I'm having network issue on my Moto G5 Plus. Sometimes there is network and sometimes there is no network. Even when there is network, data service is not working. When there is network sometimes I can make or receive calls but sometimes I can't. A service centre representative said that it might be a software issue. If that's so, is there any fix for this problem? or is it a hardware problem?

You're giving absolutely no information.
Firmware version? Android version? Stock or custom ROM? Unlocked BL or not? Rooted and if yes how (which magisk version?)
Without information nobody is able to help you.

In this case the only option would be reflashing your firmware (you didn't post your version, if you took all OTA updates it should be 8.1.0_OPS28.85-17-6-2).
If that doesn't help it is most probably a hardware issue.

The service centre guy did flash firmware however, it didn't solve the issue. He said, then, it's a hardware issue. Tried changing network IC but it didn't work either. The problem was that even after reflashing firmware, LTE network was available but it was not working, like no calls or internet. After changing network IC there was no LTE network at all.

Waiting nougat on xt1622 for ages. I have twrp and rooted. Use this phone daily so don't want to mess it up. Trying to avoid flashing too frequently. Any news ?
still waiting in europe....
So much for start of year rollout. Its like owning a HTC all over again.
Some folks on Lenovo forums have said they have got the update today on the reteu channel as OTA. Moto Germany says that is a soak test, but apparently in Spain some who were not part of the Motorola Feedback Network also have got it..
Hello,
I can confirm that I received the OTA update on my XT1622 yesterday evening after a manual update check. (bought and used in France).
I'm not part of any feedback network either.
At first glance the device seems to be quicker than on MM.
Build N° is NPJ25.93-14
Any news of 7.0 on motog4 amazon prime?
xt1621 on Mexico is getting 7.0 today thru OTA
I can confirm the OTA-update in germany since 28.02. XT 1622.
No problems till now. I haven't resetted the phone.
Just downloading the update now in the UK.
Downloading and installing Nougat for Moto G4 right now here in the UK (8.15am)
Dropped for me too UK. Unable to install yet as it needs wifi.
Interesting.
I am on retgb and have had nothing all day.
If one of the 'chosen ones' could upload the file to sharing site it might be useful.
BTW I know I can't install it with a non-stock recovery, but surely that wouldn't stop the download being offered to me? Or would it?

Firmwares with the ending 92-x are for India and Brazil, ending on 93-x for Europe, US and Asia Pacific.
For Europe/US the latest firmware is 93-10 (April security patch).

A lot of people did. Maybe that's causing problems, I only know that you can't receive OTA's anymore.
The devices should work as expected but what happens if you flash a custom ROM and go back to stock (maybe another build?)I don't know but it's possible that all this voLTE and IMEI losing stuff is related to it.

That's what happens when there's multiple variants of the same phone and no one properly labels the firmware or provides specifications. I've done it, got back to stock with a locked bootloader and recovered IMEI. OTA updates installed with no issues but left with stuck with IMEI 0 again. Anyone in this situation who failed to make an initial backup with EFS or lost that backup is screwed. At this point you're best option is to stick with a stable Oreo ROM. We're getting better support from devs while Lenovo leaves us in the dark.

As the Amazon firmware was unlockable until a few days ago there is no special firmware uploaded.
But I'm not sure that you can't flash the standard firmware or maybe the builds are identical. Unfortunately there is no NPNS25.137-93-8 firmware uploaded atm but there is a NPNS25.137-93-10 build (april security patch):https://drive.google.com/open?id=16Bfp3nVfvKMURAeKagOaOImX-lvJrYBF
As I said, I'm not sure if the firmwares are similar so if you flash it you do it at your own risk.

It's a kind of manufacturer storage:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/cr...on-general/observation-oem-partition-t3189677
All changes the manufacturer does are stored in OEM.
So if you flash a standard firmware the device may change to a standard retail device too.
But this is a bit over my knowledge about firmwares, maybe some of the pro's could have a look into it.

If you flash the complete NPNS25.137-93-10 firmware via fastboot (as there is no 93-8 available and downgrading could hardbrick your device) it should work like this. It's the same hardware after all.
But there is always a risk in crossflashing (if this is crossflashing at all), maybe Amazon has built in some kind of security feature.
But as far as I understand the whole thing the Amazon version is just a normal Moto G5+ with some changes made in the oem partition.
If you flash the 93-10 firmware all traces should be overwritten and you should be in the standard reteu channel and be able to receive OTA for it.
But remember, you do everything at your own risk.
Maybe you can contact someone who owns a Amazon build too, here is a thread about it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/help/resolved-root-moto-g5-plus-amazon-t3652932
Edit: After unlocking your device it is wiped.
Did you recognise the difference of the oem partition before or after the wipe?

I think that depends OTA updates. For example: Some users flashed a 92-x firmware on their european/us (reteu, retus)device. This firmware is made for India and South America (retin, retbra).
Their devices are still working completely but they don't get any OTA anymore. The devices still say reteu but the OTA server is looking for a 93-x firmware which is not present. I think these users can return to their software channel by flashing a 93-x firmware.
As you are going to flash a 93-x on a device running a 93-x firmware you should be good to go.
The only uncertainty is if Amazon has done anything that signs your device as "Amazon prime" even after flashing a whole new firmware.
The result would be no OTA. But I don't think so, even if that may be technically possible.
We all won't be sure until someone with a Amazon device tries it.

Hi Brian...
I got my H918, Used your FWUL and LAFsploit.... (I think you are like a V20 rockstar...? thank gosh there's guys like you and websites like XDA to find you with!)
Got superV20 V2.1 on, I installed with
the option or the MK2000 kernel, although, I'm listed as kernel version 3.18.31. My softwaRe is 10t security patcheck level, March 1st, 2018.
In the last 2 days TMOBILE has been trying to push an Android System Update, of around 119.8 Mb to my phone.
(I don't know that it matters or is even noteworthy, but my provider is Virgin Mobile Canada, In B.C..)
It's asking for restart before installing, and I just keep closing it.

My region Russia. Phone was full reseted to factory. Phone not rooted
I fixed this bug! Problem was in standard flashing for XT 1681-1683. Lenovo produced other flashing for Brazil from 1/11/18. I found this update and flashed my phone with adb. I not understand: why Lenovo not changed rom for my phone from air? Why I must to search solution three months? It very bad practice for Lenovo! Motorola was serviced customers many better!
