I'm wondering if there's any that reduces loading time when switching between apps and makes it more responsive

Well there is many ways to improve our old phone's Performance. One of them is using kernel adiuter
You can also use FDE. AL or ram manegment fixes from magisk moudles.
Wating for other and say their segguestion
I've seen viperos, Spaceos, resurrection remix or lineageos recommended and I'm wondering which of these do you suggest using
resurrection os is just like lineage but with extra features, so i'd probably use lineageos since I doubt i'd need the extra features offered on resurrection
how is lineage compared to viperos, Spaceos on this phone? Which gives the best performance ?

Hey,
I search for the most optimized costum rom for my redmi 2. I saw a big performance boost when I switched from miui8 to cm13. does exist a more optimized rom as cm13 with even longer battery time and with less lag?
I would like to use a rom which is easy and where you can change a lot. the music player is important for me too.
Is redmi 2 and redmi 2 prime same
Each developer gives their at most effort to make a custom ROM that is best for our smartphone. So at first we have to greatful to every one of them.
If u want good performance and customization option, try DU ,zephyr or aicp.

I agree with you. When I Switched from MIUI to CM13, I experienced better performance and better battery life. CM 13 for Redmi 2 is best ROM regarding performance and customizability. But, I think the Dirty Unicorn ROM for Redmi 2 Outperforms CM13 for Redmi 2. I am using Dirty Unicorn from last month and triumphal with the performance and battery backup. Also, the Dirty Unicorn is based on CM Theme Engine and AOSP, so we get customizability and Pure Android UI.
In my Opinion, The Dirty Unicorn is optimized ROM for Redmi 2.
Two Recommendations ...
In the category of Optimized ..
Xosp - Fully Customized , No bloatware , may flash The Xperia Apps on your own , longer battery Life and a Lag less Environment
Xiaomi.eu ROM - this is the best MIUI ROM you can get for your Device , trust me .. bloatware fully Removed , Google Apps Removed , Smooth like a Butter , Font Change Option Available , Based on latest Firmware , Regular Updates (once a month) .. try this a You'll love it
Isn't there any ROM on which we can get same sound quality as of stock MIUI ROM??

The CyanogenMod is as good as Stock MIUI but provides better customization features than MIUI. I am using the CM13 on my Redmi 2 and never faced any problem. I am happy after replacing the MIUI7 with CM13.
Here are the features of CyanogenMod OS, if you are interested. Top CyanogenMod Features
I also tried the Dirty Unicorn ROM. It was a fantastic ROM. It is highly optimized ROM for Redmi 2. I never faced any battery backup issue while using the Dirty Unicorn ROM. The MIUI is little less optimized for battery usage.
How about Resurrection Remix?
Who is the best between CM13 vs RR vs DU???

Mokee has ads and a lot of bloatware. It has a Chinese base which I despise a lot. Hell, it takes up more space on the system partition than any other custom ROM!
I have flashed quite a lot of ROMs on my device from both Android 6.0.1 and Android 7.1.1. So far, best marshmallow experience was with CM13 20161031 build and best nougat experience was with CM14.1 20161225 build. You see, these ROMs not only provide great battery backup but they also have their share of necessary customization features which I loved a lot. And yes, if you want to try MIUI best choice would be to go for xiaomi.eu ROMs. Also, Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime has the same board wt88047. So any ROM for Redmi 2 is compatible with Redmi 2 Prime and vice versa. Happy flashing!!:good:
Try Validus for good battery backup and use viperv4 or any other sound mod if you want music and try lineage os for stock experience it has heating issues for now, try in next update.
Custom rom: Tesla, Mokee and LineageOS
Miui rom: Miui 6.6.3.0 or another by Xiaomi.eu is amazing! The more beautiful at all. Very good battery backup!
RR N OMS :good: insane battery backup with full features and OMS.

Really? What is sot on this ROM?
I tried DU, RR ,cm 13,cm14.1 and newest lineageOS.....I must say that lineageOS is by far best in terms of battery and performance

Is this the ROM (attached screenshot) you are talking about? I am facing high battery drain with this ROM.
Hi all,
I want to install a custom ROM on my OnePlus 5. I want it to have a lot of customizability, but I also want it to be really smooth, with great battery backup.
I was searching for a ROM, and I found 3 that appeal to me:
xXx NoLimits
OmniROM
Resurrection Remix
Which ROM out of these is the best (I know that's subjective, but I would like to know your opinions). And I heard that Resurrection Remix doesn't have a great battery backup. Is this true?
I'd also like to know if you use any other ROM, which you recommend?
Thanks in advance!
RobertD.
Firstly Every rom has its own drawbacks .
secondly if you like stock experience and with a load of customization then go for ressurection otherwise aosp extended liquified but if you like to have OOS like experience the xxx will work for you.

Resurrection is pure stock with Customisation and the ROM lacks features like Gaming mode and some other OOS features and the most importantly face unlock .No limit is based on OOS but many users claim sometimes they got bootloops after flashing and you will suffer with the quality of photo OOS camera Clicks .
I will suggest No limit in comparison with Camera M mod and Portrait mode enabled G cam mod .
@RobertD. Please use existing threads for discussion https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/help/how-to-auto-loudspeaker-call-t3755436 you won't find answers about your question, only suggestions based on everybodys usage behavior hence its different to yours and your purposes so you need to test it on your own.
Everybody has to find what he's searching for.
@RobertD
There is no right, wrong, best, worst, it's all subjective, instead of getting someone else to do the legwork for you, download a bunch of ROMs and see how it goes.
Personally I use no limits, reason being is it's stability, latest features and thr ability to mod and theme as it should be, performance and stamina is also top notch, I don't think I'm alone in thinking that..
But again, that depends.
Hello, I own a Moto G4 Plus that I have tested various ROMs on and have had experiences with flashing ROMs on Samsung devices, so a friend of mine asked if I could help him out too. So how stable are the Oreo ROMs? Would there be one that could be called the "best" one? Would it be worth for him to switch to a custom ROM or should he stay on the stock one?
Oreo ROMs are very good the best for me are LineageOS and Resurrection Remix OS
Just my personal experience but...I´m yet to see a Custom Rom for J5 2016 that matches Stock Rom. Used all of them from Lineage to Dot OS and although they are pretty stable, performance is a bit hit and miss. Sometimes the phone works like a rocket and sometimes you nedd to reboot it to make it usable again. I have kids and take a lot of photos, so the shutter lag in custom roms is a great con, for me.
This may vary from user to user, which GApps you use, which apps you use, so I would give it a try anyway. From the ones I used, Lineage is by far the best.
Hello All,
I just got a 16GB Galaxy Tab A SM-580 and looking to replace the default bloated ROM with a good custom rom.
Can you please recommend me a good stable custom ROM? Could be TouchWiz based, Nougat, Oreo or Pie. Off course the newer the better but I am looking for a stable one with good overall experience at the moment.
Will greatly appreciate that!
In the same boat here. New T580 and looking for a non-stock rom, stable, with all the important bits working. I am leaning toward Lineageos 16.1 64bit.
If anyone has recommendations I'm all ears.
Can't go wrong with LineageOS or CRDroid. LineageOS has that stock feeling, while CRDroid is HIGHLY customizable (at the cost of somewhat higher battery consumption) Just stay the **** away from Resurrection Remix, and AICP. (Way too slow, buggy, and ugly)

Funny ... I've been running RR Oreo on my T585 since I got it and am having absolutely ZERO issues. It's neither slow nor buggy and definitely not ugly - all Oreo roms look the same except for the rom-specific settings menu, so how would 1 be "uglier" than the others?
RR Oreo is definitely stable and I plan on staying on it until Pie roms have less bugs and more features, like being able to use Substratum themes without that damn reboot
Just bought my mi a2. Have to say its buttery smooth but as history says, i never stick to the stock software for more than a week. As there is no objecticely best kernel and/or rom out there, what i want to know is the most popular configuration being used for this phone. What kernel and rom are yall using and how well does it hold up in terms of battery life and performance?
Also how many of you have tried the new pie resurrection remix? Is it worth trying right now?
Havoc stock

Hex kernel + pixel experience
And resurrection remix has a pure stock look that kind of bothers me. I've also heard of some other problems on the ROM thread.
