Ay hello guys, is there any way to install Samsung's stock camera on AOSP? I'm at LOS 16.1, and native camera sucks. I've already installed GCam, but I want the stock app too

Yeah it's possible. It only needs the framework from stock rom, I used to use the stock camera app on custom roms in my Motorola

You are right, everything is possible but i think with Motorola fw is much easy because Motorola fw is near 100% stock android, Samsung experience (the framework) Is closed source and isn'possible to extract and used in aosp rom due the copyright of framework and the complexity of its integration in the android os, maybe i'm wrong but i never see a stock Samsung framework working on aosp rom in many years of Samsung device i used and modded
I remember back in the days of my S3. There was, for some time, a zip file floating around, which had the whole Samsung Camera, and it worked on AOSP.
I remember opening the zip before installing just out of curiosity and there were a whole bunch of files, not just an apk.
Some years later, I searched for it again, to no avail. It vanished from the face of the internet.

I grabbed a Note 3 yesterday with the view of running CM11 on it as I cannot stand Touchwiz.
I flashed it last night and it was running beautifully but I bought the phone as I want to film in 4K and it only goes to 1080p.
Is there a way to get 4K recording on an AOSP rom or can I modify a stock rom to match AOSP but leave the camera app intact?
My Note is rooted so I am led to believe I can replace system apps like the dialer and the messaging app and theme it so it looks like an AOSP rom, but I am not sure if I could do the reverse and install the Samsung Camera apk onto one of the custom Cyanogemod roms?
I have seen some of the themes but cannot seem to get Xtheme Engine, Xposed Installer and Unicon to play nicely together so the rom never changes properly.
Any pointers?

Sorry I was talking about putting a theme on Touchwiz not in CM11 so I can almost have what I want. (AOSP apps with 4K recording as it still has the TW framework)

Use Xblast or Gravity box or Wanam Xposed -- you need to be rooted of course. You can edit to look like AOSP, use another launcher. Or alternatively check out some themes by @HS™

Thanks, that looks like something that will help me greatly. One question though, I have a N9005 and the links are for the N900T, can I use the Rom/theme on a N9005 without issue?

Sorry I thought you were using the U.S. T-mobile variant, Im not sure if it will work, you are gonna have to ask in the forum of the ROM, maybe somebody has tried it on the N9005.
I was brainstorming and had a thought about 4K recording on the Note 3 with an AOSP Rom. The Acer Liquid S2 phone also does 4K recording, could the camera be taken from that Rom and installed in an AOSP Rom as the Acer Rom is close to vanilla Android.
Would that work?
The only app i use from Asus is the PixelMaster camera, but i'm on AOSP 5.0.2 right now, and this ROM doesn't have Asus apps. There's a way to install Asus camera on this ROM? I don't like the stock Android camera app...

Well, the best way to do this, is of course by rooting your phone and installing any TW-based custom rom you like. Debloated, deodexed and including any samsung app you like to install during the aroma installation process.

You should try out resurrectionremix, which is real aosp. As for touchwiz, you can only use a custom launcher, a darker theme and install Google Apps, although that will be all you can change on touchwiz.

yeah i used rr but the camera is not as good this is my problem i know you can make shealth work now on aosp but the camera quality is just not as good thats why i want a dark theme for tw i have managed to remap buttons and get everything else now its just the theme
Regarding camera quality, you can use htc camera on AOSP roms. Ultra fast focus and great quality. The only problem is it crashes here and then..although o hadn't installed it for a while now. So it may be even more stable on newest nightlies. Otherwise it is the best.
Use Dual Boot Patcher app to install ResurrectionRemix in dual boot with your TW-based ROM. If you want to take good photos, reboot into the TW ROM, and for everything else, use RR ROM

Hello,
I have Galaxy S5 with LineageOS 14.
How to reinstall the application camera of origin ?
Thank you.
Flash the stock rom back and stick with it.
Every LOS based rom cannot have the framework libraries and driver files needed in order to run stock camera.

Hello Kevin,
Thank you for the fast answer.
Where to find the application "Camera" to install(settle) him(it) on my smartphone?
Cordially
You do have camera whenever you install a rom. If you flash stock rom, you have samsung's camera which is in my opinion the best, otherwise you will have custom which comes with another rom.

I know that the OnePlus 1 (originally) came with Cyanogenmod but then Cyanogenmod shut down, branching into LineageOS and OnePlus made OxygenOS. However, I don't know which features LineageOS has that OxygenOS doesn't and what LineageOS doesn't have that OxygenOS has. I'm not sure if I should switch from OxygenOS to LineageOS. Could anyone tell me the pros and cons of each and their recommendation?

I prefer the customisation and feel of aosp, it's just my preference, there is no best rom or OS, the problem for me and many more with aosp and Los is the inability to use the camera as expected.
Fusion is probably the best rom as in non OOS but has the camera from it which works nearly perfect
Your best bet is to use stock OOS long enough to get a good feel for it then make a nandroid backup and flash Lineage. That way you can decide for yourself and it just takes a few minutes to go back to OOS if you decide you like it better than Lineage. I've tried a number of custom ROMs but haven't found one I liked better than OOS + Blu Spark yet. A lot of people like Pure Fusion but I couldn't get even a decent phone signal with that ROM. It seems to be incompatible with my phone carrier.
How is the OOS-camera-app with AOSP-roms?
I see there is magisk-modules for custom roms you can flash via TWRP.
Is the the same quality compere to OOS?

Imho, nothing compares to oos stock camera, not even the modified Google camera. It's coming along but I was using it on lineage for a few days and felt the picture quality was definitely lacking.
As for the OP, the best advice has been given, play with OOS, tweak it to your liking and then back it up and go try it with lineage. I went back to OOS From lineage because lineage is still very new for our device and it has flaws that I didn't want to deal with on my daily driver. In time, I'm 99% certain I will jump to lineage because I think it's great; but for now on my op5 it's oos plus blu-spark.
(Plus I'm hoping @eng.stk will make a LOS kernel (don't kill me man lol))

Don't want to go OT, buty blu_spark custom is fully compatible with LOS ( I even merged in r36 the swap key keycode from LOS that was missing ).
LOS is where I usually test my custom stuff.

If you wanted the OOS camera, you could use an APK Extractor and back up the APK and install it after installing a custom ROM.

Feel free to use the search button on my thread.
I am a long time custom ROM flashoholic, and had custom ROMs on every phone I could.
OOS is the first stock OS that satisfies my needs for customization, features and the lack of bloat.
I recommend using stock with Magisk, as you pretty much have all the features from OOS and all the possibilities from a custom ROM.
The only thing lacking for me is the "long volume press skip track" feature, but I have that on my headphones (just not on the phone itself).
Benefit is that you still can receive updates (just reflash Magisk) and camera quality stays.
I cant really give any valid reason for switching to a custom OS besides dropped mainstream support, and I think that shouldnt happen for at least 2-3 more years. (In which time you will probably get a new phone )
In short: LOS is more up to date, and better battery life but slower app openings, and maybe more bugs (i didn't notice any yet)

Doesn't work quite like that, when you extract the camera and try to use it outside oos, it fails; unless someone has a find a way to do it.

No, you can make Apks that depend on device specific framework libraries. They'll only work if the libraries are there.
Now you can copy framework libraries, but in the OOS camera case, you also need modifications to the kernel and to Android to make it work.
In short, your ROM has to support it.
The only ROM I know that kinda support the OOS cam is PureFusion. And even, the smile capture and a few other minor things still do not work.

As mentioned, APKs may depend on specific libraries or frameworks. Some apps don't need specific libraries or frameworks. OOS Camera does. Try extracting the APK and install it on your Fire.
Try the Google Dialer. Try Google Camera.
