I'm not even skilled to try and flash firmware.
If someone, someday, manages to have the second sim working, I'd love to follow the process and having it unlocked as well. Else, nevermind..

Is this T mobile in the US, I think the US is not know to have many dual sim phones, especial from the main brands like Samsung, Sony, LG and Hauwei, and if they are not stated dual sim, it's usually a single sim version, or refer to the model number.
I think reading somewhere, someone has done it with the P10, but haven't heard about the P10 Lite.

Germany, or better, Austria. Since there isn't a website for Huawei Austria, and the customer support is the one for Germany.
...At least it is not sim-lock! But I still believe it is firmware-related. I don't think they intentionally removed hardware. It would cost more to produce lots of the same phones with different hardware than flashing them with different firmware.
We're here, simply waiting for the guy with a unlocked P10 Lite dual sim working, who can share its backup..
If the concept is similar as for P9 lite, you guys just need to read oeminfo using Twrp from some dual.sim verzion of device, then make flashable zip file and flesh it throu Twrp. After fleshing the firmware is corupted and just need full stock firmware recovery with compatible version of vendor using dload method. But converting single sim into dual sim in Nougat is more difucult then on MM. On P9 lite we only success to convert it using MM. After upgrading on N its dificilts but not imposible. Just find oeminfo share it and make a try. After unlocking dual sim option the phone still has one Imei but two open sim slots, and its normal. All the best!

I read in the unlocking thread that flashing the international rom allows the bootloader to be unlocked, but not the phone itself. I don't have a different SIM to test my theory, though.
You must request a Sim unlock from T-Mobile. If you did the recent msmtool where you flashed to international version of oos. You would need to reflash with msmtool for tmo in order to request the unlock Sim code. Using the msmtool to flash international does not Sim unlock. That is done through the Sim unlock app installed on tmo 6t os. And must be requested and approved by Twitter for the unlock Sim code. Which you can do through TMobile Twitter, higher success rate

Early access for those of you who know what this is, and want to see what you can find inside. I compress extra small for storage and bandwidth savings, so you'll need 7zip or WinRAR etc to extract - the default Windows unzipper can't handle it.
Retail firmware should be coming soon, and I'll put up another thread similar to my existing ones, once I have access to it.

That doesn't necessarily mean that it's SIM locked. Pretty much all Verizon phones show a notification that says "This is not a Verizon SIM" - even if they're unlocked - if you insert a different carrier's SIM. If you can post a picture or screenshot of what you're seeing, that might help us clarify things
this is the pop up that occurs

Buy the $30 prepaid plan and leave the Verizon sim in for 24 hours after its activated and then pop in another sim. Should work.
The Verizon G977U comes unlocked. I am currently using T-Mobile. I don't mind bc I upgraded from note 8. but I just don't like the Verizon boot and all apps ect.., also the "non Verizon Simcard "message.
in my note 8 I put any simcard and it will reset to that simcard carrier with original carrier boot and apps. . I will like to have the same effects in this device.
if anyone is interested in testing with this device it is available.
I've seen G977N in YouTube and it doesn't have any carrier (maybe that's the unlocked version)
Will this support S10 5G firmware?

Are you talking about unlocked exynos version vs snapdragon unlocked version ? If it's snapdragon unlocked if you flash any carrier firmware and install ur sim it'll change itself but if you flash unlocked firmware it'll just boot like a normal unlocked variant. That's from my experience on note 8-9. When it comes to exynos version I don't think that's an option I have a s10 plus exynos on T-Mobile and have no issues why are you trying to get it to boot with branded bootlogo ?
It installs the carrier firmware of whichever carriers sim card you put in the phone, it's just that the boot logo doesn't change.
