The new Samsung Galaxy Labs - Samsung Galaxy S10e Themes, Apps, and Mods

Sooo a while back, Samsung released a new app for the Note 10 duo called Galaxy Labs, it is basically new tools to be introduced in upcoming software updates but we get to test them now. I managed to install it on my S10e and it worked with the exception of the Battery Tracker, here is a summary of the tools and their uses:
1. File Guardian: a tool used to recover permanently deleted files, just like recovery software on PCs.
2. Battery Tracker: a redesigned battery usage tracker which gives you more information about battery usage.
3. Battery Guardian: a redesigned battery optimizer that monitors the behavior of apps and puts them to sleep.
4. App Booster: it says it boosts the performance of apps but no idea really!
In order to get these working, you should download the following APKs from either Apkmirror or Sammobile:
Galaxy Labs || Galaxy Labs Agent || Battery Guardian || Battery Tracker || File Guardian || App Booster

[SOLVED] high Android OS stats

SOLVED: In System Settings > Location Services > disable Location & Google Search
NOT SOLVED: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31425852&postcount=28
I've added the 'not solved' link because for one person, this bug was solved by a completely different approach.
Anyone with high (e.g. above 10%) Android OS stats can help solve this bug by adding some data here:
http://goo.gl/fyOrQ EDIT: SOLVED, so locked, no new data can be added
Enter
-Your Device
-Your ROM
-Whether you get the OS drain or not (it might be nice to have a few negatives, but mostly I'm interested in positives)
-List the apps you've installed (go to Manage Apps > Downloaded)
If a few people can do this, it be easy to work out the cause.

Good point. I've never seen mine above 6%
I'll add guidance to the OP
Removed. I'll add it to spreadsheet as soon as I turn on my laptop.
Great response from the community so far. Keep it coming!

Also, general notice, if you don't use my kernel, can you enter which one you do use please everyone. Thanks!
I9023 - Rasbean Jelly (Sept 4) + Brainmaster jellybean tweak + Marmite v4.4.11.
Same setup with Marmite v4.4.11 = Android OS Usage around 4%
Same setup with other Marmite version 4 = Sometimes Android OS usage get as high as 60%.

Thanks to all the people who replied.
For the people with the OS drain, these apps are in common:
Youtube 3/4
Whatsapp 3/4
Titanium Backup 3/4
Maps 3/4
Google Search 3/4
For the people with no problem:
YouTube 1/5
WhatsApp 2/5
Titanium Backup 5/5
Maps 1/5
So, although it's a small sample, the most likely candidate for causing this bug is Google Search. My guess is that the search app incorporates the new Google Now thing, and is a hungry app, but is listed as an OS stat, because it is a Google product.
I have Google Now disabled and I don't suffer from this high Android OS issue, so this may or may not support these findings. However, battery life in JB for me is really quite short. Not sure if it's the modifications by project butter or something else but I learned to live with it, since the update is awesome. Can't get something for nothing, I guess. Life is all about tradeoffs.
I suppose people with the app can disable it like apatal, see if this is sufficient to clear the bug

I'm not sure that any of those apps can be blamed. Sure, 3/4 of the reported users have them installed but they are all apps that most power users would have (except whats app never heard of that) I have all of those apps and have never experienced SEVERE battery drain.
I usually have no androidos battery drain, but yesterday my phone has gone crazy with 60% of androidos usage. I usually run air kernel and this happened to me just once, do you want my infos too?

It's not a severe battery drain problem, just a little higher. The main issue was determining the source of the high Android OS drain to make sure it wasn't a kernel issue.
Thanks again to everyone who helped narrow this down!

The best note app for me is S Note, and if you want to draw then download sketchbook for galaxy from Samsung Apps it's free for the note 4
Tips what to turn off or on?
Go through the settings, read what each setting does and set up your device as you see fit
Tips to save battery life?
Battery is really good on the note 4 so I don't think you should have a problem with it.Mine lasts a day with moderate to heavy use.
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I dismissed greenify because this is the first smartphone that give me enough autonomy till the end of the day. If I need more autonmy with the two options that Samsung pro ide natively, power saving and ultra power saving its enough for me. I see other mates who also unistall it after using it because the difference is residual almost goes worst using it. That's what they say.
Facebook will drain your battery.
Greetings.

Hi,
It is a hidden menu found on Samsung Galaxy smartphones and it can be used for checking whether the device is in good working order.
So by now you're probably wondering how to access this secret menu. Well, you do that by opening the Phone app and entering the code *#0*# as if you were to dial it. The said menu will appear as soon as you input the last symbol.
Most of the options listed in this secret menu aren't particularly interesting. For example, Red, Green, Blue, and Black let you check the screen's output for flaws, such as stuck pixels or color irregularities. But hit Sensor and you'll be taken to a cool-looking screen where raw data from your phone's sensors is displayed. Also, there are graphs visualizing readings from your accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass. Oddly, if you hit Image Test you'll be shown a picture of a chihuahua. This means there's a photo of someone's pet dog hidden in millions of Galaxy smartphones, as silly as it may seem.
The Touch test can be useful if you have doubts about your touchscreen's accuracy. Each rectangle where a tap is detected is highlighted, and your finger's trace is represented by a black line. There's also the Sub key test for checking whether the phone's capacitive keys are in order. The Receiver test checks the earpiece for malfunctions, and the Speaker test blasts a mysterious pop song through the loudspeaker.
So that is Samsung's hidden test menu found on Galaxy handsets. If you're feeling adventurous, feel free to check it out or to search for other secret codes at your own risk.
This information was published on phonearena website.
Greetings.

What are you disabling in Package Disabler Pro?

For those who are uninitiated, Package disabler pro is an app on the app store that lets you disable programs on your android device without rooting. You can get gains in battery life and performance by disabling bloat using this program.
So far I'm taking a very light approach.
I've disabled:
Android Pay :
com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel
CarmodeStub
com.samsung.android.drivelink.stub
Hancom Office 2014
com.hancom.office.editor
Live TV
com.sling.slingtvloader
Lookout
com.lookout
Samsung Milk Music
com.samsung.mdl.radio
Samsung+
com.samsung.oh
T-Mobile TV
com.mobitv.client.tmobiletvhd
I've got 1796 RAM free after a reboot which I feel is pretty good. Although there are probably a ton more things that could be easily disabled. I figured we could get the ball rolling on everyone's results with disabling certain packages as we experiment.

Can you disable T-Mobile's "Carrier IQ?" Or is it just T-Mobile and Samsung bloat? Might buy that app later.

Might need root to be able to do that. I guess.
This was done on the note 5 prior to root. All the work has been done. @rlsroufe has a few xml's done already extreme and a basic one. I still have my list from the note 5. You can just import one of his and tweak it to your needs.

I realize that it was done on the note5, and your link is a great resource, but the application stack is different on the S7 edge (all the edge applications and new "advanced features" tools. And the lack of snote / pen services) Also marshmallow vs Lollipop, I thought it would be good to have device specific (S7 Edge) information in this thread.

If you import the list you can build off of that. If the app isn't there it cancels out. All the basic apps are there. I use the same apps as lollipop. So the list is almost identical. From my note 5.

OP, I'm disabling apps manually to get it where I want... I'll upload screenshots of it when I'm finished. Look for an update late tonight or tomorrow. We can tinker from there until it's perfect for use.
I believe the EDGE doesn't use CIQ anymore, but doesn't mean they are not using something else which they probably do as the setup process asks for "anonymous data collecting" for network management or something like that.
Here is my list. I copied my list from my Note 5 which I started with the XML file that was posted in the linked thread already. I have been having no issues and after getting the phone on Tuesday it has settled down today and I am at 76% battery left with 8 hours off the charger and 1 hour of screen on time (busy day at work today so far).
Here's mine

Because with Package Disabler you can literally disable any system package.
Here's my list after looking at the couple posted here and adding in my things too. I use Hangouts and pretty much all of the Google stuff (Gmail is blocked because I use Inbox).
Sorry there are so many, you can't scroll screenshot on the S7 Edge

Will do. I'm not sure that it will change that from being the biggest battery "drainer" though... My battery was pretty good already. I know we see that on top and automatically think it's a big drain, but I think it's just that way because nothing else uses much battery.
We shall see though!

That's probably the case. Nonetheless, we see folks on the Exynos variant whose battery stats show significantly less drain from Android System as an overall percentage of battery use over a given charge cycle. Could it be a difference in processor efficiencies, or a TMobile specific "issue?" I have no clue but it's helpful to gather as much information as possible.

Could be the difference in chips. Battery has been great for me as well despite Android System being the biggest "battery hog". Indeed it must be due to the fact that nothing else is consuming much percentage of the battery and if that's the case then it makes sense why Android System would have the highest percentage in battery usage.
I know on my note5 there was something I was disabling that was killing Wi-Fi calling. The packages you are disabling does Wi-Fi calling still work?

SM-910F ROM suggestion needed

Hey all,
I've scoured the development thread for various ROMS, looking for either Android 7 or 8.
Google Maps is no longer working on 6.0.1 (Google Maps Go works, but that app doesn't support other apps, like Strava, which require Google Maps)
My Cox Homelife app requires at least 7
I hate the lack of AM/PM for the clock in 9 and 10
Photoshop Touch no longer works on 10
so I'm looking for something in between like 7 or 8
the links to the build of 7 I found was down.
Any ideas on a good ROM to choose and where to finding a working link?
Thanks.
Try downgrading your Home life app to Version 10.0.0.1387 (supports Android 6 [api 23].
