:crying:Battery draining issue started after updating to 058 update
Did ? battery calibration for 3-4 times but no use
Reverted my phone to 316 update 8.1 version but still no result..
Battery draining is too bad.. battery won't last for 7 hours in ideal mode
Total battery empty in 7 hours...
Somebody please help me
I bought this mobile on Oct 14 2018
I used naptime also but no use.. it won't save ideal battery drain.
Now I'm on 327 update
Please help
Get your battery checked at SVC. I'm still able to get SOT of 9 hours atleast after the 058 drain. Mine is a Jan 2019 model and bought in August 2019.

Same here...i have also purchased it on October2018...this problem started from yeste
Please devs help us...
It's not related with Asus or Battery but Google's! recent Play Service component was buggy.
Just clear the data from playstore and restart. You can confirm it with battery usage mine went upto 45% now it's below 10%
This is a sofsame problem due to fingerprint scanner
I am facing same issue after 057/058 update
This is a software fault
Remove your fingerprint and disable fingerprint lock
And restart device
After update device not inter deep sleep mode with fingerprint scanner
Asus cannot help you in this, this problem is out of the position of Asus.
So please disable fingerprint and restart your device
Yah purchase another brand device
What do you mean asus can't help? They can with future update.

Or ye samasya esehi rahegi
No change in my phone's SOT after the update. I'm getting around 9-10 hour SOT. If I play PUBG in HD setting then it goes down to 7 hours.
Hi,
I didn't notice any particular increase in battery drain, even with fingerprint unlock active. At most a 2% increase per day.
However, I experienced a disturbing tendency of the phone to restart by itself after exiting airplane mode.
I have a ZB602KL with 3 GB of RAM and 128 GB of memory.
Best regards,
/_uke
got the same problem
battery drain is very noticible when the phone is idle/sleeping (no internet connection, no background apps)
i disabled digital wellbeing and i dont use fingerprint unlock
battery usage shows nothing about what is using battery on idle/sleep
edit:i also deleted the fm radio app that got installed again (thanks to the update)
but i also deleted the cache of google (play services and ****)
battery drain seems stable now, but i will test some more
edit 2 (19/10): seems like battery is normal now
i dont know what exactly was the problem but im going to guess is that google play services was the one to blame
those are the steps that i did:
-disabled digital wellbeing (on apps)
-i had no fingerprint data, so i didnt had to disable fingerprint scanner
-cleared cache and storage for all google based apps on my phone (Google, Google Play Store, Google Play Services, Google Play Games)
-replaced the default Android System WebView with Chrome Dev (as the WebView implementation)
-before updating, i've already removed most stock apps that came with the phone using this method, but after updating the system, the FM radio got installed again. I removed it again

Solution: 2nd post!
I DID IT !
almost in the same time it drained almost all the battery before, now it has lost only 1% or 2%!!!!
after reading every single post on the internet (many thanks to who has investigated battery drainage), i've mixed the tips and tricks and what i did is:
(Maybe a lot of things are unnecesary)
- Disable syncing in gmail account (everything)
- delete software update's cache
- killed all services except only 2 first party services: SNS and Google services
- Tweaked the apps running on startup with "Autostarts" app.
- 3g off
- Wifi off
- BT off
and, as you can see, it's completely idle. it stayed like two hours without losing battery, constantly at 71%.
I hope this is helpful! I will try to discover slowly which one of these things drains so much battery!
it looks to me that to solve your problem you transformed your phone into a nokia 6310.
It was a good phone, lasting days or weeks but it had no 3G, no wifi, no mail sync ... just like your phone now
What happens if you turn on the 3G and the Wifi ? DOes it drain the battery in couple of hours ?
Just by turning 3g off will help
looking at the graph you posted it looks like where it has poor signal is when you experience steep drainage.
good idea to have all the features turned off when you are not using it. especialy 3g cause it will keep draining to get a better signal.
try using one of those widgets to turn on and off 3g so you don't have to drill into settings every time you need it.
You only have to keep pressed the power button and select the second option to disablr 3g... Data network.
I will update soon!

What is the Android OS and Android System use?
i'm on debusrom, gingerbread 2.3, in spain.
your problem is probably only solved temporally, all method you said has already been proven not working. it's probably a serious driver issue in all exiting gingerbread roms for sgs, have a look at this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1039696
My new broadcom wifi driver works like before update, phone is not sleeping ! It is not a wifi bug, it is not a dirty ROM flashing, it is not random app. Only 2 things left to consider Gingerbread core fault or broken device driver other than modem, wifi...

So, why you post it in here if you are on MiUi ??

that means turning your SGS into a regular Nokia 1100. Why disable all features that make your device a smartphone?
i have used many stock and custom rom results are similar
disabling background data and syncronising gives better battery usage but makes it a simple phone
I'm shocked that turning off all that improved battery.
Hi,
Ever since I upgraded my I9505 to 4.4.2 I've noticed that one of my key battery consumers was Android System (not so on 4.3 or 4.2.2, or whatever I was running before). Right now I'm on the latest DBT ROM, but still the same issue. I've been reading numerous threads on this, tried lots of things even formatting my SD card from within the phone, but still same story. I have Google location services disabled (major issue before), Google Now hot word detection is off, S Voice voice activation is off - nada. I am running stock so getting a wakelock report is a no go. I get decent time on the phone (up to 18 hours per charge), but still want to figure out why Android System is using so much battery (it seems to be CPU time related anyway - phone is properly entering deep sleep when it should). Below is a screenshot of what my battery graph looks like about 2 hours after unplugging the phone from the charger with normal usage. Thanks for ideas!

Any ideas? In the meantime I've done a factory reset, disabled Samsung's bundled apps (e.g. S Voice), tried disabling location services altogether - still same story nothing seems to help. In OS monitor I see a constant Android system activity between 1-9%. Average is around 2-3% but it never stops.... Sadly with the KitKat permissions being what they are I can't get more details.
Here's a graph from today 3 hours after a full charge with minimal phone usage:

Hi ,
With this information is hard to tell what is going on , you need an app like Better Battery Stats
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809
Let it run for 3 to 4 hours at least and then see who is running wild
Review you settings , location , mail , FB......
Thanks. As I am running non-rooted 4.4.2 I can only see kernel wakelocks which look normal to me:

For posterity's sake - the firmware didn't fix the problem. My Android System, and to some extent Android OS, usage was still pretty bad. After hours of trying various things I've got it though - in my case I had to disable Samsung's Unified Daemon (EUR) and now once more my top consumers are Screen and phone idle! Hope this helps folks.
Hello i have posted this over on Reddit but thought that i may get more info on the problem on this site.
Sorry for the long post.
I am trying to find out what is causing my battery to drain 10-15% over night.
i have tried a factory reset 3 times and nothing has fixed it but 3 hours ago i done one again for the 4th time and so far it is still at 100% and i haven't hardly touched the phone so i am not sure if the reset has finally worked ( this time i did uninstall whatsapp too)
My question is, in this 3 hours of hardly touching the phone it is still at 100% but it is still showing being awake quite a few times in the battery graph and i was wondering if that means it hasn't entered doze because it still shows wakelocks? i hope this makes sense

People on reddit think it may be a wifi wakelock issue and have told me to try it on 4g to see if i still get any wakelocks which i will try for the next few hours.
Also after doing a factory reset does the phone need a few days or cycles to get the battery to working properly?
I should also note that for the past 3 or so days i have been trying different tests in the night when i am sleeping to see if it is an app causing the battery problem. I only have 3 3rd party apps on my phone which are reddit relay, whatsapp and tapatalk.
1. The first night when i noticed the drain and all 3 were on the phone it dropped about 10-15%.
2. The second night i only had the apps that came with the phone (they all updated first but no apps were opened like chrome so i dont know if they were set up and i was signed in) and it dropped 2%
3. the third night i removed tapatalk and kept relay and whatsapp and it dropped 10%
4. Today 3 hours ago i have removed whatsapp and the battery stayed at 100% for just over 3 hours until i picked it up and started using reddit and chrome so it seemed to not drain as fast but i still have all those wake locks.
Do you guys think it is the wifi wakelock problem or maybe an app? if it is the wifi problem will a new phone fix it as reboots and restarts with this phone doesn't seem to or if i get a new phone will it happen to that one and its actually a problem with my wifi?
Again sorry for the very long post, i am just looking to see if i can get to the bottom of this before my 15 days are up to get a refund from google.
Sorry to hear about the battery issues. Lots of complaints since the update from 6 to 6.01.
I think you have until January 22nd to return the phone, if you purchased it recently from the Google store.

Not sure if you are rooted or not, but if you are then I highly suggest downloading the Wakelock Detector app. If you are not rooted then I suggest rooting because it is the fastest way to get down to the root cause of the problem (pun intended). It will show you each process/app that wakes the phone from most to least.
Without downloading that you will just be playing a guessing game of uninstalling 1 app at a time, which could take forever. So save yourself the trouble and download Wakelock Detector. I think it is pretty safe to say most of the wake locks are from apps, so please do not return the phone because of that. I do not think a hardware issue could affect software wakelocks, and if it was a stock software bug, most or all people would be experiencing it. Good luck, feel free to report back to let us know what you found with it if you do root and download it.
Hi all,
I am very satisfied with my device except for the battery life. I always had like 3-4 hours SOT. I was not happy but it was OK.
Lately I started charging the device every day after work (I would come home with dead phone after only 8-9 hours of it being unplugged).
So I thought the battery is defective, I must change it... and I did change it yesterday. The thing is that even the new battery behaves almost the same. It approved somewhat and now I will return home with 10% battery instead of dead phone 1 hour ago. But still the battery is terrible...
Can anyone help me, share some advice on how to improve it? I have disabled many software (even facebook), disabled location... did everything I could think of.
I am thinking some app is drawing the juice but cannot put my finger on any of them.
Some screenshots are attached that might help with your tips/advices.
Thanks!

Are you rooted? On nougat? If so get background restrictor APK here on XDA and kill background apps and tasks so they can't run if you do not open them. Lower screen brightness. Install kernel auditor and shut off cores 4 and 8.

uninstall chrome. Then try accubattery (better bcause after android 7, they join all in android system to mask each app consumption. If after this you still can't find out where's the problem, start the phone in "safe mode". Even the consumption is better in this mode you must do a full wipe in recovery mode (vol up+power+home) and after this, reinstall one app each time and see after reinstall the second one and so on until you find out in which app is draining the battery
If you want you can starting by disabling background data in settings but I think isn't the clearer way to find out
This is going to surprise you.
I've had this phone for years and I've tried everything - and the BEST result is when you DON'T DO ANYTHING except disable Facebook and Instagram, and any Google Apps you don't use.
Do not tamper with anything else.
I figure that Samsung tunes this phone so tightly that if you leave it alone it operates as it should.
Anytime I disabled anything else, battery life suddenly and drastically reduced.
The phones runtime software kicks in and if you have disabled something it checks routinely, it will keep the phone awake constantly looking for a ping back from that process.
I just went through the whole process again meticulously, App by App.
Also DO NOT enhanced messaging OR the device antivirus. If you have, you must reset and then train yourself not to engage these too regardless of how hard The phone tries to persuade you!
Then - the battery life becomes like a normal phone which means you'll still need to charge everyday but it will take you through a full heavy day... And this is fantastic!
Honestly try it and you'll see what I mean. The S6 edge plus is so finely tuned, anything you block will start a feedback loop.
I had similiar problems , the way i fixed it, i disabled/uninstalled all samsung applications what i dont use, i disabled/uninstalled all google applications what i dont use. Cold weather (like -20C) will affect the battery life too.
Disable / uninstall apps you dont need. That helped me a lot and got even more battery life while at stock nougat rom with all updates installed.
try wiping cache from recovery and reboot your phone.
I hope this helps you
My battery lately has been draining really fast from doing minor tasks. 2-3 months ago I upgraded to the latest MIUI 11.0.4 and noticed a slight increase in drainage but nothing too concerning. For the past few days though, it has become really bad. An example is how today I charged my phone to 100 percent and within 8 hours it is now already down to 75 as I am writing this post.
What I did:
Charged it.
Left it idle for 4 hours
Browsed some Facebook feed for around 15 minutes
Watched YouTube videos for a total of 15-20 minutes
Left idle again for another 2 hours
Just now spent another 20 browsing some Reddit posts
I usually keep my mobile data as well as the WiFi connection turned off all the time and only turn them on when I need to use the phone. I don't have any IM apps running in the background all the time syncing messages except Kik and Snapchat for whom I've set a battery saving modes to close whenever not in use but again, like I said my internet connection is always switched off. I keep my screen brightness low all the time as well btw.
I usually charge it as soon as it goes down to 30-40%
Pretty sure tomorrow after a whole day of work having it sit idle and then doing some minor internet browsing its gonna drop to 30-40.
Here's a screenshot of my battery stats:

Not sure if this is normal as I remember it draining way slower than it does nowadays. I know that this phone is known for having a good battery life. Any suggestions on what I should do? Is there warranty for the battery in case it turns out to be faulty? I've been using this phone for a little over 6 months now.
I have terrible wakelock on 11.0.4.0.
Non rooted and I want to keep it like this.
Is it a common issue and should I go back to MIUI 10?

Hi, bro!
I had this wakelock in all versions (Android 8 or 9) I tried several times to find out which app does this, installing monitors made for it and so far nothing ... But yesterday I reset my RN7 and the wakelock didn't come back. I imagine it is an app that has not yet performed the initial configuration.
switch aosp(no gapps recommended)
i get 12 hours plus sot

Multiple apps. Of course I tried to fix it by deleting a couple of apps such as restricting the background activity in the most of the rest but I only succeeded to reduce the wakelock from 98% to 50%. The bad thing is, that if You do hard reset it's a temporary solution. Wakelock will return in maximum one month. So what is the solution? Returning to Miui 10 or AOSP rom if You want to run latest Android version?
