guys, anyone on Android 9 disappeared AOD? Clearing application cache AOD did not help. I investigated this question and realized that the problem is possible either in power saving mode or in comfort mode. Also, if you enable comfort mode, it is displayed on AOD(everything except the clock changes the color tone) I wanted to know if you had this? still unpleasant when it disappears or changes color.
I can't say for sure but is you have tasker this can be the cause, at least for me, another temp fix that worked is going to aod settings disable it, enable it, enable Bright display and disable it. As for the color shift I can't help you.

Tried looking in this forum but nothing to disable this swipe brightness changer on the notification bar.
I really hope someone can help me with this , my biggest problem is that whenever i put my phone to my ear during a call it triggers this stupid shortcut and keeps increasing my brightness.
Is there anyway I can disable this shortcut or a status bar replacement that might not involve this setting ?
Thanks

This was commonly a good thing for most users, you can set your brigthness settings to auto adjust and you will no longer have this issue.
This way you screen adjusts automatically the brightness level and blocks the "manual brigthness" setting from the notification bar.
Hope it helps, this is the only method I know to change this.
Thanks but I am trying to keep it to minimum brightness all the time to save as much battery as possible. I have an app that changes between 0 and 50% if i need a brightness increase.
So if i use auto brightness is there a way i can set the sensor / auto brightness levels to only be 0 ?
Thanks
This should be an easy fix but I just cant get it so I'm reaching out for help. When I pull down the status bar and look at my quicksettings, the options that are engaged the bottom indicator is blacked out and the options turned off are lit up. It goes away when I try a screenshot so I hope that is clear enough. Now, I know where the problem is, I use Xblast, Wannam, and Gravitybox for different functions. Somewhere I seem to have reversed them. Wannam is the one I use to set the colors to orange. I believe it is turned off in the other apps. Anyone had a similiar problem. Thanks.
I have noticed minor issues cyanogen 12s issues on the ONEPLUS ONE. Anyone with issue can can report them here. Hopefully everyone here has a work around or modification to fix the issue.
BT headset, have 3 different one. Pressing the button will kill the call while on GV. IDEAS?
I'm occasionally seeing the lockscreen flash up when turning the screen off.
Also, if there's a way to disable the lockscreen transparency I'd be interested to hear it - it looks rubbish.
Seeing the old issue of the notification drawer appearing in/after calls, too. Hadn't had this for a while on latest nightlies

color os camera problem
It worked perfectly on kitkat .
After updating to lollipop (official update) cm 12s , it seems to show some problem.
I can't see any live preview of the effects. It just shows the normal camera without any effects. But after I click, the picture comes with effect. So its just a problem about the live preview of the effects. Has anyone else experienced this problem ? Plz help me.
The now infamous two halves in pictures with flash are still there. I wonder if the community could extract the camera driver from oxygenOS kernel sources (when OP will finally release them) and use them, since it doesn't happen on that ROM.

I think the lockscreen flashing after the screen turns off is a lollipop thing. I noticed it when I had a nexus 5 and upgraded to 5.0. I think I noticed it out of the corner of my eye so to speak, after I had set my phone down and the screen timed out, thought it flickered/flashed but that's just the screen off animation now.
Still playing around with all the settings to see what's new (and removed) and noticed:
No longer have the ability to configure the auto-brightness settings which I actually quite liked in 11S if for no other reason that I could set the auto brightness for low light down to 0% (instead of the, what... 5% normal setting?).
Screen Color calibration wouldn't work and crashed the settings app (screen went black and I couldn't get back into settings). A reboot seems to have fixed it.
The settings app may just be buggy as it crashed again when trying to access Developer Options (screen went black and required a reboot).
EDIT: Couldn't sign into my Cyanogen account but that could be a problem on Cyanogen's side as it didn't recognize my account.
Still seems like there are a lot of new things to try and there are more options than Oxygen OS.
Switching profiles:
from owner to guest: Cyanogenmod-log crashes
from guest to owner: code to unlock phone isn't shown and no matter what you type, it always incorrect. Fixed by rebooting

no problem like yours.
but there's no led notification (when lock and screen on) only ambient flashed-up display.
i do agree that autobrightness is not working like in cm11s.
But, i do have those problems after flashing from stock cm11s 05Q and via bootloader with fastboot image from the cyngn.
And cm12s from cm11s is have this kind of lagging typing/touching to be compared if you were flashing from cm12/cm12.1, strange indeed.
I'm back on nightlies. CM12S ain't for me, thought OxygenOS was better
Lags on interactive governor
Hi guys, did you notice any lags on interactive governor in games ? It lags on cm11s too, I thought that they will fix it in today released cm12s. It didn't happen before brick of my phone, since unbrick and flash of cm11s, games are lagging so much on interactive governor. Do you know how to fix that without any change of governor, hotplug or profiles ? Thanks a lot.

I'm trying to make a task that toggles the always on display on and off, based on certain profiles.
I paid for Secure Settings pro because I know for the S7, it gives the necessary options for this.
But with my G6 (7.0, stock, at&t) I'm only seeing a setting that toggles the brighter display for always on display, no actual toggle for always on display.
Is there a plug in or something I'm missing here? Is it under a strange name or something in the list for Secure Settings?
I emailed the developer about this and got no response.
I also tried Autoinput but it does not work well if lock screen is password/fingerprint protected.
Anyone have any ideas?
Are you trying to set the AOD to turn off/on at a specific time of day??
No, that's already in the settings. I want to eventually make a profile that will turn on and off the AOD based on notifications, but for testing purposes I've been using if it's connected to a power source or not.
I would like to toggle the Comfort View at a specific time of day though. But with this I have the same problem, I had to use autoinput which doesn't work well with having a protected lockscreen
On my LG G5 H850, I found the setting to be enable_ext_display_on_lcd_off=1

I don't know if it's just me, but I was previously using the app midnight to dim my phone at night & had no issues.
It appears with Oreo, that the status bar & when you pull down the status bar don't change with the screen.
So while the screen is only set to say 30%, the status bar & nav bar are full brightness. Again, I don't recall this issue
with 7.1.2
Is anyone successfully using an app that actually dims everything with Oreo, & if not, is this an issue with Oreo?
Thanks!
I am having this issue with my device and it's driving me crazy. I did not have the issue with Nougat, but in Oreo none of the apps work on the status bar and notification shade. This is exacerbated by the fact that the notification shade is blinding white now instead of dark gray so it lights up the room when I pull it down at night in the dark.
I normally use the app "Darker Pro," but I tried about five different screen dimming apps last night and they all have the exact same issue so I think it's an Oreo thing. I also used to use the app Snap Swipe Drawer and noticed that I can no longer activate it from swiping on the notification bar. I think Oreo is not allowing anything to draw over the status bar or notification shade area.

Exactly! The notification bar is extremely white which just furthers the issue. The white was a poor choice in my opinion and is hideous.
I've tried 2 other apps & no luck. Plus many don't get updated.
I emailed the developer of Midnight & he said it would be a priority, so that's good.
I'm glad someone else uses these apps. I was beginning to think everyone enjoyed being blinded by their phone at night.

I don't understand the issue... Just dim your display normally using the brightness slider. Everything gets dim that way.
If you want a working night mode too (blue light filter), flash the o pixel mod in the themes section and use that too.
Or even f.lux would work if you have root.
This is a complete non-issue because dimming the display works 100% without any 3rd party apps.

The issue isn't the fact you can't dim the display as we all know you can move the slider.
It's night mode apps only dimming the screen itself & not the notification bar. You may have your brightness in night mode to really dark, but pull down the status bar & it's 100% bright. This issue didn't exist on 7.1.2 with these apps. I was specifically using Midnight with 0 issues.
I'm not rooted, so no flashing. Also there was no need before O as these issues didn't exist.

Well it sounds like the app needs to be updated to work on Oreo properly.
One of the reasons there are dev preview is for developers to test their apps on the new Android update and it would seem that this dev didn't do that.
Can I ask why you don't just use the brightness slider? It's one of the simplest things to do if you want your screen dim.

Because it isn't dark enough at night and early in the morning when I like my eyes to adjust. If it went darker as part of stock Android, it would eliminate the need for these apps.
Personal preference. My wife can't see crap & has to have the brightness on her phone up even at night. Drives me nuts & blinds the crap out of me.

Okay gotcha, makes sense.
Hopefully they update that app soon then.
If I come across any other app similar to that, I'll mention it in this thread then
I've been using f.lux and that seems to be working OK with Oreo.
I used Twilight Pro when I was on DP4 and while it worked, it did have the persistent blinding overlay notification. You can manually mute that for 2 hours tops at a time or there is a way to keep it muted with Tasker. https://www.xda-developers.com/hide-app-running-background-notification-android-oreo/
Does your app provide administration rights capability? There would be an entry in device administrators for your app [name]. For example, I use Bluelight Filter and if I want to use full dimming capability, including overlay, I have to give admin permission. The trade off being that some Android security lock features are disabled - such as locking Android pre-boot with a password.
It's been posted in another topic, but as far as "muting" the messages about background notifications in Oreo, this is a new Android security feature with no workaround yet and you can only set it to a low priority for notifications. At least that way it will minimize to one line when there are other app notifications, and remove the icon from the status bar.

Where are you finding device admin for bluelight? I had it installed, didn't work, but reinstalled trying to find what you stated, but no luck.
I've got a device admin apps settings, but it isn't listed.
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Sorry it's not device admin, it's accessibility. My bad. This is the permission that's required for notifications and screen overlay being dimmed. It's a trade-off. So far I don't use it because I prefer enhanced encryption.
What I loved about my screen dimming app is that it did so automatically at set times and precisely to the right level. The brightness is now at daytime strength the first time I turn it on at bedtime and too dark when i first need it in the morning, not to mention fiddling with the slider to get it just right. Is there another way to schedule the brightness levels?
Still no one with luck with this?
Once it's a cross-device problem, why not move the thread to a general forum?

Did you find a fix for your problem?
Personally I am rooted ONLY for the night mode included on the pixel 2 mod. Furthermore, I was looking for a way to only have the night mode w/o any other pixel feature but couldn't find a way.
I know you said you aren't rooted and I can guess your unwillingness to do so, but honestly that's the best way to get a properly working night mode.
Take into acct. that I've tried a lot of apps and none were satisfactory. As I said before, this is the only reason I'm rooted.
Anyways, I hope you found a way to get a night mode working on your phone.
Any success? Really would like 100% overlay coverage including notifications, everything.
If you web browse at night you can invert the screen colours, which helps a bit until you hit a 'dark' image
I use Darker Pro and yes I can confirm that the status bar and notifications/qs panel does not get darker on oreo.
I used the same app all the time with nougat and it worked flawless.
It is a android oreo issue. Google has disabled apps to draw over system ui elements in oreo, that's what the darker pro playstore description says. I initially thought we need root to enable it. I've been trying to search for root apps that would let me do it but no luck there either.
Alright. I got a bit of a Work around. You will need root. Install Kernel Adiutor and go to Screen option. Now lower the Red, Green and Blue values equally. The screen will get dimmer.
I know this isn't as convenient as using a simple app, but atleast it's something.
Oh, and if you're running a lineage OS based rom you won't need root or the kernel Adiutor. Just go to Live Display in setting and you'll find the same Red, Green and Blue adjustment there.
This one works over both bars, but needs xposed:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-screen-filter-t2893936
