Install one UI 2.0 on Canadian s10+ - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Hi there.
Is it possible to install one UI 2.0 beta on Canadian version? If yes, how to do that? Thanks.

A reminder that the phone has Snapdragon as the US models, but they have the G975U and mine is G975W.

I am also wondering the same thanks for asking the question

Yes - You CAN install the US One UI Beta v2.0 with Patched Odin - You need to Flash the US One UI V1.0 (Pie) First with Patched Odin & Then adb sideload or apply from sd card in Stock Recovery the One UI Beta v2.0 zips ?

Wow, thanks for showing the way. But really if you can give us the more specific guide, it would be great.
Thank you

@shaggyskunk have you tried this method and if so, any problems?

I'm running it (One UI Beta v2.0) - There's a few things to figure out - Mostly with some of the apps that I use - But it's quite stable - Only thing that I really miss is Substratum - But I'm sure it will come eventually ?
BUT - It's probably a good idea to Factory Reset BEFORE you Flash the US One UI V1.0 with Patched Odin - I DID have an issue the first time I Flashed it & Factory Reset after you are on the US One UI V1.0 - Bed you apply the One UI Beta v2.0 zips from Recovery - There's 3 in total as of today.

Hey thanks for input, what carrier are you running and did you notice issue in signals after switching to American variant firmware?

Check this thread, see if you meet the requirements, i wouldn't bother with beta, as Stable offcial version is now released.

You can Download the stock Canadian firmware with Sam or Frija - As for the links to the One UI Beta - They're not some that I can share unfortunately - But Search on XDA for the links to the "U" Builds - That's what I'm using & You need to Flash the Canadian CSC AFTER you have Flashed all the US Firmware - Starting with the US One UI V1.0 Pie Firmware & then the US One UI Beta v2.0 (Betas 1 through 7)?

Thanks. I started with BSI4 from USC (csc). Now applying the betas (7 of them).
So once I finish with all the betas, then I should use Odin Patched to apply the Canadian CSC. Is that right. Also do I restore to factory after each installs. I know I am asking few question, but it helps to feel more comfortable.

Yes - You can apply the One UI Betas from Recovery - (Apply from sd card) & Once you are on One UI Beta v2.0 (Beta 7) - Flash the Canadian CSC with Patched Odin - Yes you will have to Factory Reset - So Backup with Smart Switch before you Flash the Canadian CSC - I Backup to the sd card in the device & not to Smart Switch on my computer fwiw -
You can use Patched Odin to Flash the Canadian One UI V2.0 Stable once it's available - I Factory Reset BEFORE & After Flashing the Stable Release (that's what I did on my S9+ when I was Flashing the US One UI Beta v1.0 last year) ?

I know that Telus has it scheduled for the 16th of December - I've been happily running the One UI Beta v2.0 since it was available - I'm somewhat indifferent to the Stable Release as I don't have any issues with the Beta - But once the Stable version is released I'll be Flashing it ??

I'm quite honestly amazed we are getting it at all in Canada before the end of the year. And on Telus to boot. I haven't messed with the Beta myself but I've heard the most recent release is quite good. I'm still on Pie myself so I'm looking forward to the OTA.

Yes the Beta is remarkably good & zero issues with Beta 7.. I don't know if there's much more that can be done with the Beta to make it better than it is already - I enjoy Flashing the Betas - Because with the Locked Bootloader - There's not much else we can Flash ??

what dialer code?
I have this device for a magazine review since I'm currently working as an editor for droidmagzid.com
This is not a prototype device, or at least I dont think so.. I dont know.
Just got this device early in the morning from my boss for a review.
I was checking the Android version and the build number to match with the latest firmware here on XDA, then I clicked the system update..
and it show an update.. and so I began updating the device. The previous build number was *********413
The CASUAL root method works on this version, I am able to gain root access, CWM recovery, make a nandroid backup, etc..

Hey Guys,
Here is an extracted boot.img, recovery.img, and sboot.bin from the I467UCAMF1 firmware... they have since updated to I467UCAMF2 OTA via AT&T, but it might be worth still looking into making a root/recovery for the MF1 version or possibly seeing if it will also work on MF2 or if it is possible to downgrade via ODIN.

I know this is an old thread, but I just can't let go of this tablet! I need a tablet that is not too big or too small so that I can take notes with it. A 10" tablet gets heavy in your hand after a while. Further, very few tablets come with a built-in stylus. If I have to carry an extra stylus, I would either forget or lose it. In fact, I read a 2017 report that Note 8.0 is considered one of the best tablets for note taking! Enough promotion for this aging (4-year-old) device. Now the reality...
Until anyone comes up with a bootloader exploit, the SGH-I467 (AT&T version)'s obituary is essentially written. Yes, you can root it with KingoRoot. Since it's one-click, it cannot get simpler. However, if you can't bypass the bootloader, you are stuck with 4.4.2.
However, the Canadian version (SGH-I467M) has an unlocked bootloader. If anyone would just port a kernel for this tablet, it would give this one many more years of life. Even with the GT-N5120 Lineage OS 14.1 ROM and Boeffla kernel, I can get LTE connection and Nougat out of the box. Light sensor and MIC are still broken, which is expected since this is N5120's kernel. N5120 has two MICs and proximity sensor while I467M has only one MIC and no proximity sensor. I assume N5120's kernel on an I467M would be looking for the wrong MIC and there is some correlations between the proximity and light sensors. Bluetooth is also broken. I don't have explanation for it. I can't explain either why Boeffla kernel would enable the LTE connection since the European radio bands are different than the North American ones. I'm happy it's fixed though! The native kernel from the 14.1 Lineage OS can never establish the radio link though it does see the SIM and IMEI. (The 13.0 LOS cannot detect the IMEI and SIM at all and Boeffla in this case cannot fix it either.)
I am not a developer, but if anyone is willing to port a kernel for SGH-I467M to work with LOS 14.1, I'd be happy to be your beta tester. Thank you

SGH-I467 (NOT I467M, the Canadian version) has a locked bootloader. Once it is upgraded to KitKat, you cannot go back to JB! When I used to hack SGH-I467, I downloaded the -AMF1 firmware (the only one in circulation), thinking if anything went wrong, I could always re-flash with this official firmware. Boy, I learned my lesson when I bricked it. Since mine already had Kitkat, this official JB firmware in circulation is useless. I almost sold it for parts until I came across someone on eBay offering the KitKat firmware!

It's funny Samsung released the kernel source code for a tablet with a locked bootloader. What can you do with it? I think they are doing it for the sake of fulfilling their open source obligation.
On the other hand, if SGH-I467 and SGH-I467M share very similar kernel, I can imagine someone can port it for SGH-I467M. I am actively looking for a kernel for the Canadian version, I467M, to extend the life of my Note 8.0
I have both I467 and GT-N5110, and are both on the latest 4.4.2 introduced last year about this time.
I am not a dev, but since owning the two devices, i have modded my tablets to be nearly identical. The GT-N5110 has Boeffla kernel and the I467 is stock.
Both run circles around any developed ROM, as for 10 hours of use on battery and no issues, plus mods from S5, Tab 4 and wee mods never released in any developed firmwares to complete a full featured gallery, and allow color blind, interactive control and grey scale mode.
It took messing with 5 different roms and combining missing systrm files for adding hidden features in stock framework and touch wiz.
Only needed a wee mod to remove the few stage fright mp4 issues to button up left over security issues.

I want to make sure we can still unlock the phone. We should be able to get a complete CM13 now if the bootloader can still obtain perm unlock and we have perm root.
I haven't seen any new phone released since our Note 4s that delivers every feature I want plus more, so I'm planning on sticking with our note 4s for some time to come.

Anyone using one of the UX versions as daily driver?

I was hoping to wait long enough for international version, but I need to rebuild the phone. So is anyone using one of the UX versions in the dev section as a DD?
official UX by AndroidWizard
it is the most stable for me out there with stock kernel I was on completely stock rooted before I change to it
Im using lamlazys rom from samsung vn. Its nice only except multilang.

Khongloi rom with extreme kernel 3.0
Have used @Androidwizzard's release as a daily driver for quite some time now. Been bouncing among a few kernels such as Xtreme Kernel V3 and Nemesis but am currently back on stock kernel to reassess battery life, which also seems to be the most stable and long lasting.

depends on the variant I think. Some 920C got UX updates as well as 9208 versions on Taiwan.
And some reported that Korean Versions got updated today to nougat.

How to NOT install
Hi,
I had registered in the members app to be part of the BETA program but then - given the bugs appearing - wanted to refrain.
So I unregistered in the members app.
However, the phone already started downloading the beta. Now i was able to pause the download, but after 2 days (and 1 restart) it still shows the progress.
Any way I can securely and fully stop the download & installation of the beta?
Thanks, Moritz

You get the beta from here : https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/how-to/android-10-beta-mega-mirror-t3990851
You can also get any stock S10+ rom from https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and flash it your S10+ no matter where you bought it. All the S10+'s are the same no matter where you get them from. They are set up to your carrier by the Sim card installed.
I took my Verizon bought S10+ and Odin loaded U1 AT&T software so I could have an unlocked phone. Them I loaded the latest Android 10 Beta rom on it so now I have an unlocked (0 carrier bloat) S10+ on Verizon with Andoid 10 One UI2, HD calling, VOLTE and everything else they offer. Now it also is blazing fast with a long lasting battery.

Here is a forum that is the problems with the Beta. https://forum.xda-developers.com/s10-plus/how-to/bugs-oneui-2-0-android-10-beta-t3983463
I think mine works so well since I am on Verizon and don't use the apps they are having problems with.

No lag for me but I use Nova as launcher and have it tweaked for speed. I also have all the animation settings set to 0 in Developer options.
Ok thanks for the input. May give it a go

You can always Odin back to 9 but that would require a factory reset so a backup to Smartswitch or some other way would be suggested.
Yeah I'll likely do that. Even if its laggy for me, hey it's not forever is it so I'll just put up with it.
