How do I recover lost photos in samsung galaxy a9? - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi,
My daughter have samsung galaxy a9. She acidentally deleted all her gallery including about 6000 photos and films
How can she recover it?
I tried following the thread:
"Recover Accidentally Deleted Files, Photos, Music after Rom Install by bullriders" with some help, however, the program does not recognize any files which are not included in a driver. (ie, "phone" is not "driver C, D... " etc)
What can I do?
Thanks,
Stamstam

I tried diskdigger on the phone itself, but it recovered only about 30 pictures

Is it dangerous to root the device? How do I do it.....
Is it dangerous to root the device? How do I do it? Can I unroot it later? If I installed diskdigger on the phone itself, does it mean that I lost some photos due to taking up disk space? Did I lose all of them?

Anybody have any info on this? I am in the same boat here.
As much as i know, you once have to unlock bootloader with full wipe (this is required for flashing superSU which in turn is required for things like Bootunlocker.)
I have never tried this but does adb pull work for cache? you can get a copy of your cache with it. Also stock gallery stores thumbnails, these are not high quality and without root, they may only be option.

EEEEK...No way of rooting without unlocking bootloader huh?
Not sure how undelete works, but you are better off using diskdigger, you can root and use this as when you delete something it is not removed from the storage, it just removes the link to the files location and says that the location can now be overwritten. This means that if it is not overwritten then the data is still there, this is what diskdigger uses.
This also means you don't want to write any more data to your phone than is necessary until you recover your files as this will increase the chance of corrupting them.
(Rooting is write heavy)
The way to recover without rooting is to mount your phone to your computer as an external storage device then run the desktop disk digger application targeted at the phone storage, this should recover the files.
http://diskdigger.org
Note: this will recover all the files that have traces left on the drive so be prepared to trawl through them all looking for what you want.
Hope this helps, post back if needed.

Possible to recover deleted photos?

Hi all. I am wondering if it is possible to recover deleted photos from a non rooted S5? My co worker just came back from the Philipines and accidently deleted her photos before they had a chance to upload to Drop box over wifi. I have done a search on Google and most apps want you to pay to recover data. I know you can recover deleted data from a rooted phone. If I were to root her phone, would I lose all of her pictures that are already on there? Thanks to anyone who can give me any help or direction.
You need to root the phone, and just like any other activity that requires writes to the disk, it will utilize and write over empty space, which is where your deleted photos are part of now. But it shouldn't be too bad.
After trying many apps I really found Diskdigger undelete to be the most accurate and reliable app to recover deleted photos. It is free for .jpg but you will need to pay for other file types. Hope it helps

HELP! Pictures/Vids deleted!!! how to restore?

A friend took a picture and decided to try and delete it. When he accessed the gallery app where the folders are shown (the pic he took was the thumbnail of the folder), he deleted the whole folder. Is there any way to retrieve deleted photos? I tried a google search but all of the programs i found such as Dr. Fone etc all require me to purchase the software itself. Is there any way i can retrieve these photos? My Samsung device is not rooted and i haven't ever used the google+ apps and so when i access my gmails etc the photos aren't in the bin. I had about 300+ very important photos

No it's impossible unless you are still running Android 4.2.2.
Every information about recovering files is outdated and cannot be used anymore.

I don't know if they can be recovered if they were on the internal memory.

Because Android enabled Trim from 4.3+ and up.
Wow that sucks. Is there no way i can restore these pics and vids?
Edit: YAY i recovered the pictures by using the google play app "Diskdigger photo recover" app it's the only thing that worked after trying countless of countless of programs on my computer. Anyways the videos that have been recovered have turned into image files. Is there any way to convert them back to the videos they once were?

Recover deleted files on Nexus 6P Rooted

I'm on a Nexus 6P rooted and I use Asus File Manager app to keep pictures/videos etc. I accidentally deleted the wrong folder and now I'm wondering if there is a way to recover that. It doesn't seem to be built into the app itself. I deleted it a couple days ago and I haven't taken any pictures or added any files since.
No possibility to recover them. Deleted is deleted on Android.

You could try undeleter from the app store. I'm not sure if it needs to be downloaded before you actually delete a file but give it a try. There is also Dumpster which retains deleted files for as long as you want in the event you ever accidentally delete stuff.

That's completely incorrect. There are several data recovery tools online that can be used. Storage is storage, deletion only means that that space has been allocated to be written over, the data is still there until it is written over.

Completely false! I've recovered deleted numbers, photos, files etc many time. Undeleter Pro is my goto app for this. It's not free, but well worth it. Give it a shot.

Please help (about deleted files)

All my files were deleted after the reset (I didn't know this would erase the memory). Only if I can save the pictures. Diskdigger couldn't find any old photos. Most programs do not work because the device is not rooted in 870ds. Please how can I root or another recovery method?Very important, please.
Although my English is not very good I did a lot of research I could not find a solution. All I need is root permission for the H870DS. Hundreds of valuable photos I have been saving for years have been deleted ...
If you did a factory reset, they are gone for good. That's why it is always recommended that you do a backup before a reset.
Friends please There must be a way.
