I remember seeing the VoLTE sign on the status bar the first week I owned this phone when I was running MiUI 10. After I unlocked the bootloader and installed custom roms, I have not been able to see it or activate it. I tried installing VoEnabler via Magisk but it is said to not work and certainly didn't work for me too.
Is there an obvious way to do it on custom roms? is it even possible?

I unlocked my phone then flashed recovery by a rooting method provided on this forum. After getting 64bit recovery and root access I flashed PixelExperience Rom 64 bit on which i didn't checked if i had Volte working.
Now after changing several other roms (64bit Oreo) I m now on NitrogenOS without Volte working.
I haven't downgraded to stock after updating to oreo so why am i facing the same issue as "Volte gone forever".
I have tried voenabler magisk module and other sim changing method but nothing works.
There are people with same carrier(Jio) and same rom as me with volte calls working without issues.
Is there anything I can try? Switching to Nougat Roms would help? Will it also break Volte?
Maybe another person's EFS backup may help who has volte working on oreo?

Try switching any custom ROM apart from stock ROM, stock ROM is what broke VoLTE.
Nitrogen had VoLTE problems in the past builds but the latest build has fixed that so also check if you're on the latest Nitrogen.
Changing to nougat custom ROM will break volte?

I am having the exact same problem. I flashed RR Rom but after that I flashed back the stock rom and bricked my phone after installing an update. Although I recovered my phone and now I am using PixelExperience Rom but the Volte is not working.
I was able to fix, for the most part anyways, voLTE using the method described here:
Solved-volte-fix-lost-flashing-stock-rom <-Should be a link, but the forums are a bit crap.
8m now back in RR 8 1 with voLTE working. I lose it about once a day, but a restart fixes it.
Slightly annoying, but solely the fault of Lenovorola dragging their feet with regards to offocial Oreo on our devices. Their updated ROM should take care of any libgering issues from the move to 64-Bit. Unless they're straight up incompetent and fail to issue a proper fix for us.
Has anyone got Android pay working on any of the custom ROMs available for this device?
I managed it on Mi5 using magisk but haven't been able to try it on the mi note 2 yet
Worked on every ROM i extensively tried. (Ressurection Remix, Cardinal, Cosmic, AOSP Extended, CrDroid)
But i needed Magisk installed or else it gave me a warning that my device was modified and Pay cant work on modded device and app quits.
I'm running Lineageos 14.1 on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 HLTE phone, and it's running ok. However, since it's been dropped from the list of supported devices for Lineage OS 14, there are no more updates coming out.
Are there any custom roms for Oreo or Pie that will work on this phone, that *are* getting updated? I've tried a few for Oreo and Pie that had various issues, including not reading the SIM card, and the ever present Lineageos 15.1/16.1 bluetooth calling bug. I use bluetooth calling quite a bit, so not having that would almost be a deal-breaker. However, what *is* a deal-breaker is not reading/finding the SIM card.
Are there any custom ROMs out there for Oreo or Pie that 1: Will actually find my Verizon SIM card? and 2: Bluetooth calling actually works?
Are most of the custom ROMs for the Note 3 based on Lineagos, or are there others out there that don't have these two issues?
Sorry, no Oreo or Pie ROMs have working BT calling on note 3. Many have tried and no one found the problem.

How do I get twrpk to flash correctly on my device?
@jerryspring: What are you experiencing issues with? Installing TWRP?

I got it flashed correctly. SS and twrp were conflicting. I went ahead and flashed a stock rom and successfully uninstalled SS. SS wasn't able to be uninstalled
Glad to hear you got it working!
HI,
I want to ask wether VoLTE is working for you IF you have Global RN7, With custom ROM (and your carrier and SIM supports VoLTE of course).
I have Global RN7 running on xiaomi.eu based ROM.
Before I flashed ROM from xiaomi.eu based the VoLTE was working fine for me, after I disabled VoLTE carrier check. But now with the xiaomi.eu based ROM, VoLTE no longer works for me. I already asked on the forum for my rom - that is miuios.cz - but it seems they do not know what to do with it.
Besides I tried a few other MIUI base ROMs as well as pure android based like LineageOS for example but VoLTE did not work in ANY custom ROM.
So, has it occured to you too, or your VoLTE is working just fine on custom ROM?
Do you know any way to fix this?
Thanks!
search around for the build.prop edit to allow it or you can try the magisk module voenabler-v1.8.zip https://github.com/edgd1er/voenabler/releases be sure to read the README.
if it still doesnt work refer to this thread:

Hi there, I have an international Mi A1 that has never been modded (stock Aug. 2020 upd.).
I'm interested to switch to a custom rom, but after reading some articles about the strengthening of SafetyNet (hardware fingerprint?) I desisted.
So before I go into this operation I'd like to know if there are any problems with banking apps (that I need) and other apps that uses those APIs. I'm not interested in root permissions, so if I had to give them up in order to be sure to bypass SafetyNet, it would be fine with me.
Uh, another stupid question (sorry!), could I lock the bootloader again once the custom rom is installed (I know that SafetyNet check this, correct me if I am wrong)?
Thank you all for your attention!

You can flash any android 10 rom for mia1 and safteynet shouldn't be a concern, rooting is not necessary in order to use custom roms. I myself only use custom roms for the latest android version and features without the need of rooting.

i'm using Lineage OS 17 official from 7-8 months and its also rooted with Magisk and Safetynet check always passed. i use Upi apps and Netflix app but didn't face any problem
You should never ever lock bootloader after installing custom roms, it will send the device into bootloop.
