I've searched DDG, my settings, oneplus forum , and here....
I know its a small thing. But I had this setting on my 1+1...
I finally decide to stop gaming and get some sleep, I click power to sleep the phone, turn off my light, then plug in my charger, and BAM. Bright ass screen in my face.
Anyone know where this setting is? (yes, I am aware I could plug in the charger before turning the screen off, but this setting should be possible).
1+6T, Tmob version, 9.0.15 oxygen, stock rom.
Thanks.

Ive had my phone rooted for a while now.
only thing which kind of annoys me is when the phone is powered off, and you place it on charge the orange light comes on. However, when you take it off charge the orange light is still stable and the phone will not power on. Untill i take out and put back in the battery?
ive read somewhere when i first rooted that this was a bug while rooting?
just wanted to know is there a possible fix for this issure?
thanks,
if you charge when it's switch off, when you want turn on without pull off the battery, you can use short cut buttun to turn on : power+volume down +press the optical ,do it at the same time...
I dunno if this phenomena is normal with the NC, or if it's happening ONLY in my NC.
I've noticed that whenever my NC's battery is low*, you cannot turn it on anymore. That's all well and good, because I would like to keep it turned off while it's being charged. I reckon it'll make it faster to charge because it doesn't use that much power in that state.
The problem is: IT DOESN'T STAY THAT WAY.
In my case, as soon as the NC's battery level reaches 9%, it AUTOMATICALLY TURNS ON. And whenever I try to turn it off again WHILE THE USB CABLE CHARGER IS PLUGGED IN, it AUTOMATICALLY TURNS BACK ON AGAIN, which is extremely annoying since I don't typically use it while it's being charged. For me it wastes a lot of time because it would've been faster to charge it while it's turned off.
Anyone knows who can help me out on this?
1st Question: I want to be able to charge my NC while it's turned off. Is it possible?
2nd Question:
Is there a way to override the rule where it needs to have at least 15% power before you can turn it on?
I think I read in one of your posts you're using CM7... If that's the case... after your nook is connected and charging.... or after it turns itself back on....
Press and hold power until the power menu comes up
Select Power Off in the menu
It won't power back on automatically when you shut it down that way.
Are you sure that pressing the power button doesn't turn off the screen?
Cause I think that mine works this way while charging.
Unleashed from Nook Color on Cm7 Nightly 162 @1.200Mhz
I get the screen/charge thing too on nightly 150. Plug it in, turn screen off, look back in a few minutes, screen is on! I like to watch a video in bed while I drift off with it on slow charge but the screen is still on in the morning.
I was planning to use Tasker to fix this but haven't got very far yet.
I turn mine off all the time when I am charging. The only time it turns back on is if there is a power interruption.
I've seen many threads/posts talking about charging NC.
My case:
Once plugging for charging, it turns ON. I (or we) have to turn the screen off. Note: just turn the SCREEN off, not turn the NOOKcolor off.
I've had the same 'nook turning on when charging' on all roms tried - CM7, MIUI and MN Nook stock - and always wondered why??
In any event, i too also just turn the screen off.
cheers,

I always turn it completely off as it charges faster. There is no harm in doing so.

You can do that but it just takes longer time to get ready after you unplug the charge, with screen off, all you need is light press the N or the power button.
Additionally, don't know about CM7 but with stock OS, B&N clearly indicate that we need to turn screen off, NOT the NC off when charging.

Because there's no way to turn it off and it not reboot with power using stock AOS... it always behaves exactly like CM7 does if you hold the power button to turn it off... it reboots if power is connected... with CM7 you can select the power off option in the power long press menu and it will stay off.
I was using my phone one day and the screen turned all green. I had to force my phone off, and then I turned it back on. After awhile it happened again, but it wouldn't turn on again. I pulled the battery and I could turn it back on after that. It happened again and now I cannot turn my phone on no matter what. I feel like it has a problem with the battery because pushing on the battery while turning it on helps has worked in the past, but it doesn't anymore. My phone also wont charge. Does anyone know how to fix this?
It could be your battery. Or it could be the motherboard. The screen going green and the shutting down could indicate a problem with the GPU and the safety circuits kicking in to prevent other damage to the phone.
I know this isn't much help, but my phone regularly goes green (almost like night vision) in extremely bright environments (like at the beach when its sunny). I just presumed it was a feature to help visibility as it really does help hugely... Maybe Im wrong!
Anyways, get a new battery and see if that works.
The screen is supposed to get brighter (if auto-brightness is enabled) in sunny environments, but not green.
Are you using a custom rom?
At the night when I'm charging the phone, the wireless screen saver (or what ever it called) stays on.
and when I wake up my phone is a bit hot.
How do I turn it off only when I charge it wireless?
I own The S8
P.s;
Sorry for the bad English, It's not my 1st language, If I need to clear something I will try to do my best.

But then it will turn off my Always On Desplay when I'mnot charging too?
yes.
Is it the AOD that is on?
If so.. That is not the cause that your phone is a bit hot.
That you phone is a bit hot is because of the wireless charging and maybe not original charger which is not lowering the power if the phone is fully charged?

It's not the AOD that on, It's like a special screen saver when you charging (I already turned it off).
The charger is Original, I got it from the Samsung store.
Tyvm, for the help.
You don't need a screensaver. Where did you turn it of?
Go to settings - display. At the bottom is screen saver. Turn that off.
But that is not on with stock settings?
Schedule your always on display to only turn on during waking hours.
Settings-display-screensaver turn it off.

Wow, I had no idea (or forgot) there was such a screen saver...
But I have a similar need, as thread title says, to actually turn off the screen when I place it on wireless charger, so I'll post my current workarounds...
Maybe someone has a better idea...
E.g. I use "Sleep as Android" app to track my sleep over sonar, so from my bed I manually start tracking, lock the phone and place phone on the wireless charger at night, but as soon as I place it on charger, it turns on.
It will sometimes stay on even though the phone is "locked" (similar to how Camera app can work with phone locked) so I have to carefully turn it off manually by pressing power off key (it is Samsung's flat mini wireless charger model (made for S6), not the stand, so it gets slippery to do it from bed).
Currently, I'm using the "Gravity" app that has an option to turn off the screen when phone is placed on wireless charger... But that is an issue since I also have wireless charger in my car and I do NOT want to turn off my display (I use phone for navigation) when I place the phone on my wireless charger in my car...
Luckily, Gravity app has exclude list, so I have excluded maps software that I use in the car...
If I turn my screen off it will not come back on. I can see a very faint but unusable screen image. If I plug in the charger I can fool around with it and get it to start up. It works normally if I don't turn off the screen or if I leave it on the charger. I tried a new battery but changing it did not cure the problem. Any ideas?
Edit: if I toggle Always On and get the clock during sleep, the problem seems to go away.
Thanks

Use this and toggle the CPU option and set to apply locks on boot https://www.google.com/amp/s/apkfab.com/wakelock-revamp-powermanager/eu.thedarken.wldonate/amp
The problem is related to deep sleep in the phone
