Did anyone find a way to make device not request fingerprint when paired with set BT device as google devices do? I think it is called smart unlock maybe.

I have annoying problem with my GPS receiver GBGPS201.
Every time I switch it off, next time I switch it on I have to establish new pair with my WM6 even though in Bluetooth manager is shows device as discovered (I use BT headset and it works without any problems).
I called vendor and they told me that GBGPS201 GPS device does not support "auto pairing".
So each time I want to use a device, I have to pair it, choose "serial port", create new outgoing serial port and only after that be able to use navigation software.
My question is wether there is some utility there which will do it for me?

Hi all! Does anyone know of a program that retrieves the BT PIN code? After installing a custom ROM on my Touch, it seems to have set it to something other than the default and I can't connect. Really appreciate any info on how to do this or if there's already a program out to take care of this! Thanks!
From what I know there's no default PIN. When you pair with a BT device it should either be the PIN of the device you're pairing with such as the PIN for BT headsets or if you're pairing with a BT PC/Laptop you need to enter a PIN on both devices.
hmmmm...maybe the sprint tech didn't know what he was talking about. They were trying to sync my old samsung phone contacts with the Touch and they kept prompting to put a PIN in because default wasn't working....I had no idea what it was so I just had to enter the contacts manually...
Just tried a few latest windows 6.1 roms and found out that my bluetooth headset (I tried a few) is not asking for passcode anymore (it used to ask to enter "0000"). On one hand - it's a cool feature saving you time and efforts to pair your devices. On the other hand- it's quite dangerous. Just imagine somebody near you (while you're having lunch) is playing with bluetooth on the laptop and connects to your phone without you knowing it. Potentially, he can download all your info from the phone. No good!
I was thinking that it maybe something wrong with my bluetooth or the ROM on the phone. But after I did a quick search here, it appears that Windows 6.1 has this neat feature of "automatic cycling of the standard passcodes" during pairing process. Is there any fix to this security breach? Or maybe I'm not getting it quite right?
well i still havent paired my headset with my pdacorner v23 NonRBSN rom but if you go to comm manager, hit settings, the click on bluetooth. On the tab Security there should be a box that says authentication passkey required. i dont know if thats bluetooth or infrared....but im sure its bluetooth.
Hope that works.
With all the wm 6.1's I've used it appears to only work with BT headsets... GPS and other BT devices need a key....
Cheers...
If that's so - it's good. I'll experiment with bluetooth dongle on my PC.
Any ideas on how to get this thing to pair with a bluetooth device that doesn't have a pin? I get a request for a passkey/pin during pairing and the OK button is disabled until a character is entered. The normal defaults don't work (0000, ETC) since the device doesn't require a pin. It works perfectly with my Rezound running ViperRez, and Windows, etc.
Not sure you can. That's a security feature of BT. Even if you could somehow alter the BT stack on the tablet, the other device would still need a pin to finish pairing. I suspect the other device DOES have a pin, and you'll need to figure out what it is. If it is a popular device, surely someone else has done the research for you and you can find it online. I know I have a BT GPS unit that didn't use any default PIN that I knew and after scouring for this obscure device I found a similar one using the same chip set and discovered the PIN in the other device's manual.
Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can find a device with a similar chipset. It's a targus mouse and this nexus is the only thing that has ever asked for a pin, and the manual doesn't specify one and support verified this. ICS devices hadn't been asking for one either.
As a suggestion, the Motorola Elite Sliver can pair via NFC.

Necroreplying for posterity: bluetooth supports pinless pairing, but android doesn't. There's two android bugs for this, 26049 and 52549.
If you paired bluetooth devices as Trusted Devices with your phone, you will enjoy having the phone unlocked when the device is within range. If you Encrypt Device after this, the device will lock in spite of telling you it won't, when the Trusted Devices are within range.
If you paired before encrypting, and do use encryption, be sure to unpair your Trusted Devices and pair them again after encrypting. This re-pairing will keep the unlock function working.
Kimmie, learning this the hard way after discovering my Pebble watch and car stereo were no longer unlocking the phone.
