What apps do you use? - Android Head-Units

hello
i am a newbie and still learning the best way to use my head unit
currently i would like to have your opinions on:
1 - What multimedia (audio and video) apps do you use?
in my point of view the different apps built in for video and audio are very simple...i wish to have a all in one app that can download lyrics and album art for example.....but cannot find the right one
2 - any app where i can divide the screen in map and music, youtube or other?
3 - any of you are using http injector?
4 - best launcher
5 - my device connects via bluetooth to phone but does not received sms ... is there anyway?
6 - i want to connect via bluetooth to my obd ...how can i make it ?
thanks

FCC launcher. One of the best out there. If you find it in XDA, you can try the Betas. I like it better than the last release in the play store.

Web Video Player 0o ?

Hi,
Is there anyway to fix or improve de Web video player? Because the stock one really suck, once I get in full screen, all the button (Play/Pause/Go Forward or Backward) stops to work so yeah it is pretty much annoying.
Edit: I'm talking about video player in Chrome Browser
If you want some website to test out, http://youtube.com (Please don't tell me use youtube app as there is no app for other websites)

The standard Nexus 7 is not supplied with Flash. Yeah, I know Google decided not to include it because it is yesterday's technology! However it can easily be sideloaded. Just google it. Make sure you install. Version 11.1.115.11. There are problems with some of the other versions floating around.
Have you tried another player like "dice player" or "mx player"?

Thanks,
1. I wasn't talking about flash at all but the Web Video Player itself
If I download these apps, will it replace thw video player on Chrome?

You'll have your choice between the player you install (mx is a good one too) and stock. They won't "replace" stock though, it'll still be an option.

You Tube offline watch it later. Possible ?

The last version of youtube enables the preloading (caching) of all the videos you add in the watch later playlist. But it needs to be online in order to play them, for some crappy reason. Is there a way to bypass that and play all the videos in "watch later" while offline?
Some info on this feature and the crap reason.
YouTube, careful to draw a distinction between this and total downloading of its vids (which breaks its terms of service), is careful to point out that you’ll still need to be online for the first second when you press play.

Please delete.
Guys, he doesn't want a YouTube downloader. He wants to be able to play the video the official YouTube app caches but while offline. OP, I didn't know you could do this, I'll look around for a way.

I can't get on WiFi at the moment but, I'm thinking that YouTube would store the videos on your phone. I'm thinking in the /data partition under one of the YouTube apps folders. I'll check later tonight once I have WiFi.

Just use a YouTube down loader. I know its one extra step but if its worth the extra step then do it.
Use PVSTAR+ as player - it searches and shows youtube vids, and stores them in a cache. You can also copy them out of the cache and they are normal mp4 files. (it also has a mp3 mode, which only downloads the music part it seems). The app also runs in background and with screen off. Completely replaced youtube app with it.
(it also searches on dailymotion and i think you can add other sites)

[Q] Netflix and youtube app

Hi,
So xbmc on the ouya is pretty much the best experience i´ve gotten so far on a small setup! love it.
But when i install the netflix apk, its really hard / impossible to navigate with the D-pad, plus the quality of the stream seems to be aimed at mobile phones. Anyone gotten a better APK where you can browse with the d-pad and get a good quality stream?
And youtube, i managed to install the youtube APK, and the streams are looking great, but i cant login, plus it seems i just find the stock mobile version, ive heard that the google tv is alot better, but does it enable log in as well?
Sorry for the wall of text, but these are the 2 missing features i really want.
I have installed the tv versions of both apps and they are easier to navigate. No problem logging in but I do have the google store mod.
Netflix quality can be poor at times.

This was the same version I had already. It still doesn't work well with controller without touch pad and quality still sucks for a tv unfortunately
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Did you ever figure this out? My wife hates me for putting for taking out our ****ty streamer and replacing it with the Ouya. On Netflix, can't scroll through right or left when picking when you want to watch and can't scroll down to select episodes of TV shows when there is more than 5-6.

The easiest solution I have found it just have a bluetooth mouse. You can just drag the screen up and down, etc as if you were touching the screen. It works pretty well.
Or you can use the touchpad of the controller to scroll. Double tab and then drag up. It's a bit sluggish but it works.
The only problem I have is that the playback stops if the controller turns itself off.
using netflix apk 1.8.1
i got the 1.8.1 working with no playback issues, and with some use of ouya control, does not pause when the control turns off.
My only gripe is the subtitles are very small... can any dev can do a modified netflix 1.8.1 apk with bigger fonts?

First row sports

Has anyone had any luck viewing First row sports dot eu on their S4? I have flash installed and ad free but I still can't figure out how to get video to stream
Of anyone has the magic combination I'd greatly appreciate it.

Is there a Front Row app or are you trying to view from a browser? Please list what you have already tried. I've heard that Dolphin HD and Skyfire will both stream it with flash installed but have not tried it. Also, sometimes different versions of Flash player are needed on certain devices.

I you have any adblocking host file or application it may not work.
Also try the stock browser.
By the way this site looks like major scam site - makes you 'complete offer' (essentially load some crapware/spyware **** on your system).
Good luck.
The site is fine. I use it all the time. Try Firefox.
It was acting really flakey. I switched sites too to vip box online dot eu. Their interface is a little slicker and the streams look cleaner.
Firefox browser, adfree (from the apps section of xda), and Adobe flash from the market I got to watch the Bears win against the bengels sweet!

Good Slideshow Maker app?

I've tried 5 or 6 slideshow makers/video editors in the past week. They all seem to be full of ads, and only a couple have a paid version that's reasonably priced. Most look shady. I just want to create short videos from photos with decent transitions. Music is optional but would be nice. Suggestions? Maybe an XDA test APK?

Thanks. I have Pinnacle Studio on my PC which does a great job. Looking for something on my phone. I don't see an app from them.
