Dear xda and Users,
I wanted to increase the installation storage while i was using GB 2.3 official then updated to DZO aurora ics rom.
I used partition from xda threads and kept official partition file also as back up everything worked well in dzo aurora then i felt i need to do it in GB 2.3 and try without doing the official partition in CWM.
I put DLOAD folder with official GB 2.3 and did an update with pressing + and - with power button. The update fails every time and all i can get is the android system recovery <3e> i do not even get a usb folder pop up in windows on the pink screen.
I cant even install or run any zips of rom because signature verification fails :'(

It seems that you /data partition is damaged. You can try to format it from a linux machine. If you connect the device in pink screen mode on a linux system, you can see and other partitions(I think /data included). Then maybe you can format it from gparted for e.g)

If you have pink screen you could make a restore from the full flash.bin, there is a tutorial in a thread on this forum, i unbricked mine this way.
Good Luck
I will try and get back to you all
i will try the linux full flash and let you all know if i was successful
EDIT- thanks for all the support i finally got it working back with the huawei full flasher in linux mode thank you so much

Invalid partition selection for Internal Storage.

I am new to the world of tech and have a (what I believe anyway) is a massive issue with my S7 Edge. I successfully rooted the phone and then for some unknown reason I used TWRP to change the file system on Internal Storage to Fat32 or Fat. Cannot say for sure. Apologies. Now, I have a phone which suggests that I am using 31GB of the 32GB on the phone yet I know that when I use TWRP to look at the size DATA only has 4GB of which there is 141MB free? The other 28GB is there but is inaccessible. I had all my photos and videos on there and they have all disappeared. One thing to note is that when I changed the file system of Internal Storage it factory reset the phone but did show me that it was 25GB space wise so I lost everything but it was trying to restore from a backup which just failed as there was not enough space I think although I did not get an error. I am unable to (proper) factory reset the phone due to multiple mount issues and also because I think it has something to do with not being able to write to the correct partitions. I am using TWRP 3.0.0-0. I go to Wipe/Advanced Wipe/ select Internal Storage, then Repair or Change File System and get the Invalid Partition Selection in red. The same happens when I select Dalvik / ART Cache. I have the latest version of ODIN. I literally have ran out of ideas and have invested in a 128GB SD Card which I will use for mass storage by using adb shell. I am hopeful there is an answer.

Was this issue ever solved?

E: Unable to mount on hard reset screen and while wipe in twrp. Phone stuck on logo

I'm a noob here. Below is the sequence of events.
1. I was already running on low internal storage (No external sdcard)
2. Phone switches off due to low battery
3. Switched on after a full battery and got this msg-"encryption unsuccessful with 'reset all' button"
4. After few restarts stuck at logo screen
5. Tried hard reset (for factory reset)- getting E: unable to mount cache recovery log
6. Tried wiping cache system dalvik data through twrp- getting unable to mount data system cache error
Tried changing filesystem to ext4 but that didnt work. Tried checking other threads but couldnt find a similar scenario.
Thanks!

Ext4 is the default filesystem. Change it to fat and then revert back to ext4 again. It will repair your partition.

Tried doing that. I get a message-
E: Error changing file system
updating partition details...
E: unable to mount /system /cache /data
ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING- twrp shows internal storage as 0 MB and no OS installed.
I think I corrupted my partitions or something to do with encryption.

I tried cache and data partitions to fat from ext4.
Dalvik cache partition is something ghat is showing as- "file system options are not available for this partition"

Change data or system partition. If system partition shows 0mb in details section after tapping on 'change or repair fs', then change fs of 'system' partition.
But if data shows zero, then change fs of 'data'.

Both system and data partitions (and cache too) are showing 0mb size in details. I tried changing fs but arriving at the same error.
No matter what operation I try to do, i see unable to mount system data cache error lines coming up.
i am having same prblem i tried all this bt always got error unable to repair system data cache
i tried flashing qfil method not works still stuck on boot

J5 data recovery

Hi
I have a dead (not responding nor charging) J510FN. There was no encryption activated on the device
FOr the purpose of data recovery from the internal memory I got hold on a eMMC reader. I could recover something like 27 partitions from it, including the userdata partition (around 11,5GB)
Looking with a hex editor through the file I can see its basically full with data. But I didn't have any success yet in recovering any files. I tried to mount the .bin file and run a recovery program (ext4) through it, but couldnt get any files at all.
Someone can give me a hand on this?

EDI-AL10 Data Problem

I have quite an unusual problem with my Huawei Honor Note 8 EDI-AL10.
On the Surface it boots up OK, functions OK and you would not know there are any issues.
The Bootloader is unlocked via DC-Unlocker code (confirmed by software) and the phone is rooted (confirmed).
I have TWRP installed via ADB (it's a version modded for this phone since there is not a specific version for it).
I am able to create and restore a Nandroid backup.
The phone is on on Android 7 and was trying to upgrade to Android 8, or perhaps try a custom ROM when I found that TWRP literally can't do anything with the Data folder/partition.
It can't mount it or wipe it. A Google search found a common problem which only needed for me to change to fat and then back to ext3 but like I said it let's you do nothing.
Things i have tried so far are:
Wipe/Advanced wipe/data/FAILED UNABLE TO MOUNT DATA
Wipe/Format Data/type yes, press Enter, begin erase, fails because
FAILED UNABLE TO MOUNT DATA
Wipe/Advanced wipe/repair or Change File System/Resize File
System/FAILED UNABLE TO MOUNT DATA
Wipe/Advanced wipe/repair or Repair File System/Resize File
System/FAILED UNABLE TO MOUNT DATA
Wipe/Advanced wipe/Change or Change File System/Resize File
System/FAILED UNABLE TO MOUNT DATA - Unable to convert to Ext2, Fat,
Ext3 or exFat FAILED UNABLE TO MOUNT DATA
Basically Data is bullet proof and you cant touch it.
The size of data shows as 0 in TWRP, yet it is not? It may be corrupt but I can't clear it.
Within the Android OS if I I go to Factory reset and follow it, it just takes me to TWRP then when I reboot all is unchanged.
Could it be TWRP? But all else seems OK so unlikely. I have tried other versions some claiming to be modded for this phone but they don't work - they crash the phone and then I have to reinstall the original TWRP via
the PC and ADB.
I tried following some guides to format data using ADB but it didn't work.
I have not encrypted the phone.
Any ideas anyone?
If you are suggesting anything technical please put in layman's terms.
Many thanks.
Eric.
