How do I get the latest Windows 10 update? - Windows 10, 8, 7, XP etc.

When the Windows 10 May 2019 Update is ready for your device, it will be available to download from the Windows Update page in Settings. Choose a time that works best for you to download the update. You'll then need to restart your device and complete the installation. After that, your device will be running Winwdos 10, version 1903. (To check whether you're already running the May 2019 Update, select View update history on the Windows Update settings page.) Also note the following:
-If you want to install the update now, select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update , and then select Check for updates. If updates are available, install them.
-If version 1903 isn't offered automatically through Check for updates, you can get it manually through the Update Assistant.
-If you run into problems updating your device, including problems with previous major updates, see common fixes at Troubleshoot problems updating Windows 10, or use Fix Windows update issues to step you through the troubleshooting process.
-If you're warned by Windows Update that you don't have enough space on your device to install the update, see Free up space.
-If you experience internet connection issues while updating your device, see Fix network connection issues in Windows.

I want to inform you that it is an auto-formation so when its updates are available then you will know it already. But remember that you are connected to the internet.

Windows 10 1909 available?
version 1903? The latest version is Windows 10 1909 already. I still have one laptop remained with Windows 7. I'm in dilemma, upgrade or not. Microsoft doesn't leave us too much to think about this. I win the free windows 10 home operating system (priced at $139) from WinXDVD lest I upgrade from windows 7 to windows 10 someday.

There are four builds with 1909, latest is 18363.628, which some have problems, maybe hold off until newer. As for 7 to 10, if you have ssd do it, so much faster with it over hdd and usally you can find drivers or use a 7 driver. If you don't have a win 7 ISO maybe mirror copy in case you want to revert. Not sure if I'm allowed to say this but you can run win 10 pro or enterprise, there is no hack like with 7 and the slic table but 10 has a flaw with it's KMS key management service.

For some drivers you will simply have to wait until Windows 8 drivers are released. This should happen until Windows 8 is RTMd. Aside from that you might want to run the installers in compatibility mode for Windows 7 (right click on the installer, go to properties and you'll find your way from there).
Did you do a clean installation or an upgrade from a prior OS install? Seems like your system is severly shot (reinstallation issue, etc.) A clean installation should not have those problems.
With Windows 8 RTM you will have to reinstall eventually as the upgrade path from the Preview Versions does not keep anything except for User Data.
I did fresh install
I installed the drivers
The problem was that win 8 has a new security system about the drivers.i disabled it in advanced startup

problem installing

I installed windows 8 on my Lenovo thinkpad and chose the overwrite option when installing. For some reason in my computer tab, it still says windows 7 and my hard drive is overloaded with both os's. How can I delete the windows 7 OS and reinstall windows 8? Any help will be appreciated.
Wrong forum section, this is for Windows RT, windows 8 is the next option up the list

Thread probably got moved already (thanks, mods).
The only really "correct" way to install a copy of Windows to replace another copy of windows is to format the hard drive in between. First, back up all the files you'll wnat to keep - this process completely removes them. If you have a separate data drive, you can keep it around and/or move files to it. Insert the bootable media (flashdrive, DVD, whatever), reboot in such a way that it boots off the install media, choose an "advanced" install, then delete all the existing partitions (you may need to select "advanced" drive options to see the delete option) on the install disk, select the resulting empty space, and choose to install there. Win8 will set up its own (pretty sane) partition scheme and install itself; on most machines the process takes about 15 minutes. Afterwards, you'll have to go through the usual process of setting up your account, downloading apps, restoring those files you backed up, etc.
It was in windows RT general when I posted.
The notion of a "clean install" may be headed the way of the dodo, as standalone software would have no place under MS' new "devices & services" strategy.
With pervasive connectivity assumed, there's no need for a standalone ISO (which itself is antiquated, as many devices now don't have optical drives). OEM PCs already come with a "bound" version of the OS. White-box/custom-built PCs can install OS from online via a download-manager stub. The installed copy is then activated and bound to the particular device. This would enforce licensing and wipe out piracy in one stroke. With continuous updates, any exploit can be patched by the next update cycle.
OS updates will become a service. MS can use the XBL model and have a free tier for bug/security updates, and a paid tier for feature updates. With the app store being mandatory to buy apps, users' payment data would be on file, facilitating any monetizing effort.
Most of these are already in place. MS only needs to flip the switch and kill the standalone (ISO) software. I'm projecting it may take place as early as Win9 release next year.

[Q] Trouble Installing Windows 8.1 HELP

I have windows 8, I noticed Microsoft had a free windows 8.1 update. I can't see the update, when I download a windows 8.1 tool by microsoft that allows me to download it it tells me that my pc does not meet the requirements. My laptop had windows 7 but I decided to go with Windows 8 Pro and it runs perfectly fine. I really need help installing this so I can get access to the store please help.
I'm no pro by any means, but I had trouble installing 8.1 on my surface. Make sure that you have all of the updates before you attempt. Sometimes you have to shutdown and restart, so the updates can install. That's where I had my problems. even though it should shutdown and restart, sometimes it doesn't.
Or you may have some scheduled updates that you need to update now. I hope that helps. ... it's a pain.

You can see the update of 8.1in the windows store.... But all you have to do is update your windows 8. The essential file of store has to be upgraded to avail 8.1 update visible. Once you update windows 8. Restart your pc and then check your store.. 99% you should see windows 8.1 update.
The reason that your system doesnot meet requirement is because of 64 bit OS. I recommend to go with 32 bit. 8.1 does not need a lot hitech configuration. So you can install it.

What windows r u using now ? I use windows 8 but there's no auto update
to upgrade windows 8 to 8.1 you will need to first download all updates for windows 8 - This could be up to 3gb worth of updates which can be downloaded from the windows update and recovery section in pc settings
once all updates have been installed and the computer restarted to finish installation process you can then update windows 8.1 from the windows store
if it does not show either you havent installed the required updates or theres some other problem
Please note the following windows 8 do NOT support upgrade
Windows 8 Pro, if installed by an organisation or a program that uses Volume Licensing. Talk to your system admin, or the administrator of the program that was used to install Windows 8. If you’re the administrator, you can find more info and links to Windows 8.1 ISOs in the Windows 8.1 Enterprise Evaluation.
Windows 8 Pro, if installed using an MSDN or TechNet ISO, and activated using Multiple Activation Keys. You might be able to download a Windows 8.1 ISO from MSDN or TechNet.
see installation instructions

Update a Windows 8 upgrade disk to Windows 8.1 with update 1

When i bought my laptop it did have Windows 7 on it. But i did have a option to bye Windows 8 cheap with a promotioncode. Sow i buyed Windows 8. But only this year i found out its a upgrade disk... Bummer. Well never likked Windows 8 much after trying testversion and seeing the final product. It made me think of Viste. (Not finnist) Never mind... I did not like the sow called Metro menu at that time. I dont like the way the settings work. Its not like i used to.
But i wanted to do somthing with this useless Windows 8 update disk. Windows 8.1 is a free update to Windows 8 users/byers. Sow i looked into some options to get Windows 8.1 with updates.. But no option i really liked. (Dont like putting in a ligit code after install. Ore running updates) What i did not want is install the Windows 8 upgrade on my Windows 7 laptop. Windows 7 works just fine. I could have made some image *.wim from the finall install.
Sow let me finally tell now what to do with the upgrade disk image. Dont use it. Its that simple! Get a Windows 8.1 with update from here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media The image will take a Windows 8 key. Thats what i wanted!!! Normally you would have to install Windows 8.1 with some default key form MS and put in the bought key after install (When using the key from the Windows 8 upgrade disk). That suck.
Well happy installing Windows 8.1 with update1 using you're Windows 8 key. That's my point haha.
Well thats not all for me. I wanted to install Windows 8.1 for a usb stick and with out to many clicks. Sow i did look into some programs like Nlite (XP) Vlite and sow on. Than i found https://www.ntlite.com/ from the same maker of Nlite and Vlite! The program Ntlite works great. Not like Nlite but still great. The build image can be tested with a program like wm player.
Sow in the and i put my Windows 8.1 on my minipc. (Conected to the tv) Windows 8.1 is just great for playing some music and movies. (I hope i can reinstall sometime with some Windows 8 driverpack by the way)
Original i found the information here: http://www.howtogeek.com/187525/how-to-perform-a-clean-install-of-windows-8.1-with-a-windows-8-key/
