Hello
I have just bought a new car that had an after market android system, however it is in recovery system v4.4.24, and runs Kitkat. I’m unable to use the system as the SD card provides doesn’t have the correct firmware on it to update the system. Does anyone know where i can download the correct firmware? apologies for lack on specific information; this is all I have to work with! thanks

Hi!
Just a few hours after upgrading to 4.4.2 (OTA official) I started to notice some "flaws" in the new OS. Of course there are lot´s of new good things too, but wouldn´t be better if we could eliminate some of the flaws too?
That´s why I´m creating this thread - with the purpose of exchanging experiences regarding the issues and solutions found in order to improve 4.4.2 usability.
I´m starting by sharing my experience with one of the most annoying drawbacks (at least in my opinion): the way external SD card is being used. 4.4.2 simply doesn´t allow data exchange between user installed programs (and data) and external SD card. I´m an user of FX File Manager (in my opinion one of the best file managers I ever seen).
When I opened for the first time in the new OS, the following message appeared: "Your SD Card may now be read only. This device is running Android 4.4 or later and appears to have both an internal storage area and external storage. Google imposed new restrictions in the Android 4.4 KitKat Update: applications that you install yourself ar no longer allowed to write to the "secondary external" storage (the MicroSD card). Applications installed by Google, the device manufacturer, and/or your mobile carrier ar exempt from this restriction. Only applications you choose to install are restricted. Some devices may not enforce this restriction, and other may have a means of disabling it. If you find yourself unable to write to your external SD card, please contact either your mobile carrier or device´s manufacturer support. This problem can be worked around if you have superuser access. Please refer to websites/forums related to your specific device for information."
Awkward!!!
I tried to move some files from my internal download to external SD card and no transfer was possible...
After searching for some workaround, the only way I could manage this situation was by installing ES File Explorer, which found a way to overcome this limitation for file transfer. Of course it solves the issue very partially, since no other programs (including photo / film software) will be able to overcome this problem.
I invite everyone who have/had an issue with 4.4.2 to use this as a way to exchange information, creating a single thread that will make easier to find issues and solutions (if available).
Fixing in general section. It was bug in leaked version but never thought they didn't fix it in OTA version? Flash 3rd kernel would pretty much solve problem I guess. But either way needs root access which means probably avoid warranty due to KNOX

1. Worse battery management than JB
2. More lagging in games and UI
Generally much ado about nothing imho
I am not installed yet the 4.4.2 update in my GT-I9505 because my carrier sure be the last one to adjust the base to post the update. (Venezuela - DIGITEL).
Regarding some of your issues, particulary the access to the SD Card, I recently read in one post on Questions section with two alternatives to activate the access to the card.
Check it and let us now if reallly working before the rest of the members take the adventure to install the 4.4.2 Kit Kat version.
Good look
what's up igruberger
I use X-plore on my S4, I can transfer files but I cant read newly transferred Mp3's from my external sd since kitcat 4.4 why has this stupid restriction being put in place!!!!! royally pissed off!!!!! and are you aware of any work around yet?? its not the phones manufacturer that can fix the problem, its the android software developers as its a software issue not hardware.
Problem whit my LTE
after the update i could not receive 3G or H or H+ or LTE only Edge someone know how to fix this i'm living in Belgium my carrier is Proximus
build I9505XXUGNF1
Baseband-version I9505XXUFNBA
Thx in advantage
Hi everyone,
I've already asked my question on dedicate Android TV/Sony forum but my question concerned also Android TV system in general so I take chance..
I have KD-43X8305C (EU_FR model) and my stock firmware version is 2287.
I tried to update my device on line but I have message with a 2123 error (Server unvalaible).
then I tried downloading the last firmware PKG (3.317) from sony website and forced it via USB (with different stick).
it says "updating", tried copied file on TV but the tv restart just after and restart many time (with bootlogo... Android update) but the version still the same.
Is it possible to find a log file in android TV wich can explain that issue, I'm not specialist with Linux/Android TV but I think that the system could not find any free memory space to save the pkg file or don't have permission to save in the correct file. .
Thanks for your help.
Regards
sorry for my english from google translator

I have tried to root my device by various methods without success, until using kingroot v4.9.6.151 and in one of the multiple reboots I have alone achieved a nice bootlop since it does not advance beyond the bootanimation of Android.
After many searches on Google and being very lucky, in one of my tests I managed to enter Stock Recovery through an external keyboard connected by USB.
but even doing a wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition continuos with the same problem.
so the only way out would be to reinstall the firmware through Recovery but I do not have it and I cannot contact the seller.
Could someone help me or give some information about a firmware compatible with my device?
To provide more information, I leave you some images that I took before trying to root.
greetings and thank you all very much.

I solved the problem I opened the recovery mod and I installed this rom
os_update_KC1C0101-N36-2.4.4.3.12_20190502_092902_b1
excuse my English translator.
thanks for answering I will try to test the same firmware. I'm glad that aya managed to solve your problem.now i am trying to implement bootable image via micro SD card using phonix card software.
I have managed to start an image of android 6.0.1 successfully although currently nothing else works no bluethoot, no music,no radio, no wifi ...
I also do not know if it is possible to access the flash memory from the bootable image through Phoenix card to be able to flash from the terminal the Boot.img of a 7.1.1 rom since I think that the integrity of my flash memory is still intact it is only damaged boot.img partition when trying to root. so maybe hopefully if I could restore it it would reboot.
I found a firmware compilation of allwinner T3 but I can't find one compatible with my device in .img format to be able to boot with softare phoenix card link here: disk.yandex.ru/d/07ru92rb3HEh73
Edit:
I have found and managed to flash the firmware os_update_KC1C0101-N 36-2.4.4.3.12_20190502_092902_b1
but even with problems android starts well and everything seems to work except the Bluethoot and the Wifi
even so so many thanks at least I'm already closer to the stock firmware.

Thank you so much for your help.
I have installed it and everything seems to work except the wifi and the bluetooth.
I have tried reviewing a system.log to find the problem using the liveboot.apk program and it highlights a problem.
in the beginning of android when starting the load of the wifi controller located in /vendor/modules/8723bs.ko it tries to read the file / proc / nec / wireless
and throws "file read error" so I think some memory paths nand
they are not reinstalled with the firmware and my device has corrupted memory parts.
In the Russian forum of 4pda.ru there is a lot of information, although I cannot translate it correctly, I am trying to find some firmware that will restore the partitions completely. See if I can get everything to work correctly.
at 4pda.ru they talk about a hardware way using the phoenix suite program and a complete firmware file in .img format

Thank you.
I have tested that firmware but it gave an error of 77% and I had no way to install it.
Finally I found in another thread information from the friend Ahmed68 and thanks to his valuable information I finally found a firmware compilation from the Russian website 4pda.ru.
As well as the procedure guide to flash the firmware through the Phoenix Suite program.
using this procedure I have flashed the Rom of android 8.1 and after finishing finally !! It has started correctly and I also have Root, Wifi, Bluetooth, Radio, Sound, Gps again ... Everything seems to work perfectly now and with Android 8.1 so perfect.
thank everyone for the help provided.
I leave you the compilation of Firware are and the information where it talks about how to proceed para instalar android 8.1 en mi equipo gacias a ahmed68.

Hello all, i have tryied to update my headunit to android 8 using PhoenixSuit, the upgrade process had gone right, but the headunit locks on the android start screen. And i am struggling with it for some months now.
I am unable to make it be recognized by phoenix suit again, nor make it boot to an USB or Mem card made by phoenixcard.
the only thing i could get was it to start in recovery mode, so it read files like:
51eb6df0-cad7-11e8-bf31-afdca4ac0826
52c7b3fa-cad7-11e8-8188-57adc8d05072.0
52c7b3fa-cad7-11e8-8188-57adc8d05072.1
etc.. the name of the files vary according to the "uboot" file i load on the headunit.
I have tryied lots of files gotten from russian foruns, etc to no sucess, even the original files that i got from the maker fails to start the unit.
If i had to guess the problem that make me unable to restore the original android 7.1 i got from the makers, it would be the partitions number and size, i think phoenixsuit had recreated the partitions in the upgrade process and that recovery mode does not change it... so any android that is not the version 8 (that seens to not work on my unit) does not get even to the start screen.
If someone can give me some tips on how to solve this, i had alread tried anything i could understand from the russian foruns and from here to no sucess
Thanks in advance.
So nobody knows how i can get into a "command prompt" mod where i can remake the system partitions or how i can get the headunit to boot from a phoenixcard created USB?
Hi, i need mcu for my android 1din car player, can someone help, i ask many peoples and they dont have it, if someone can help. My car audio player is cyclon 7101a
Hi all,
I'm still running the stock ROM on a EONON GA2176 head unit, which I find terribly slow and laggy. But unable to improve the performance as the Developer Options are locked.
So Googling searches found a custom ROM by Malaysk. I've checked the device and found it is PX30, RK3326, Android 9 and the MCU seems to be correct, so my question is (I've already downloaded a copy of the Lite version to a SD Card), regarding installation, is it just a simple case of inserting said SD card into the slot on the head unit, navigating to the system updates settings and selecting "wipe data and format flash"?
Apologies for the newbie question, but I don't want to f*ck this up!!
Thanks in advance.
Andy
