Hello all,
I have a zenfone 5 which used to run on custom rom so i decided to revert it back to stock rom but when i wiped system, cache and dalvik, it didn't go well and now i cannot start phone unless going into recovery. Twrp tells me those errors : unable to mount cache unable to mount system.
Tried flashing custom rom again but it didn't work too. Any helps please :/
here is the error screen i get when i try wipe eksiup. com/p/8i2584483xo8
ps: my phone's usb is not working as a connector to pc i.e. pc cannot recognise the phone. please keep this in mind.

I think we have the same problem. You need to solve the USB issue first. Remove all the adb drivers and reinstall from scratch.
You will know if you did it right because when you plug the phone in in bootloader, there is no yellow exclamation mark in device manager.

Guys, need help. I used this way way back (genokolar partition) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112857 Im planning to go for ICS yesterday, i flash back the official partition, now my phone stuck at IDEOS logo. I tried wiping everything and reflash (tried MIUI,CM7,Elite SX still no luck). I use Miui before flashing the official partition. Im pretty sure i did what the step asked. Flash, no clear/wipe. Stuck at Ideos screen. Then i clear and wipe still the same. Then i go to the pink screen, restore back the original recovery and BOOT files, and flash back the official froyo, error at 2/2 update. I cant mount data in cmw. Tried factory reset in recovery but no luck, got error msg ( Mount data error ) using 4.0.0.5. I cant delete/wipe data.Keep giving me error mount data. Even in official recovery cant mount, got msg ( no such directories,Can't Mount @(or/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 ). Is this the problem ? How can i mount the data back?

Did you try official gb? You don't need froyo, it has wrong kernel for ics aurora.

Can't mount sd? Go to recovery, take your sd out, and put it back in. If that works, you try flahing the custom partition again (not the original partition). After that, try flashing a rom.
Edit: but try to flash the original again first. Make sure you flash it, reboot recovery, flash it again, reboot recovery, and then flash your rom.

After installing Quarx's CM 10.2 october 30th nightly (defy, not plus) the device seemed to be working normal but I then soon noticed that no internal storage is detected. (meaning I also could not install apps from the play store) Upon restarting, I go through the entire 'first time' sequence again and any thing I did before I restarted was not saved. I think this is because, when entering TWRP and going to mount, data is the only partition that it will not allow me to mount. Attempting to wipe the data partition yields the result 'unable to mount /data'. Is it possible to mount somehow in adb or terminal? Is anyone else having this issue? And is there any known fix?

Well , I had this problem too , but not with this ROM , enter in Motorola stock recovery , and make a wipe , after that , you should flash again a SBF , and put it again.. , or if you can still flash something , try to flash the 10.2 CM again.

But it won't let me. :/ Like I said before, attempting to wipe the data partition just gives me 'Unable to mount /data'. Does that mean the partition is corrupted, or can it be mounted somehow in the terminal? This has really become a headache...
As an update, I actually was able to wipe in the stock recovery, but going back to TWRP now shows that both my data and cache partitions cannot be mounted (or still corrupted). Would flashing a new sbf fix that? I can still access cyanogen if I boot normally but it is the same as before, no internal storage and nothing is saved after reboot.

Did you try to wipe data and cache in stock recovery ? I don't know if you will flash a SBF will fix that , try to wipe data and cache too , and after that if you can't boot , flash a SBF.
So apologies is this is done to death, but I've screwed something up.
My phone is rooted/unlocked and I had twrp installed.
I tried to install a lineageos rom but it didnt work, and it would get stuck booting.
I can still get into fastboot and twrp, but I don't know what to do from there. I have tried install the stock recovery and then installing the stock emui rom but it doesn't seem to be working, and I can't seem to find a thorough walkthrough of what I need to do.
I have the Japanese version of the phone (WAS-LX2J) if that helps.
So I can force into TWRP using adb reboot recovery
When I get into TWRP the UI is all red - it used to be blue? I might have just installed a different version but seems strange to have gone red now.
Whenever I try to wipe data, or format data, I get a bunch of errors:
unable to recreate /data/media folder
unable to mount storage
unable to mount /data/media/twrp/.twrps
unable to open '/dev/block/dm-0' to wipe crypto key
etc
I am also unable to repair, resize or change the file system apparently.
Okay I reinstalled twrp (from here) and that problem seems to be solved. (in red)
I would basically just like to restore my phone to factory but I don't know how, any help would be hugely appreciated.
I can provide any more info if required, I just dont have a way to screenshot my phone atm
Hi,
my mother's Lenovo A6000 stuck on bootlogo. I can enter recovery. Is any chance to get the data, especially contacts? Is there a possibility to flash rom without wiping data? I couldn't find answer on this forum. And I'm not shure, if there was Android 4.4 or Android 5 before. Can I find it somehow? Thanks a lot for any help.
In recovery I can see kraft-a6000_s062_161223. So it should be Android 5 Lollipop. Is that right?
Wipe the cache partition and reboot the phone if it works.
Or, You can try to install TWRP recovery ..if installation get success then connect the phone with a pc via a usb cable and transfer files to pc .idk it would be work or not.

I needed to use this phone, so I made factory reset. So I can't try your advice any more. I tried to wipe cache before, but it didn't help. I didn't try to install TWRP recovery. I only used some apps (Dr.Fone, EaseUs, Jihosoft, etc.), but nothing helped. But thank you anyway.
man just dirty flash the same rom above the old one then wipe cache and dalvik
done
"i did this today without losing data"

Too late for me, but thanks for responce.
Hi all,
Recently it's been restarting every once in a while.
I have TWRP installed, so I went into recovery mode and factory data reset my device to start fresh of course backing up all my data.
But me being the cleverclogs went into Wipe -> Advanced Wipe and selected all the boxes thinking it will do a proper cleanout (Dalvik/ART Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache, Micro SDCard). But when I try to reboot it there's a msg saying "No OS installed! Are you sure you wish to power off?".
When restarting the phone it just goes back to ASUS IN SERCH OF INCREDIBLE
How can I install the stock ROM or I might even try custom ROMS (any recommendations?). I haven't installed a custom ROM since the Samsung Galaxy II days so I'm a complete noob again.
I have two Rom in the Internal Memory, one Asus stock and one of LianogenOS 16, but when trying to install, in both they give me the same error, MD5 NOT FOUND
I have copied the two ROMs into a micro SD, but it is not shown with the TWRT File Explorer
I am trying to send a ROM to Internal Memory with ADB push from Minimal Adb but it gives me an error.
Maybe I could install an .img ROM from Fastboot Mode?
Where can I find any?
Thanks for your help.
