What are you guys using for fast charging in the car?
I use this one:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KM3CJST/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
My Honda S2000 doesn't have BT so this works perfectly as it has an 18W PD port, and my Vent Mount KENU wireless charger is plugged into the 12W port. It then also has a 3rd port that is only 5W but it's almost never used while nice to have it.
Past that I always get AUKEY car chargers, as they are PD and have a very high wattage.

what car chargers will work with our phone? I saw someone had used a charger from a razr, but when I went to the store to check them out, the usb cable wouldn't fit, and I wasn't going to try to for the thing on there. Any ideas please?
I use a mini USB cable to the phone with a usb car charger.
You should look again. I use 2 old Razr chargers (1 home & 1 car) and they both fit perfectly. My old Htc diamond and touch pro chargers work too.

Depends on what razr you had. I think they changed the port to a micro usb in one version.
Like railstop said, find a GENERIC USB car charger. If you can find one that is just the car charger plug with USB port(rather then a non-detachable cord) then that is even better b/c you can plug any usb cable into it. USB A -> mini .... USB A -> micro ... USB A -> iPod
It doesn't matter. If you get the generic then you can also plug in any device that will charge off your computer.
If the charger is marked 1 A, it'll charge faster. Some of the mini USB chargers, for phones or BT headsets only charge at 300mAh or 700mAh. They'll charge, eventually, but a lot slower.

Good point. Some devices(not the hero) will complain that the charger is not compatible but 95% of them will still charge. They just throw up that warning b/c they will charge slower.
If you are constantly using GPS then you will want to hunt around for a 1 amp version because even with a 1A charger the hero's battery can't keep up with the drain of GPS and data for the navigation.
I too am using an old Moto car charger(not Razr). Just look for any USB mini car charger, don't get suckered into Sprint approved accessories. If you have an extra miniUSB cable, it may be better to get a generic USB car charger, so you can switch out when you get a new phone.

i went out and bought a generic moto charger that has the different adaptors on it, but it's charging slow as ****, to the point of pretty much not even seeming to charge. I also had a griffin usb charger that was doing the same thing. :grr:
Could a charger above 1000mA damage the phone? I have two gps mini-usb car chargers rated for 1500mA and 2000mA.

No it wont matter. The phone will just draw 1 amp, the ratings are just maximums.

There are no many adapters on the market and I couldn't find original huawei adapter. Can I use a regular adapter (samsung 2A for example) with my Nexus?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using xda premium
Yes, but you must use a certified cable. Check Benson Leung's reviews on Amazon to find a good one or use the cable provided in the box.
However you can buy original charger from Google Store or a valid alternative from Amazon like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Charger-Type-..._1_1?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1461623244&sr=1-1
If I understand correctly some articles USB A chargers doesn't support type-c power profile, so the phone will charge at a constant rate without lowering amperage to be gentle with the battery. Furthermore the quick charge is a very useful feature, so I suggest you to buy a compatible charger.
Absolutely. Just be aware that charging of the Nexus 6P/5X is limited to 1.5A over a proper USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable. With a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable and a Type-C charger, it charges at up to 3A (as it does with the official charger).
So if you're worried about speed of charging, you may want to get yourself a new USB Type-C charger, as a Type-A charger will take about twice as long! (a 3A USB Type-C charger takes about 90 minutes) Personally, I just have a USB Type-A charger by my bed, since it will definitely finish charging while I sleep. Then I keep the original charger in my work bag, in case I need to quickly recharge during the day!

I don't know if that's the case, but if it is, I'm not sure it matters. With the USB Type-C charger it's drawing 3A and then lowers as the battery gets full, but I don't know how low it gets. Whereas a USB Type-A charger will be drawing 1.5A maximum, so it may not even need to lower.
Any good USB type A charger that you can recommend?
I Have a good opinion about Samsung adaptive charger that my wife uses with her note edge.

I am partial to Anker brand chargers. I would suggest the PowerPort 2 (as I own a couple), it is capable of charging two devices at up to 2.4A each (while the Nexus 6P can only draw 1.5A, iPads can draw the full 2.4A because of their proprietary tech). But as you can see on the Anker website, they have a ton of different options!
Hi, anyone good experience with a specific brand of car charger? Ali or ebay link would be nice.
What 'search words' would result in the best charger?
'Fast charging' might help as a word? Or Qi?
Almost a month late but any car charger that spits out 2A (2000mA) or more should be okay.

1000mA also works fine - I have old HTC czarter with such specs and there are no probs with it.

You are absolutely right that a 1000mA also works fine. It's just that a 2000mA charges the YotaPhone a lot quicker. So when buying a new one I would always advice a 2000mA.
I bought this piece of equipment:
BlitzWolf® Qualcomm Certified Quick Charger QC 3.0 33W USB Type C BW-C8 Car Charger with 2.1A Reversible Micro USB Cable Double Sided
Very nice product, looks great and very high grade. Haven't tried it though, will do tomorrow.
What's neat that it comes with a high quality reversible micro-usb cable (on both sides) which makes plugging it in, a bliss.
Let you know what the results are with QC2.0
OK.... so i wanna know is it bad if i charge this phone with samsung adaptive charger ? and what about AUKEY USB-C Car Charger with 5V/3A USB C & Quick Charge 3.0?
My another problem is when i use oem charger my phone getting really hot like the back panel 110 degrees till almost 90% and then start cooling down, but i dont have this problem with samsung charger and my phone still charge pretty quick.
is anyone has the same situation?
The phone uses USB-C power delivery for charge spec. QC3 chargers don't work at all on my PH-1, seriously charges at .5amps. You're fine to use the Samsung charger or any other adaptive charger like Ankar power port chargers, they work fine.
Not sure about your phone getting hot using the stock charger though, mine doesn't do that.

So the phone will charge with an old USB Type-A charger and a Type-A to Type-C cable? What if it's not a QC3 charger like my Anker PowerDrive 2? I've read that some peoples phones charge slower than it uses power when using older chargers, but then some people say they charge ok, slower, but not that slow.

Yeah the power port chargers work just fine. Just not QC3 chargers, in my experience.

Get an inverter if your vehicle doesn't have an a/c outlet, and use the Samsung 45w adapter.
What I did was to use the power bank to charge the phone, meantime using car charger to charge the bank

is that quickcharge?
any 15w quick charger/ pd charger should easily be able to go 'positive' charge with gps and bluetooth on .
so any recomended one that will do the job?
I use this as it does charge at 18w
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KM3CJST/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I need this as my Honda S2000 doesn't have a BT radio so I use this to broadcast. Plus I use one of the USB-A ports to plug in my wireless KENU vent mount charger as well. It's been a great device. If you don't need the radio option then get an AUKEY PD 2.0 car charger, I have 2 or 3 of them because they are so good.

Is there a way to confirm if it's really charging at 20w?
I do not measure, but if you use red usb port, than really quick charging. My previous charger was 10W and if compare than this is much more quicker.
I'm thinking this would probably be the fastest car charger out there. Which us a 120W UL Listed CPD2-B Universal PD USB-C Car Charger

What type of inverter would you suggest? I have an extra 15w oem Pixel charger and I would like to just buy a cheap small inverter. What would be wrong with something like this:
I think you'll like Car Mobile Converter Inverter DC 12V/24V to AC 220V Charger Power+USB FASHION. Add it to your wishlist!

I can't say for sure because they just takes me to a sign in page I can't dismiss, but it's hard to imagine any inverter that couldn't handle the job. Just look at the watts rating on the inverter and make sure it's greater that 15.. at least 25 probably. Also, that inverter says 220v so if it isn't switchable to 120 make sure the adapter runs on 220 as well.

at that point why not just get a PD car charger? They are pretty cheap.
Also I'd never trust buying any electronic from wish lol.

Totally correct in both points! The only point in using an inverter, especially if you didn't already have one, would be to enable using the 25w or 45w adapters, which aren't available as car chargers yet.
