When I receive calls on my A20, including those to Google Voice, the phone vibrates along with the ringtone...even though "Vibrate while ringing" is switched off in Sounds and Vibration settings.
Also, vibration is switched off in the Google Voice settings. Why is it still happening??

I have had problems when killing cprog.exe during an incomming call. On some occasions if vibration has already started it becomes hard to stop it. I have found that if I set my own notification to vibrate, then clear it, the phones rinniging vibration will also be stopped.
This would be useful except for the fact that the users notification settings can overide my notification vibration and prevent the clearing effect.
Is there any way to make a phone vibrate without using CeSetUserNotification? Or how can I override the users notification settings? Normally I would not want to override someones settings but the only other way to stop the buzz would be to reset or receive another call.
EDIT...
I found this

And the code works for turning the vibration off and on. I need to do some testing to see if it can reset a calls vibration and if it works on all my devices but it looks promising
Hi, does anyone know how to disable the vibrate alert in the DHD when a call connection is established?
Go to Menu > Settings > Sound > Vibrate you can turn it on or off.
It also affects vibrations when Notifications come up.

Actually i did it, but it doesn't effect vibrate on calls
I actually have this problem too...if someone can give a solution to it...it would be awesome.
Just checking, you do mean the small vibration when you make a call and the other person answers?
Just tried it on mine and that option definitely controls the call connection vibration. Untick and the vibrate stops when the number answers.
Sorry if yours is different somehow.

Ya... I am referring to the small vibration delivered whenever a carrier notification is delivered. Call connect in particular.....
Just got a brand new Note3. Loving it save for the way it handles notifications with vibration mode.
It seems to default to the long "Basic Call" vibrate tone no matter what I configure in the settings. I find this tone to be quite harsh if I'm lying in bed, for example, and get a message. This is true for both SMS and gmail, so far. Further, I tried disabling vibrate notifications in some apps and they persist regardless and always with the same long vibrate tone.
Is this a known issue that others are experiencing? If not, do you have any ideas how I can properly configure vibrate mode to work properly?
Thanks.
Ok this is a really odd problem that I am having with my galaxy S4, running 4.4.2 NO custom roms/root or anything like that.
So whenever I get a phone call (this just started happening a few weeks ago) and I'm on the 'vibrate' profile, the phone will get the incoming call with the person's face on the screen showing me that the call is coming in, like normal. However, the phone does not vibrate at all, in fact, I see the silent logo on the top notification bar (even though the phone was on vibrate) and once I answer the call, the silent symbol is replaced by the vibrate one. This is only occurring with phone calls, not texts or other app notifications. So to recap: phone will not vibrate for incoming calls even though it is set to do so. Anybody have any idea of what is going on?!
Thanks.
In my Android Sounds & Vibration Settings I have "Vibrate when ringing" set on, and a default ringtone. I'm using a Canadian VOIP dialer called Fongo.
With my Axon in Vibrate mode, when I call my Fongo number the Axon will only vibrate once, like a message notification. The call will continue to ring but the Axon is silent/motionless.
In the Fongo app Settings, I can turn on a separate "Vibrate When Ringing" toggle. This fixes the ringing issue, and will continuously vibrate when a call is ringing. However this breaks Silent mode function, so if the Axon is in Silent mode, it will actually vibrate rather than be silent.
Anyone know how I could fix this issue? At work I need it to be 100% silent in Silent mode, and need it to vibrate continuously when receiving a call in Vibrate mode. The vibrate setting is audiably loud in my quiet workplace (film set) so you can understand how this is an issue.
