Is Sony Xperia X Compact compatible with project tremble? - Sony Xperia X Compact Questions & Answers

I found that the standerd model and the preforcmance model are supported.
Could i install the Lineage Os 17 Trebke port on my compact?

Sadly, no, all the three models do not support Project Treble. At least not officially, from Sony.
But for X and X Performance developers have created a Project Treble compliant vendor image on their own.
And as a result, no, you are not able to install the LineageOS 17 Treble port on X Compact. Unless someone creates a Treble compliant vendor partition image for X Compact.

I'll start working on that. I'm not skilled in rom porting, but Almost finished porting a HTC10 to Maru, so I might be able to do something. I'll keep you posted

Oreo beta and treble project

Does any one with Oreo beta build can confirm that it supports treble project pleas?
No its not.
We have a build.prop of 8.0 and it has disabled treble.
Project Treble requires kernel version 4.4.Unfortunately the beta Oreo update has kernel version 3.18

No it doesn't it requires a special vendor partion which we didn't have in previous builds

I don't think this is the case - Android 8.0 requires 2017 SoCs to launch with Kernel 4.4 or newer, but older SoCs can use Kernel 3.18 or newer.
https://source.android.com/devices/architecture/kernel/modular-kernels
Kernel changes are required to enable Treble regardless of the base Kernel version.
I for one am disappointed that Treble is not present in the O Beta. So disappointed, in fact, that I will likely sell the device if this isn't present in the final build (which seems unlikely). The only reason I got an A1 was to investigate Treble development.

me too i got an A1 becouse its an android one device wich should be all stock features and should supports Treble if it dosnt i well sell it and got htc u11 life wich did support it
On the flip side even the near stock OnePlus 5 also will not support treble . Only the pixels seems will get this for now.
Having said that A1 is an ideal candidate for treble

It's not just Pixels - Huawei is really doing a sterling job here and implementing Treble on all its Oreo Beta builds. Essential, HTC and Sony also upgrading various devices to Oreo with Treble support.

Correct me if I'm wrong but do we really need treble as this is android one device and it is close to AOSP as possible and as such I'm not really sure we really need it.
However we need the kernel sources and they are still not released.

Will Moto X Pure (Style) gets custom Project Treble support for custom ROM?

Will project treble be available for older devices or it will only be made available for new released devices that launched with Android 8.0 Oreo?

All signs point to no for this phone. Moto left it off their list of devices getting oreo. It is very unlikely to get oreo and even less likely to get treble support. The Pure/Style might get a few more security patches, but I wouldn't even count on that. It is >2 years old and had 2 major OS updates; in the android world that makes it due for abandonment.
Only for Oreo out of the box.
Project Treble is enabled only for Oreo OOB device even OnePlus5T dosent support Treble bcoz it comes with N OOB.
Treble need a specify partition on the NAND, so manufacture need to set it up in factory, so NO for Style.
All I want is a official 7.1, but...

Project Treble

Hi,
I see that some Devs have successfully ported project treble to a few Xiaomi devices, and wondered how feasible it would be to create a project treble port for the z17.
Does anyone know much about the process, and what stumbling blocks there would be to porting on Nubia devices?
Also am I correct in thinking that once a device has project treble, then any treble compatible ROM will work on the phone?
AFAIK this should be possible from the moment the Z17 runs stock Android oreo 8.0 however.. I have no insight in the how-to

[Request] can devs port the Existenz rom for XC?!

Existenz rom is already ported for Xperia X so maybe if a developer puts some time they can port it for Xc too because there are not many differences between these two phones...
it seems that this rom is a big port of xz2

New AOSP Android 10.0 binaries (Kernel 4.14) 2019-09-23

Hi. in the official site sony check this the most recently information for our device
https://developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/latest-updates
specially:
Software binaries for AOSP Android 10.0 – Kernel 4.14 – Tone (latest)
Software binaries for Xperia™ XZ, Xperia XZs and Xperia X Performance. To be used with the Android™ Open Source Project (AOSP) for Xperia devices.
maybe somebody have any information for respect.
¿Android 10 in our device? ¿is possible?
Android 10 is out you can download it from the pie thread. But it is in very early stage so you have to take that in mind.
Bugs are similar with the pie builds btw.
I've tried to build AOSP for the F8331. In my opinion, when Kernel 4.14 is offered by Sony, it should be possible to build AOSP.
But when I start envsetup.sh a device list appears - but without F8331.
Anyone here who has already found a solution?
