custom ROM to stock OOS - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

I'm on a custom ROM based on 9.013.
I have the full ROM zip on my sdcard for 9.017. Am I able to flash it via TWRP recovery to get to a stock OOS pie ROM?
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the answer whether it's flashable via recovery or not.
Thanks,
Pain

Yes of course you can flash oos via twrp. Just make sure it's really is the Full zip AKA over 1+ gig file.

If going from custom rom back to stock oos, don't forget to format data in twrp. Do a backup first because this will wipe everything. So do like this.
Reboot to twrp
Flash oos followed by twrp installer tap
Wipe them select format data type yes
Reboot recovery and install oos again followed by twrp installer again
Reboot recovery and flash magisk then reboot to system. Good luck.

[Q] Do i need TWRP to flash SplitView.zip ?

Do i need TWRP recovery to flash SplitView ported from LG Flex or i can simply flash it via stock recovery? If i install TWRP recovery, can i go back COMPLETELY later to the stock?
You can't flash any zips without custom recovery, so yes you need to flash twrp. Also to get back stock it should be as easy as flashing a kdz file

thank you, but how ? should i make backup about the recovery before installing TWRP?
You should be fine by just flashing twrp, no need for backup
You just need a custom recovery like cwm or twrp

i always do this to get back to miui and it works. By the way which rom are you currently on? and which recovery you use.explain everything.
Best way
1.fastboot Stock ROM
2.Root,Install Custom Recovery(i prefer flashify, take a backup of stock recovery)
3.Backup using custom recovery.(copy backup to PC/OTG,no need for 32GB cards)
4.flash desired rom.
5.Migrate data using Nandroid Manager/Titanium Backup.
6.If don't like ROM,restore stock from recovery.
7.if you dont want custom recovery too, restore from flashify
8.Unroot
Ta Da,Back to out of the box
Done

yeah it appears to be custom recovery flashable, does not seem to overwrite recovery
Next obvious question, is this multirom compatible? As secondary ROM?
They name it "Cyanogen OS 13.0.1" which mean that the latest Android security update was included.
For the issues, such as the Bluetooth disconnecting issue, can any one report if the issue is solved or not?
How do we get root back on this, I tried installing supersu from flashing the rom and from a supersu.zip and bricks the phone.

If you downloaded COS13 (full ZIP) and flashed it through custom recovery, it should work fine. Installing SU through TWRP 3.0 also worked without bricking my OPO. Are you sure you had not flashed anything else?

Try updating super su!
After flashing the rom don't update su! Once update is complete
Flash this new super su file

You are upgrading from one android version to another.
I say that you should clean flash, that ways no FC'S or stuff like that would happen.

I think you actually can roll-back to MIUI normaly
I also would like to know this, i believe you can flash through TWRP but i'm not sure and i would like someone to confirm this because i need to do it today and i don't have a windows system to recover it with ease if something fails.
Thanks.
I flashed miui rom zips on twrp

It's possible but you need to disable dm-verity in twrp (or flash lazyflasher) else it will not boot, and it will wipe your internal storage partition during installation so make sure to backup your data and place your rom in microsd rather than internal storage.
I think you better use xiaomi.eu rom rather than official, since it easier and not wiping your internal storage during installation.
Just flashed the official ROM through TWRP, disabled verify in the options just in case, threw some mount errors but installed correctly.
I just did it and it works fine.
