Hey all......I created a thread awhile back when I borked my phone trying out a new treble rom that was supposed to be so easy even a nOOb could flash it, and it ended up messing up my phone to the point where the only way for me to get it back was to follow the thread to disassemble the phone and short the chip out.
Then, the screen was not responsive on ANY rom I flash except for MM and it worked with any up to B29. I tried a few times to upgrade all in vain but I was always able to flash MM B29 and have it work again.
Flash forward to last night and my itchy trigger upgrade finger did it again and I attempted to flash the Oreo from ZTE. It flashed fine but, again, no responsive screen. I thought well, maybe I could try Nougat again and I flash many different versions and in different ways (used miFlash, EDL tool, MiFavor recovery, twrp) and all resulted in the screen not being responsive. Sigh, so I flashed MM B29 but now it will not detect any sim or even allow wifi to be turned on.
I have tried multiple times to reflash MM B29 using all the different ways above and even went back and forth between roms. I tried the original way most of us first unlocked the bootloader and flashed through all those stepped zip packages from B20 to B29 and still nothing. I finally used twrp to erase/format all data and made certain the partitions were formatted as ext4 and tried again, still no sim.
I realize that my imei is not showing and even tried a program to flash? that to the phone.
NOW, what needs to be said is during ALL of this flashing the phone signal/sim DID show......yes.......the sim DID WORK......when I flashed anything other than MM B29. LOL. Of course, the issue is none of those roms allow the screen to work.
Please, if anyone can help I would appreciate it very much. I'm thinking by flashing the Oreo from ZTE it may have changed something that the MM B29 rom is not changing to allow the phone to read the imei/sims.
I'm not sure but I think the DFU multitool posted by @raystef66 can fix the IMEI issue.
You have installed the correct modem for you device? EG: if you've flashed a U modem on a G device the sim and WiFi won't work.
If this is correct check APN and network setting in the phones software.
I hope this helps ?

I appreciate the suggestions. Unfortunately, the DFU tool doesn't seem to work for me as it remains listed as Disconnected even after choosing the correct port.
I have always flashed the MM B29 EDL rom (A2017U_B29_MARSHMALLOW_FULL_EDL) that contains the correct modem. As I said, it always worked before.
As far as checking APN/network settings, well, there are none to check because the sim is not detected so all of those choices are greyed out. The signal bars fr both sims are blank in the notification area and of course wifi does not turn on.
I just finished another round of trying different roms to flash including LOS 15. LOS came up to the welcome screen (just like all the others) AND the AT&T logo with LTE full signal bars showing. Again, the screen does not respond to touch so it's all useless. I am at a loss as to why flashing MM B29 is no longer working for me.
Stop using guides mentioned in Axon7 thread,or stop listening to other users.Only thing i see here are bricks.
Probably you have hardware fault
The Axon 7 has been the worst phone for being bricked.
I've flashed ROMs on HTC's, Motorola and Google phones all without problems.
There are way too many packages and bootstacks etc, etc that cause problems and confusion.
So I wouldn't say don't follow threads or users advice.
My advice is research, research and research some more.
Thanks for the suggestions.
Something to get clear.....
I can successfully flash the roms and get to the Welcome screen to begin setup.
MARSHMALLOW:
-screen does respond to touch
-sims are NOT detected
-no AT&T logo
-no phone signal
ANY OTHER VERSION (Nougat, Oreo):
-screen does NOT respond to touch
-sims are recognized
-AT&T logo appears
-phone signal strength meter shows full bars
So, it's not a hardware fault. The phone was working perfectly fine when I had Marshmallow flashed. It's only this last time I flashed the Oreo from ZTE's website and when that did not work I tried a few other roms and then went back to the Marshmallow B29 EDL that I had been using all along.
Isn't there a way to COMPLETELY wipe this phone and start from scratch? As in, when your Windows is so full of crap and running slow you can format the hard drive and reinstall Windows from scratch. I have tried TWRP and format data (have to type yes to format) etc........is there a way to format w=everything that might affect the sim from being detected in Marshmallow? Better yet, the screen from being responsive in other ROMS after marshmallow?

I am not certain. If the Oreo update that I downloaded directly off the ZTE site has one, then yes. If that is the cause, how would I modify it?
@djprez: To my knowledge, ZTE's official B12/B20 do not have a vendor partition. ZTE will almost certainly never add Treble support for the A7, if they are going to do so then now is an ideal time, since the A7 is an end-of-life device and no longer being manufactured.

Hey, al already had this problem.
Try to boot the TWRP using BootLoader with command bootloader boot_a file.img (i belive that the command is this one, if does't you can find on TWRP tread), and boot again the rom that had failed.
If doesn't work, you probably will need to boot files like modem.img, firmware or others that may be corrupted cause of flashing.
There are actually a lot of treads of similar erros that happens on honor phones or oneplus, you can use them as reference tho find witch are the files that cause the non recognition on USB after a failed flash.
If needed reflash stock, it will fix in last case.

Can you tell us more?
How did it start?
Did something happen to it, or did you just notice it is not connecting?
The most easy things first, is your sim card correctly in place?
Which ROM are you on and have you reflashed it?

The phone started with problems since I upgraded to Android Pie, I have taken care of it very well but I do not know if it is a hardware failure, but note that in baseband turns out to be unknown, I installed several stock roms from fastboot without any success, also I thought it would be a problem of the EFS partition, but everything is fine I even took a backup in case the doubts, what could happen?

Did you originally update via OTA, meaning, was it the official update?
Then when you noticed it's not working, you tried to flash several stock ROMs?
One possible problem that comes to mind, is that for some reason, you have the wrong radio/modem firmware. That can happen for example, if you have flashed a ROM, which is not meant for your region.

Yes, upgrade to Android pie via OTA
I already put a stock rom of the same region, following each fastboot command one by one, but everything continues the same, I even installed RROS 7, to see if at least it turned on the wifi, and it is in bootloop.

Go with the modding guide index: how to restore stock ROM etc., and flash a stock ROM that you know will work. Flash the radio/modem file too, and make sure it's the correct one.
Just to say, I had connection problems too, and in the end they were because the sim card did not latch correctly in place i.e. was not correctly in place.

Great that you have an idea. ?
Here's an idea: take a backup of your current config in twrp, move it to the computer, take a copy. Replace the files in that copy with the ones that you want to flash.
Did you mean this? You are aware that you can try different radio/modem files through fastboot, not having to flash everything else every time? That said, go with your idea. ?

I probably can't help at this point, apologies! My suggestion is to flash a stock ROM, lock the bootloader and send the phone for repairs. There could be a solution to this, but I'm out of ideas. ?*

Hello, colud you solve the problem? Because I am havig a very similar one...
Hello group friends, I'm new here. I have a similar problem, I was using the Havoc 2.4 rom, when upgrading to 2.6 I no longer recognize my SIM card and the wi-fi does not connect, I can not install another rom anymore, nor rom stock, recovery TRWP has been replaced by the Havoc and the Wipe System function does not work, and for a few days you can not stay in recovery mode anymore, it restarts every 3 seconds, not the time to click the options. Can someone help me. I'm without a cell phone, and I need it.
I have a similar issue after flashing the latest firmware. SIM goes to "SIM locked" every ten seconds or so, and Wifi drops at the same tie. It's like networking is being reset every 10 seconds. No network settings I've tried change that.
I've flashed several stock ROMs; the one I had previously, newest, oldest, both for RETEU and retail. I used Lenovo restore to upgrade but that resulted in soft brick, after that I flashed the latest firmware via Fastboot and that's when the problem started.
With Oreo, wifi and cellular don't work at all, nothing detected. With Pie they're connected and dropped in a loop. I can't help thinking that the Lenovo restore broke this somehow, but modem files have been reflashed several times after that with no change. I'm not getting the baseband error.

I have the exact same problem, I wasn't able to repair it so I sent it to service and tomorrow they will try to fix it for $35. The problem with goign back to previous versions is that you loose the IMEI and MAC . The problem with the pie version I believe is the baseband. If the service is able to fix it I will post the solution here for you to fix it .

I believe you already tried puting it into bootloader mode. If that's the case, I had a similar problem recently an it solved alone, I let it loop for a while and suddenly fell, into dtock recovey, i factory reset (with stock recovery) and somehow stock was booted ( i believe it was because it was in inactive slot).
Hope this helps you

I am still working on this, I actually did this to a work phone (I had permission to root/unroot). Something that has helped me so far is just getting familiar with the whole flashing process - https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...actory-images-android-using-fastboot-0175277/. I think from this article the problem lies in the modem/radio rom. That *should* be the only thing you need to flash on. However, I have noticed with a lot of roms on here, a modem rom is not included on the stock firmware. But that needs to match well to your phone from what I understand. I have tried a few modem roms already, unfortunately, but no luck.
I originally posted this on the Lineage 16.0 thread, but I figured it might not hurt to post this in a stand-alone thread.
I'm having some issues with the baseband/wifi after successfully flashing Lineage 16.0
I did do a complete nandroid backup in TWRP before flashing the copy-partitions-ab.zip, and I followed the instructions at the beginning of the thread, sideloaded the ROM, and it booted just fine, but I kept getting "No SIM card inserted" . Now when I try to restore the EFS and Persistent partitions from the backup, I still don't get a working baseband...
I even tried restoring the backup I made previously, but I still was not able to make the baseband work. I then tried flashing this stock ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/g6-plus/how-to/rom-official-stock-pie-9-ppw29-116-11-t3892935 through fastboot, and since this hasn't fixed the problem, I tried restoring the EFS and Persistent partitions from the backup, but still no go.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? Not being able to receive/make calls or connect to a wifi network basically renders this phone useless...
Seems the problem was that I didn't flash the correct version of the stock rom. The linked thread has the first version of the Pie stock OS, while previously I updated the phone two times after the Pie update. Flashing the latest version of the stock rom brought back the IMEI numbers and the WiFi MAC address. After seeing that the problem was fixed, I decided to try flashing the Lineage ROM, and that worked as well. Not sure what happened, but I'm glad I was able to fix it with no hassle.

Hello, everyone,
I tried to install LineageOS on my S10 Plus yesterday. That worked so far, but I found that it didn't have a decent camera app and the Samsung Watch wasn't that easy to connect either. So I thought I'd just go back to the Stock ROM again. I then downloaded the latest stock firmware according to this guide and installed it with Odin. The installation also runs through, after the installation the mobile phone starts and after the start screen there is an Android man with the signature "Erasing". After a few seconds, the device turns off and stays black. Even if I put it on the charger or try to restart it, nothing happens. I keep getting into download mode and recovery, but that's about it. Multiple reinstallations and resets via the recovery didn't help - the phone just won't start.
I used the CSC_... and not the HOME_CSC_... at the firmware is the right one for my phone.
Is there any way I can salvage the device? I'm afraid that something in the memory is defective now, which has nothing to do with the flashing itself. Do you have any ideas?
Many thanks!

I was very afraid that the phone died, what did you do for 5 days in this state?
Now I have a question in my mind: When Samsung releases an update in the future, will the bootloader and modem files be updated when we update it with odin? won't it be updated? After that, do we will always update manually as twrp? do you have any idea?
Well, I simply didn't use a mobile phone in these days. It was a very "interesting" experience, but not a huge problem. I sometimes opened WhatsApp as Windows App (interestingly, which works without phone).
I don't know, what happens at a Samsung Update, but until Android 13, I will not update (so probatly never). In our German forum (www.android-hilfe.de), a pre rooted and debloated "Stock"-Firmware is provided, but I can't install it, since my Bootloader is too new (V15 instead V14 for the ROM). When it is possible, I will install this firmware. If you are interested, here is the link: https://www.android-hilfe.de/forum/...3-2022-stock-rom-v2-0-pre-rooted.1000713.html
