What exactly is my exposure when I use this phone with this outdated security patch. The logic says I'm an accident that's waiting to happen, and all I can do is buy a different phone from a company that has frequent security updates, or wait for the axe to drop and my bank acct credit cards etcetera are hacked. Can I prevent any hacks using some means with this phone or what? Thanks for any input. I appeciate a lot about LG, but now that they stopped unlocking bootloaders I may have to buy the dredded iPhone. Hate that idea, but I only like LG phones. Thanks

The security risk that was reported to affect 99% of devices has already been patched in the Google Edition Rom.
The company that found the exploit posted an app to scan for the exploit. When I ran it on my One running the stock google edition rom it showed as patched

Apparently ARHD is as well... So I would go to say that HTC One 4.2.2 is patched already.

Yeah I know...
I think its a scare tactic. Read the article on AC.. its pretty iffy to see TiBu, root explorer and Faux Clock and other apps on the screenshot... considering I have all installed and it didn't show on mine lol

Huff and puff. They are 100% confident in it, and they've even gone far enough to hire interns onto the Glass team for the summer. They aren't giving up on the product by any means. Besides, they already confirmed a KitKat update is coming soon.
Google is definitely into glass.

Sony has unveiled its plans to release 7.0 update for its top devices, and that includes X Performance. Although an obvious thing, it's good to hear from company, and know that it's paying attention.

You're not the only one, same for me and some other Note FE SM-N935F/DS users...
Seems like that only the Korean variant doesn't have this problem as they can just flash the standard TWRP without problems.
Anyone able to boot back to main screen without flashing stock ROM?
So there's no working root method yet for N935F/DS. Seems we have to wait for a year? Hope not. I like their phones but I hate Samsung!

A few tweaks/enhancements included again, I see!
I haven't noticed much of a difference with the update.
Haven't really dug into it that much.
Face unlock still sucks, and the fingerprint reader only seems to like one of the 4 fingerprints I have registered.
So yeah... not much different.

Yep, I feel ya on that...samsung is always non-specific as to what the device enhancements are (if any) when included with the security patch!

Samsung is very non-specific about their enhancements when it piggyback's with the current security patch as you know. I hope it pertains to battery draw, device lagging, for starters, but we can't be certain what they included? All-In, with the sec. patch, the update weighs-in at only 243mb
so I don't think the enhancements were too significant.
