Hi
I patched stock boot.img with magisk v20 and flash it with SP Flash Tool and it works.
Then I ported TWRP recovery and flashed on recovery partition and it works too.
Now we have TWRP and root on this watch.
The only issue is very small font size in TWRP. Maybe someone has solution for that?
I made it to work on Finow with big fonts. Now everything is clear.

Where to get twrp installer.. on official twrp site there is only .IMG file for 3.1.1-0 available
The procedure you have explained is for twrp by Mohan 3.1.1-1 which doesn't seem to work fine for me

twrp 3.1.1-1 (by mohan) working perfect. Use twrp installer from this thread. First ensure that boot image is unmodified . Flash stock boot for your build number and then install twrp as stated above. Unmodified boot image must to install twrp. Then root with magisk to retain ota.

I have a Moto G4 and has an unofficial 64 bit TWRP installed in it. I would like to change it to official TWRP by flashing the .img file. Can I do it by flashing it within the TWRP recovery mode. I don't have root access.
Can anybody help me to root this latest version? Is there any special TWRP to boot and then flash latest Magisk?
Use last cosmicdan twrp and last magisk. Easy.
Cheers
I also cannot root my phone after jan updates. after flashing magisk and reboot, there's a black screen in the middle of bootscreen and it restarts the bootscreen and my phone doesnt get rooted.

When next OTA arrives, you will know why it fails to install There is absolutely no reason to mount system partition to flash Magisk.
Plz can anybody plz tell me how to root or unlock camera 2 api in ma a1 latest pie june2020 update
it's a simple procedure
just unlock bootloader then boot into TWRP then flash recovery flasher zip and then flash Magisk zip and reboot
I've flashed all stock firmwares and get root with this simple procedure but note I've used TWRP 3.3.1-0 from Giovix92 because TWRP 3.2.1 flasher zip didn't work on latest firmware and i used Magisk19.3 its the most stable Magisk version in my opinion i never faced any problem with this version
Hi all
I am wondering if anyone knows how I can get my hands on OOS 9.0.11 Patched Boot Image.
I have honestly looked everywhere and the only one I could find was for OOS 9.0.7
I would like to use the boot image to install Magisk for root without a custom bootloader.
Thanks

You can temporarily boot TWRP and flash magisk. It's that simple..

Above method by @indian84 is using twrp boot image
1. fastboot boot twrp_boot_image
2. Download Magisk then sideload or install
or
Without twrp you need to patch stock boot.img yourself
1.Install MagiskManager
2. Dowload stock boot.img
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1U8LD1C84CVmv8CVQJgdwmZUsQqSE2m3s/view?usp=drivesdk
3. Patch stock boot.img with MagiskManager and you will get patch_boot.img then transfer it to your pc
5. phone - start fastboot mode
6. pc - fastboot flash boot patch_boot.img
7. pc - fastboot reboot
8. done
Thank you. Exactly what I was looking for.
If you use this method to convert TMobile to international software, could you them download the full international firmware and reflash and have OTA working then?
This is not a question actually I want to share a little bit info about TWRP recovery.
I know the latest firmware 1.0.10.0 firmware doesn't support permanent TWRP and I had same scenario with 1.0.8.0 but i had permanent TWRP by flashing 1.0.8.0 firmware then hotboot TWRP recovery then I had a TWRP backup of March 2019 firmware with permanent TWRP installed I just restore boot.img backup from March TWRP backup and had permanent working TWRP recovery.. I also want to know is there any other way of getting TWRP permanent and also I dumped boot.img and make a flashable zip for having a permanent TWRP recovery
