As latest MIUI roms are encrypted always revert back to 6.8.11 5.1.1 version i have via fastboot, flash twrp then flash any rom

Does it matter if the ROM is encrupted?
I mean i am on locked bootload, china dev 6.9.9
I want to move to global stable 8.0.1 .. so fastboot rom via EDL should work fine, isnt it?
How do I unlock my bootloader on cm14? You have mentioned in second step to make sure the bootloader is unlocked before flashing MIUI 6.7.21 but MiFlashUnlock cannot unlock the bootloader.

for that u need just 1 modem file to flash.. and everything is fine.
Or just backup every partition with alka before flashing cm14 and afterward restore it (ignore firmware) to have your previous rom back with the data and everything and no flashing required. People just overcomplicate things. I've done this with every single combination of roms and bootloaders ... And it always works.
Miui lp, miui mm,cm13, cm14, aosp, you name it

well i can confirm this works. just switched back ti 8.0.1 from dev 6.9.9. (i.e., MM to L) and all is ok.
no need for an unlocked bootloader

Yep
For AOSP stock leaked rom
we cant unlock bootloader sometimes, the only way to revert back is fastboot flash via edl
very handy
Any method for unofficially unlocked bootloader here? Thank you.

Good day i have a problem with my mi 9t. I have installed the miui 11 eu version on my phone and i was using it for a few weeks. I have decided i want to go back to miui 10 global but when i go to flash the rom with mi flash tool i get antiroll back error as seen in the image on this post. I have tried to install via TWRP chinese recovery but the phone shows the logo for a few seconds and then goes straight to the TWRP recovery automatically. I tried installing havoc os pie still same problem. I was reading up about the anitroll back that the miui eu has and i think that the phone is soft bricked because i tried flashing via twrp with anitroll back on my phone. I did the anitroll back test to get the index and i have a antiroll back index of 1. If anyone can help me with this problem or have the solution please give me some help. Thank You
I am able to get into twrp recovery but any rom i flash just reboots back to twrp recovery
Ok I fixed it I just flashed back the miui 11 eu I was using before and it boots up but now I want to flash the new miui 11 global but I'm afraid it may brick again. Only one way to find out.
Have a same problem, what version eu rom work in your MI9T
so i got 6t to international version so I could unlock bootloader. That all worked out well
Then I flash android 10 stock room
Now I cant see to flash recovery.
Im useing all in one toolkit
Phone boots into fastboot mode starts to flash recovery and is stuck at waiting for twrp to boot
I flashed twrp on stock rom android 9 no problems.
I tried to flash linage 17 but it just crashed so I figured I would run stock rom android 10
Stock rom android 10 seems to run fine
but I was really wanted to use this phone for linage os.
What is the a and b thing? do I have some security setting is that why i cant flash recovery in fastboot?
Thanks for takeing the time to read my post

Unlock bootloader , install custom recovery and than you will be able to flash it. Or in the stock updater click 5 times on 11 and than three dots in the corner you will see the option to choose update package.
You can't install MIUI 12 packages from Stock Recovery, you're using the EEA version of the ROM and the packages on XDA are China Builds (and Closed Beta, you don't have the permission to flash it), you have two ways: You can unlock your bootloader, install a custom Recovery that support all MIUI stuff (like OrangeFox) and flash the .zip from the custom Recovery OR just wait for the OTA update (it will take some time, at least 2/3 weeks).
I'm sick of this miui 12, and as I've seen on net miui 12.5 is gonna be worse for the battery.
Or at least can I downgrade to miui 12.02? When I tried, I saw - not allowed from unofficial sites.

Yes, but not directly from updater.
To downgrade, you have to download the fastboot ROM, and flash it with Mi Flash from a computer, with the phone's bootloader unlocked.
You will need to use the "clean all" or "clean all and lock" option when you flash it.
By unlocking bootloader with Mi Unlock, your data will be erased.
