i tried to find my answers to this question in the TWRP Thread but with all the answers this thread seems to be a little bit out of order and overwhelming.
So i've tried to root my thinkpad with a lot of troubles.. didnt worked and now it is on 8.1.0. Now it suggests me an update but unfortunately i cant even do that anymore.
so today i saw that there is lineageos 16 out there for the tab. but to install it, it seems that i have downgrade it first. so long story short question: how do i do that?
Where did you find a lineage version for the TB-8504X?

I have the Moto X Force, I believe it is the Brazil verison.
I previously installed CM 13, don't remember exactly how but it worked fine.
It's been a little buggy, and I wanted to try the stock rom, and I see that 7.0 came out.
I am trying to figure out how to install it correctly, but the instructions are often difficult to understand - I know how to follow them, but there are so many methods and I don't know which ones to use.
1. Which method should I be using (you can just forward me to the relevant post I can figure it out from there)?
2. Will the phone still be rooted?
Thanks for the help
Folks,
I finally decided to go for LineageOS 16.0 on my Moto G5+ and i am currently on the stock Oreo firmware. I have tried multiple methods to ensure that TWRP sticks (as described in various threads) but so far it doesn't seem to work. I think it would be great if one of you could put together a fresh post on how to get this done including the links to the custom TWRP images (if needed), Magisk etc. Otherwise there are just too many conflicting threads out there. Can someone help?
Thanks a ton in advance.
I literally just did this to my stock 8.1 RETUS and it was a little scattered around, but manageable to do. Here are some links that I used that may help:
1. These are the correct steps to follow in order still https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/how-to/how-to-root-moto-g5-plus-t3579659
2. This is a pretty decent video showing the above steps https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fGmDNZxn2g
All I can say that is really different from the provided links I gave you is: make sure you are using the latest stable version of magisk (v17.1), and I used the "lazyflasher file" from the youtube video instead of the "no verify" file from the xda post. I think I did this because I the link to the xda file no longer worked? And I also used the latest TWRP 3.2.2? But like I said, this is all actually pretty simple in the end. I haven't rooted a phone since my Note 3 with KNOX LOL. Hope I helped, feel free to ask questions.
I've been reading the ROMs forum here for months and I've tried several of the ROMs, many of which are terrific.
I'm still having trouble figuring out exactly what is going on with device encryption with Android 9.0 ROMs for the Moto G5 Plus. Most of the ROM threads say in the first post that encryption isn't (or might not be) working. It seems like some people are able to use encryption anyway — maybe if they already encrypted the device before installing the new ROM, I'm not sure.
I find it hard to believe the developers don't care about it, so I'm assuming there's some logistical complication, but it's been hard to find a straight answer as to the problem.
So what's going on with encryption and what is the outlook? Can someone clarify? I can't be the only one trying to figure it out.
Thanks!
Hi all,
It's been quite a while, getting on for 10 years, since I've been running a custom ROM.
I'm quite comfortable with the process of flashing, I have done it many times before, just a little lost when trying to track down the latest/recommended compatible versions of Odin and TWRP for the T530 (Galaxy Tab 4 10.1).
I've been having a pick through on the Galaxy Tab 4 forums here, but I couldn't find a thread which clearly stated which versions of these apps to use and where to find them.
Can anybody provide this information?
TIA
Edit to add that I'm intending on flashing [ROM][UNOFFICIAL][matisse][millet] LineageOS 16.0 if that makes any difference
OK, So I totally missed the link to the recovery I'd need in the thread for Lineage 16, lol
Just going to try and track down odin now
I have a G530-R4 (gprimelteusc) that I've rooted and have twrp on. I'm looking for a working version of lineageOS that I can put on it. But I cannot find one. Hell, I've even tried going through the old CyanogenMod archives but can't find any there. I've found sites that say there are working versions, but the links to download are all dead. at this point, I was wondering if there was a version made for a model close to this one that would work and not brick the stupid thing. This is running factory android and I want a newer version fo android on it, doesn't have to be the latest just something more usable than the factory, that newer apps can be installed on. Thanks for the help in advance.....
