Stuck at boot animation

I do not know if this question has been brought up before, but I am in desperate need of an answer. I recently got my 6P and immediately proceeded to unlock the bootloader and flash TWRP to start loading custom roms. I decided to start use Pure Nexus with it's accompanying gapps package but when I go to reboot the device, I am stuck at the circles boot animation. I decide to try CM13 nightlies and the same problem occurs. After searching online for some time, I realize I needed to flash a SuperSU file from recovery that flashes a custom boot.img. I flash Version 2.66 and restart the device. After 5+ minutes on the boot screen, I decided I am stuck still. What do I need to do, I am unable to boot the device.
Thanks.
I'd use Nexus Root Toolkit to unbrick your phone just so that it is working to start with. Then follow the steps more closely for installing a rom. You'll be doing something wrong, I've had no issues!! Best of luck with this.
hmm I'm not sure. this is happening to me right now as I try to restore my backups... maybe has to do with twrp's system handling/mounting, but I just don't know.

Soft bricked my phone, could somebody help me?

Hi everyone, sorry for a noob problem but I seemed to have soft bricked my phone and was hoping that somebody here would be able to help me out. I have an A2017U in the US.
A short history:
I had been using my phone on B20 rooted/locked with tenfar's tool for about 3 months now, and decided I would try and update it finally before the new year.
To update it, after reading it seemed I would need to unlock the bootloader to keep root on B29 so I decided first step would be to unlock the bootloader and then update to B29. I did the following steps today
1) Unlock bootloader using DrakenFX's guide here http://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-how-to-unlock-bootloader-stay-t3461165 The unlocked proved successful and I was able to boot back into B20 after all the data was wiped, and I followed the instruction to backup the Boot in TWRP. All good.
2) I then decided to follow another of DrakenFX's guides (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68873482&postcount=2) to update from B20 to B29. I followed the instructions exactly again, but then the phone just hangs on the ZTE logo on boot infinitely. I wondered if I made a mistake when re-initializing TWRP after unlocking the bootloader. I did a search and found in "Mount" to uncheck "Mount system partition read-only" and unchecked it. The System partition however is unmounted, I'm not sure if that's normal now or not. Even when I check it, after rebooting it goes away. I've checked the MD5 of the ZTE_A2017U.B29_StockSystem_by_DrakenFX.zip file and it's good. I then flashed through fastboot to the new 3.0.3-0 TWRP which I'm now using, and still nothing. It appears I don't have an OS installed. I'm going to guess here the issue is with a setting in TWRP but I've tried everything I could find. Unfortunately I don't seem to have a copy of my stock recovery right now to flash either. I've tried several times to flash ZTE_A2017U.B29_StockSystem_by_DrakenFX.zip and reboot but to no avail. I even tried this tip from rczrazor to delete DATA first and others one by one (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69428659&postcount=136) but no such luck for me. Still stuck on the ZTE logo.
tl;dr - I have access to fastboot and TWRP, but apparently no ROM installed even though have flashed now multiple times.
If anybody could help me I would greatly appreciate it. I'm even willing to pay a few bucks in Paypal to help get me going again.
Thank you all in advance.

I have bricked my AXON 7 many times during the last week. The Zip files from DrakenFX are very good. But in case those were still failling...
First, check for corrupted downloads, just check the zip file integrity using 7zip, winRAR or any other tool.
Use TWRP 3.0.3
Try a different ROM such as ZADMix or even CM13.
If everything fails:
Flash TWRP 3.0.2 signed.
Flash the original Stock B29 Boot partition and reboot to recovery
Flash again the verified DrakenFX files.

How to root/flash your VS985 if it is runnning Android 6 or lower

THIS IS FOR THE LG G3 VERIZON VS985
ALL STEPS ARE NECESARY TO BOOT TO 4.4.2, ROOT IN KINGOROOT, INSTALL TWRP, FLASH NEW ROM.
Please backup your old ROM if you want to have a quick way to go back to your old phone, but updating from 4.4.2 should work fine.
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BRICK YOUR PHONE
Step 1. Download your TOT file, the one linked below is 4.4.2
http://www.mediafire.com/file/6ip22jjhk7g3kgz/LG+G3+VS985+10B_03+Stock+TOT.zip THIS IS 4.4.2
Step 2. Download LGUP. This will allow you to flash to the TOT file above. The youtube video linked details how to do this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIHTx6a_kDI
You will have to put your phone into download mode to do this.
Step 3. You should now be using Rooted Android 4.4.2.Install Kingoroot, and root. Now install TWRP. The video linked below will help you out with this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHGQ5X4C1so
Step 4. Now with TWRP installed, find your ROM. The ROM I have linked below is based on Android 5.1, and works well.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...9-skydragon-g3-vs985-kvt49l-vs98512b-t2967868
Step 5. Flash your new ROM using TWRP. The video below will help you out.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ix7rrKS4keI
If at any point during flashing, your phone will not turn on and flashes blue and red, press and hold vol up + power. This will bring you to the TWRP
screen, where you can flash a new ROM.
If you want to find your own ROM, please make sure it is specifically for the VS985 if that is your phone. Otherwise, issues like the one mentioned
above will occur.
If you have any questions or problems, email me at [email protected] or message me. I would be glad to help.
Thanks for the instructions. I applied VS98510B_03.tot using LGUP to my verizon vs985 (on marshmallow stock rom) to downgrade from marshmallow to kitkat. On reboot, it went into bootloop on verizon logo (not LG logo for hardware bootloop). It turned out a factory reset was all that was needed to clear up the verizon logo bootloop. Afer kingoroot, I flashed twrp, but was puzzled when power+down start went to stock recovery instead of twrp. It turns out that due to twrp relying on bump, you can't go directly to twrp recovery on reboot using physical buttons. i used official twrp app to reboot to twrp recovery. The custom rom I updated was Lineageos 17.1. Unfortunately twrp flash failed with version mismatch. The solution was to use winrar to edit updater-script in the rom zip file and remove the first line which performs the check.

It seems this bricking was a common failure. Sorry to anyone that I put through this headache. coldsprings statement about the physical buttons is absolutely right. To go back to stock I took the battery out, plugged the phone in, put the battery back in (at this point try a factory reset, it didnt work for me) Then follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-vs985-flash-back-to-stock-kdz-method.2928140/

No longer able to boot into TWRP after flashing a ROM

Hello all,
I own a VS995 LG V20, which I rooted a few months back, and it was working fine, until I very recently switched to T-Mobile. I had some issues with the 4G LTE and after doing a lot of research I read the best solution was to flash a US996 ROM, so that's what I did. I flashed the NotSoStock US996 ROM+Kernel
Good news, the phone boots up, everything works, 4G LTE works...yay....
Bad news.... whenever I try to enter TWRP, it loops on the TWRP boot screen until I remove the battery and boot the phone normally...
I guess this is a reverse TWRP boot loop? :s
I discovered this today when I attempted to boot into TWRP to flash a new kernel to stop the ugly static boot screen thing.
I have tried flashing the latest version of TWRP (both VS995 and US996) to no avail, along with attempting to flash my TWRP backup I made when I initially rooted my phone and the one I made before flashing with the 996 rom. :\
This currently isn't a huge dilemma as my phone boots normally just fine, but I am really scared that if something happens, I am unable to enter TWRP to fix any issues. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would really appreciate any insight into the matter.

[VK810] InvisibleK's Lineage 14.1 ROM for the VK810 Verizon GPad 8.3

Hello all, I have recently run across InvisibleK's ROM for the VK810, with LineageOS 14.1! This is my first post after years of lurking XDA, and thought to make a thread here since this is not mentioned anywhere. It appears to function normally on my VK810, but took a bit of finagling to get it to install correctly. For the most part, this ROM is pretty buttery smooth for being on such an old tablet, and it breathed new life into my old G Pad 8.3.
My steps to installing:
0. Get on 11A/Android 4.2.2 using a KDZ, or, if you are already, just go to step 1.
1. FROM 11A/Android 4.2.2, Root and install TWRP 2.8.7.0, following the guide in the forum
2. Wipe everything except internal storage/SD Card
3. Install the ROM
4. Install GAPPS
5. Reinstall recovery (TWRP 2.8.7.0)
While installing, the ROM's ZIP threw a few errors but it was still successful. The only things that seem to not work is cellular -- the cameras work, however, I have not tested Bluetooth.
URL to where the ROM is:
download invisiblek org/roms/lineage-14.1/vk810/
EDIT: I got it to install, but a heads up this kills the accelerometer.
Anyone have another download to this? It doesn't appear to still be present on the original linked site
edit: found it, updater invisiblek org/vk810
Hello Invisiblek. I have a Vk810 that I have flashed to your Android 9 lineage_vk810-userdebug 9 PQ3A.190705.003 1388 dev-keys. Ver. 16.0-20190726-UNOFFICIAL-vk810.
But here I am stuck. If I try and flash any newer roms, my tablet freezes during boot not getting past the Vz preload screen. If I try and flash the twrp in your repository for flasing these roms, I get the Security check error and cannot boot recovery or rom. I was able to use twrp 3.3.0 to get this far.
Got any tips to get me past this point?
(I started by doing a fresh .tot flash of 4.2.2. Then used Stump root to root. DD'd twrp 2.8.7 to recovery.
Started in 2.8.7. Updated twrp to 3.3.0. Restarted into twrp. Wiped everything but Internal Strg/Sdcard.
Flashed Rom (current), reflahed twrp 3.3.0 just in case then restarted.
Trying to flash any Romz newer then this results in only being able to boot to twrp. Flashing vk810-recovery-eng_bumped.img results in Secure boot error for twrp and ROM.
Am I running into any 64/32 bit problems? I hate being stuck on a 32 bit rom
More In-Depth install Instructions:
[VK810.4G] [altev] OTAs, .IMGs and KDZs, oh my (and one 22B TOT too) updated 4-6-2016
Thanks to everyone over the past almost six years who helped me get to the point where I am so far. Glad to help others in what ways I can. Thanks to bweN diorD for his Verizon LG G3 VS985 repository. Inspired me to do this for the VK810.4G...
