Lg Bootloader Unlock
Not sure if this exists on the forum or not, but it is fairly new. I tried to search could not find anything so here we are.
Supported Devices
The following devices will support unlocking the bootloader:
• LG V20: US996.USA for the U.S. open market
• LG V10: H960A for the European market and Android M (Except France)
• LG G5: H850 for the European market
• LG G4: H815 for the European market
Unlocking the Bootloader will only be supported on selected devices.

H870 - how to root in simple?

Dears,
I'm start to Unlock the Bootloader for my device so I can install twrp following this steps:

So I can later flash the Fulmics Rom 3.0.
After going through the painful bootloader unlocking procedure, the process failed at the last step, emailing the unlock bin from LG, with the message "Unfortunately, your device (UAE) does not support unlocking the bootloader.
Mod Edit: No changing IMEI talk, it is illegal

To unlock the bootloader is simple AF.
Connect phone. Boot to fastboot. Send commands. Done.

Plz read carefully the unlock instruction you used. Your device can't be unlocked:
This guide is for officially unlocking the bootloader of the LG G6 H870 European edition, and the USA carrier-free US997 edition. This method will not work on any other models, such as H871/2/3/ or H870K/DS. It also will not work on carrier-tied US editions.

G6 H873 root

Hi guys, is there a way to root the H873 model? It's the Canadian version.
If not, why? I'm curious

There isn't because the bootloader is not unlockable.

Ask it to LG

According to the LG developer page the following models can be unlocked on the LG Developer Website:
The following devices will support unlocking the bootloader:
• LG G7: LMG710EM for the European market
• LG V30: H930 and H930G for the European market
• LG G6: US997.USA for the U.S. open market
• LG G6: H870 for the European market
• LG V20: US996.USA for the U.S. open market
• LG V10: H960A for the European market and Android M (Except France)
• LG G5 SE: H840 for the European market
• LG G5: RS988.USA for the U.S. open market
• LG G5: H850 for the European market
• LG G4: H815 for the European market

You can root it with KingRoot. I've used this method to root my "unrootable" G3 D852 from Virgin Mobile Canada and then flash TWRP. You can do this on the G6 as well, except there is no TWRP version for the H873 so that is where we get stuck.

Nope. Kingroot doesn't work on any LG G6 devices.

I Give Up, Have To Ask-Can TMo H872 Be Bootloader Unlock/Rooted?

Guys I am coming from GNote 3 so I am not very familiar with LG devices. Been searching, but now I have to ask before making a purchase. Can the Tmo H872 be BL unloacked/rooted or not?
I know the US997 is the way to go or 870 (rare in US). But I am also seeing better deals on the H872. So before pulling the trigger I just want to confirm first.
on the LG dev site this is all I see, but is there a way to unlock the H872?

Yes. But I see this guy on UT, Android Explained, here, seems to imply TMo allows their H872 BL unlocking. All you have to do is DL minimal ADB and issue fastboot unlock BL command, no BL unlock code required. Is this true? Again new to LG and trying to be prior-active if you will.

Yes, I am on T-Mobile H872 rooted and bootloader unlocked, with a custom ROM. There's a thread called lafsploit (something along those lines) by runningnak3d, he made a detailed guide on all the steps.

I have a locked lg g6 h870 eu. I know that the distribution of .bin files has been ended but is there any way to unlock or any one working on one?

I am trying to check whether LG are still publicly hosting G6 bootloader unlock files online. I know you probably think but wait, we know they don't. That may not be the case. The server may still be publicly hosting the files which device...
