Hi fellow XDA members,
Following the most recent update of my Canadian Galaxy S10+ I started seeing this unusual set of arrows flashing in on the lock screen as though they are hinting at something. I tired executing a gesture in that area or swiping the screen from right to left, to no effect. All I ever get is a prompt to scan my fingerprint. Does anyone know what this is and why its showing up?
Screenshot is attached.
Thanks all!

It'd a part of the dynamic lockscreen.
Go to settings, lockscreen then dynamic lockscreen.
Thanks! Mystery solved

Hey guys I've got another question. Does anybody know how to remove the clock from the lock screen?
I've gone through Setting>My Device>Lock Screen and have everything turned off.
I've even downloaded an app called "Lockscreen Policy" which has an option to disable Widget and/or Camera, I've switched both of them off as well. I don't remember the app saying anything about needing root to work.
Really annoying that the stupid clock is covering my Lock Screen Wallpaper especially when the Notification Bar is on the Lockscreen and that has a clock on it anyway.
Thanks in advance.

If you swipe down from the clock it will expand the widget. You can then long press it and drag it to the trash can that appears at the top of the screen.
Be aware, though, that if you do not have any widget there you will just see a screen with a big "+" sign asking you to add a new widget and once the phone locks the clock widget will reappear. The only way to get it to go away permanently is to replace it with a different widget.
Hope this helps.

Yea i just tried it out and see what you mean. I just don't understand the point of it being mandatory to have something. That ****s raining on my customization parade. Thanks for the input.

You should disable the stock lockscreen all together and give WidgetLocker a try. It works really well on my wife's Note 2, and it's super customizable.

I try this and is says "unable to edit in security mode". I understand I may need to "unlock" the phone w/ the security code - but how do I get back to remove the lock screen clock if I do that? I am trying to get Dashclock Widget going, but this is blocking me.
Any thoughts?

Do you have a pattern or PIN lock set? I don't think the widgets work with those.

You are correct. PIN/Pattern doesn't work with other widgets. Thanks man.
Solved it
Hi, folks -- registered just to report that I have solved this problem. Download Minimalistic Text (free), though I'm sure you already have it. Enable Multiple Widgets on the phone, then add a blank Minimalistic Text widget. Delete your clock as described above and enjoy.
even easier: Blank Lockscreen Widget (Play Store)
galaxy s4 lockscreen
This has probably already been mentioned by now but for those still strugglimg with this. Drag down the screen from were the message and clock is. Click the pen looking icon to edit delete txt and uncheck clock if that is not required. Then press save in the top right and your lock screen will be clear :good:

Drag down the life companion message and click edit. Delete text and uncheck clock if also not required then press save. No app or root required just needs to be edited from the lock screen. May need to disable your lock security while you edit. Hope this helps
hide lock screen clock Android 4.3
Hey guys,
I recently got a Note 3 discovered that you cannot remove the lock screen clock. Simply doesn't allow you the option to.
But I found a way to hide it using the "personal message" feature.
Turn personal message on in the lock screen options menu.
Simply uncheck the clock and date boxes and space across a single character (as it won't allow you to have no text but will allow you a space which is invisible anyways..) and then hit save.
So then the next time you go to wake up your phone the lock screen clock will be gone!
I really don't like the way you are literally forced to have a lock screen clock!?!?
I often change my lock screen and desktop wallpapers and don't like the screen to be cluttered with text I don't want to see..
I have only tested this method on my Galaxy Note 3 so I am unsure if this will work on other Android phones..
Also what I have found strangely enough is normally there would be a half to one second lag for the display to sleep when I lock the phone.
This lag seems to have all but gone now that I specified a personal message (even though its blank) and hid the clock & date. Bonus!!
Hope this helps. Apologies if this has been previously covered..
Have fun!

Thanks so much for this now if I can just find away for it not to show that you have a text message on the lock screen things will be great.
FIxed.
Hay guys.
Sorry for the late reply. But I found a way to remove everything on lockscreen...
Date, time and also the unlock icon and rings.
But for now to remove clock simply allow lockscreen widgets then download zooper widget and replace your stock clock widget with an blank zooper widget.
Hope i helped.
[Rooted Phone] I found this xposed module and it's working fine http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.ssrdroide.lockscreenclockmods
HI all,
As far as I can tell you cant use lock screen widgets with pattern or pin lock. The lock screen widgets can only be used if swipe is enabled Am i missing something here? I've played around with all the lock screen options and they disappear as soon as I change the security to pin or pattern. This really sucks
Thanks for pointing that out man! I was already wondering why that is so. But swipe = no security! Wow, Samsung, really?
While I found reviews on YT about lock screen widgets, I didn't pay attention if that was why they got it to work.
Yeah that really sucks.. i hope someone finds a workaround for this
Here is the workaround, at least on the S3.
You have to enable swipe AND pattern. See this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2240376

Such a thing isn't available in my settings. Could you provide a screenshot with Android 4.2.2?
As I stated, this is how it is on the S3 (running 4.1.2) - it may not be the same for the S4. You have to check the box next to "With Swipe Lock", then, in the S3 at least, you have the option to set up the lockscreen and widgets. So in S3, you have to swipe, and then do the pattern. YMMV.
I can't post a screenshot - the hosting websites are blocked where I am.

I know what you are talking about bud, I have that option in my Note 2 but it doesn't exist on S4.

Doesn't work for me either. Quite disappointing as widgets and a lock should be standard.
I'm sure there isn't a way, but I figured asking wouldn't hurt. Has anyone found a way to remove the annoying text and lock icon on the lockscreen? I noticed that the AT&T version doesn't have it all, and the Verizon version has just the lock icon. I just find the "Swipe in any direction to unlock" text obnoxious lol. I could live with the lock icon, it's just the text mostly. Trivial I know lol if anyone has noticed a setting I've missed let me know. Thank you

Glad I'm not the only one who hated that. I hope someone figures it out.
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I also am wondering if there is a way to get rid of this. It is quite annoying me since it is like right there in the middle of the screen
(T-Mo) G2 lockscreen is a bit of a mess, yes. not to mention that some of the swiping effects inverse the color randomly (and appear black) for no reason. to use a custom lockscreen wouldn't be a good idea either because then you lose the double tap to power it off from the lockscreen. i presume we would need an xposed module mod for all this.
It seems like the official Nougat builds are really horrible when it comes to notifications. I no longer have the option to turn on the display when receiving a notification, which is huge. But on top of that, I don't seem to get any notifications on the lock screen at all, or "heads up" notifications (the notifications that drop down from the top of the screen while it's on temporarily). Am I wrong? Have others gotten this stuff working? I am on AL10.
Well I got lock screen stuff going, it was just defaulting to disabled. But there seems to be no option to wake the display for notifications.

Hi,
I have NXT-AL10. Just got the phone 2 days back and I installed Android Nougat 7.0 directly from Huawei using Huawei ID.
I found a setting that may be the one or at least close to it.I also checked if the notification is displaying on the lock screen and it does. I have attached the screenshots.
When I unlock the phone and check the notifications they are there until I swipe them out. They are displayed beautifully. Unfortunately taking screenshot of that was bit difficult as the knuckle thing didn't work so well. I managed to get these. Hope this is what you are looking for.
Cheers!

I had an issue similar to this on 6.0, it was an issue with themes. Do you have anything under the screen lock style menu, under screen lock and passwords? I have a feeling thats my issue.

Hi,
I checked under screen lock and passwords
options listed are
password, secure lock settings , smart unlock - under the subheading of "passwords"
under "lock screen"
screen lock style, magazine unlock and lock screen signature
under screen lock style
it just displays magazine unlock and when you click that it displays the same wallpaper and asks to apply.
under "magazine unlock settings"
subscriptons, auto-update over WLAN and auto-delete covers
There is a separate application called "Themes" and it shows all the themes. They all look alike but there is no download or edit options available. Even if we want to change or edit those themes, it seems like root is required. Are you rooted?
I have enclosed more screenshots to explain better. Hope you find what you are looking for, if I missed something please let me know if you want screenshot of any other menu or screen.
Cheers!

Is there a way to view the notifications on the lock screen without actually having to unlock the phone?
I have the settings enabled in "Show all content" in lock screen.
When an email through Gmail comes in, it shows on lock screen, but when I go back to the lock screen, all I see is a Gmail icon and not the actual message itself.
Edit: I guess I mean to show notification on the "ambient display".....
same here, i tried many things no luck.
same here
any further update on this? im hoping someone could fix/change it some day
same here
Mine shows content but I also do NOT have a lock on my device, I just swipe. This probably doesn't help but just thought I'd throw it out there
Mine shows and I do have a lock set.
Ia yours shown in locked screen or ambient display?

But you have to enable the screen taking the phone, isn't right?
I'm interested on the possibility to get notifications on the screen not having to wake up the display. I understand that the notification of missed call i.e. after awhile disappear and the only method to check for it is by taking the phone. I don't have the OP6T yet but I'm considering to buy it but I have some concern about this item.
In the past I had experience with NoLED. It does the job but I recall on Samsung Galaxy S2 time, it was causing some battery draining. I wonder if anyone has tested it on the OP6T.
This app may be pretty close or exactly what your looking for. read through the thread for some root tweaks toy can do to make it even more useful.

I´ve probably found out the solution. Go to Screen -> Ambient display - > new notifications -> enable it. Now you should see notifications when the screen is locked.
Is there a way to unlock the screen with swipe on the ambient display?
