I have tried multiple custom roms, but, whenever I try to step up my sd card as internal storage, I get an error message saying " not enough" storage. I have tried both an old 128g card, as well as a new 128g card. It is the same result, no matter the card or rom I try. Any suggestions or Ideas are greatly appreciated.
I'm offered the choice between 'internal' and 'portable' in LineageOS when I insert a SD that it hasn't previously set up. I've never chosen 'internal' as it isn't as useful to me as being able to pull the SD and quickly read/write to it. Are you not getting that choice?

Under storage settings.
Shows me SD Card total space 116MB Available space 12.52MB. My SD card was a 32 gig class 10.
Internal storage 4.9GB
Available space 4.33GB
Also C7 will boot without memory card in it. My cousin helped me root it and we used the SD card to root it. According to him I should be able to take the SD card out and boot into the normal NOOK settings. This correct?
I am getting errors when I try to install things to SD. Tells me there is not enough room.
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense still very new to this.
Thanks for the help.
First, go to Settings>CyanogenMod settings>Application> and make sure Use internal storage is unchecked.
Then go to Setting>Storage and let us know about SD card, Internal and Additional storage values.

Sounds like you installed CM7 to the internal memory, not to an external SD card. that's probably why you are seeing the space available on internal memory, but not the SD card. There is Verygreens's method to install CM7 and CM9 to the external card, leaving the stock Nook ROM in place, but it doesn't sound like you used it. To get answers to most of your questions, go to Leapinlar's great information page here:

Specifics relating to installing CyanogenMod on an SD card are in the second post.

Yes, I agree. It sounds like his friend set it up to install to SD by burning the image to the card, but somehow flashed the rom to internal memory instead. That would explain the 5GB internal space and 116Mb SD card space.
He needs to reformat the SD card to get the full size of the card available.

Well sounds like the stock nook interface is gone then. No big deal. Do I just reformat the SD card through the settings in android? The option states Erase SD Card. Would that be what I want to do?
Also not sure if this is related. But sometimes C7 wont boot when I have the SD card in. Take the SD card out and it boots just fine.
Well I grew a pair and did the Erase SD Card. Now it is showing 29.66GB.

LOL. Good job. Yes, stock Nook is gone. I can help you get it back if you want it, but most never miss it. The only reason people want it is for warranty or if they want to have kids books work.
Random side question but figured since I have ya here.
Any idea on a good note taking app for android? As in for school notes like during class?

Don't use it much for that, but Googling yields this:

Hello, I'm new here.
I'm using Moto X Style Indian version with Android Marshmallow from last 5 months. I'm using "SANDISK ULTRA microSD UHS-I CARD" with format as internal storage without any problem, but now suddenly a notification show up that "Insert your SD card", I even didn't remove my card since I put it once. I tried to insert my SD card to HTC phone, saying "Damaged SD card" with only option for format it. (I'm not able to take screenshots or click any pic)(SD card is still in my moto x style but in setting it shows "Not Inserted".)

Welcome to the world of adopted storage...
Try to power off the device, remove the card and reinsert it, then power back up. If that fails, either the card has failed or the encryption key has gotten corrupted or "lost". There isn't a lot you can do to save or resurrect it if your device doesn't see the card and unencrypt the data.
When a card is adopted as internal storage, it is encrypted and uses the ext4 filesystem, it will only work in the same device with the same key and cannot be read in any other device without formatting it back to FAT32 and wiping out all the data. There is some information here about reading the data with a Linux computer, if you have the appropriate card reader and can access the encryption key on the device.
Thanks for your reply @acejavelin,
I tried everything turn my phone off, eject card then reinsert it, still same error. Now what to do? Will I format my card with FAT32 by attach my card with PC? I know my data will not save... but I have no option.

Yes... Reformat it in a PC or in another device. Personally, I would not reuse the card, especially as adopted storage, since it can no longer be trusted.

Ok, I will also not use this card again with adopted storage. Thanks for your suggestion @acejavelin .
Seems my problem will be solved , but all my data will loss :crying:
Sounds like the problem is with your phone's SD card reader, not with the card itself. Other computers / phones will tell you the SD card is damaged/corrupted because they cannot read it (the card is encrypted), but that doesn't mean the card is actually damaged or corrupted.
You won't be able to extract your data from it unless you can get it to read the card again. I would try popping out the sim /sd card tray and shoving it back in many times, to see if eventually it will read (mine takes 2-3 tries before it will read)
If you can't get it to work you may need to contact Moto support to get a replacement under warranty (assuming you haven't unlocked the bootloader / voided the warranty)
Definitely try another card though if you have access to one, just to check and see if it will read a different card.
Hello,
Just wondering if anybody has any knowledge on how to install a new SD card when you already have adoptable storage enabled. I'm assuming I could power down the phone and copy everything over, but my new SD card is 200gb vs 128gb installed. I'm worried the partition table wouldn't be set properly.
Any advice would be great!
Thanks,
Jaime
I haven't tried but perhaps unmounting the SD card would help?

The data stored on your card must be moved back to the internal storage in order to avoid breaking your apps. You can do that from the internal storage menu. If you can't fit everything, you'll have to delete things until you're under the limit. At that point, you can go back into the SD card storage menu and format it as "portable", meaning it will work in other devices. If there's any data still on it, you will lose it. Then put in the new card and set it up for "adoptable" as the previous card was.
I'm on Android 7.1.1 resurrection remix, and I often get the message that my storage space is insufficient. I checked the storage info and it says that for example my Spotify is using 2gb, while the Spotify app says it's saving onto the SD card.
I installed link2sd and checked the storage info, and it shows my internal data, SD card and external SD card. I think the problem here is that the SD card is the same as my internal data, and apps are saving to this partition (see screenshot).
Is there any way I can fix this? For example by removing the "wrong" SD card partition? Right now this is causing a lot of issues, since I only have ~14gb to use instead of the ~46gb I'd normally be able to use.
Thanks in advance!
Hi folks,
I've been trying to setup my SD card as internal storage but it doesn't work. Setting it up as external storage is not a problem but as soon as I click on "Format as internal" in the Storage settings and try to move the content to the SD card ("Migrate data") I get an error message saying "Couldn't move content. Try moving content again".
It does seem to copy data to the SD card though because it takes up space after the process but my internal storage stays the same. I tried another SD card but the problem is still there. I'm at a complete loss and would appreciate every help..
what G6 variant H870, H872, US997? ROM stock or custom?
It's the H870 Version and I'm on a custom ROM (Pixel Experience). Also it's Android 9 if that matters
