I have oneplus 6t , i have just got 1tb external seagate hdd , i wanna connect it via OTG and explore it but what is more important that
1- i need an application that allows me to backup files ,photos to this hdd and also to be synced once i plug ghe otg and open the app ( to automatically transfer new photos to hdd and exclude the transfered one before )
2- i need to know how to unmount the hdd from otg ( safely removal )

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I'm trying to put files like emulator files on my usb drive that has been converted internal storage (usb). My computer won't read the usb after it is formatted to be an internal storage.
I have the files on a sdcard but wondering how I can transfer all that to be on the usb drive.

As far as I know once you format any external storage as internal then that drive is going to be encrypted. This is the reason why your PC won't read it when you insert it back to its own USB ports. You can read it via NSTV if you connect it to your computer via USB cable as long as you enable USB debugging. To recover the USB for general use you have to erase it from NSTV/storage and then eject and then it might work again on your PC. I said it might because sometimes you would have to do a low lever format to completely remove the encryption. Good luck.
can i load additional movies onto the usb drive without disconnecting from the shield tv as in transfer files from my computer directly to the usb 3.0 external drive attached to the shield?
i dont want to format it so it part of the android system as i have a sd card

I have several problems with my OTG conection,
1. When I try to plug in a USB joystick through OTG I can´t make it work , the cellphone does not recognize the usb. but when I connect a mouse or a keyboard, they work fine, it just the joystick, I have tested the USB joystick in differents cellphones with OTG support and it works perfectly
2. I have a 32g sd card and few days ago it stopped working now I can not use it , the cellphone says that my sd card is empty and I have to format it, but when I format it, does not happen anything .. the cellphone only say, the sd card is empty (format or cancel)
3. finally I try to conect a 1T hard disk but the cellphone show me that the disk is empty but it is not empty , it works fine in my laptop and my moto g2
I appreciate your help to solve these problems
1. AFAIK, no standard for OTG. So Laser 2 might support mouse/keyboard/storage but not joystick.
2. Got corrupted or a bad card. How did you format it and with what format? e.g., not all card readers support sdxc. If cost not an issue, just get a new card BUT if some bad app corrupted the file system it might happen again.
3. Can't be sure but again maybe a limitation of the Laser 2 OTG implementation.
Can anyone tell me the best way to transfer files to the usb flash drive attached to the shield? I tried accessing the usb drive from my computer network but could only get into the 16gb internal but not my attached usb? Any reasons why?
Hello mmar141, You cannot access the removable storage connected to the Shield over the network, You can access Only the Shield's main storage or the drives that are converted Into Adoptable storage can be accessed over the network!
