Hello guys,
First of all I apologies if this thread should be somewhere else. I haven't use any Forums since 2010's vBulletin.
Anyway, I just bought Amazon Fire HD 10 (7th generation) and I would like to root in, but this Forums is kinda confusing for me. If someone can share the link for how to root it and install Magisk I would really appreciate it. Also, Is there any custom Roms for the Amazon Fire HD 10 that I can use that is 100% compatible?
Thank you

Just try it to unlock and root your Fire HD 10 using exploit package: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/orig-development/unlock-fire-hd-10-2017-suez-t3913639

Hello all!
Thanks to this great forum and other sources, (but mostly this forum) I was able to turn my Kindle Fire into a Google tablet with a lot more functionality than the stock Amazon Kindle. Thus, I've decided to show my appreciation by making a contribution of my own in the hopes that it will be very helpful to others attempting the same thing, since I had to search multiple sources to find solutions to the various problems I ran into. Now hopefully with what I've managed to compile, people won't have to do what I did and the process will be made much quicker and smoother! Since I'm new I can't put urls in my post, so I've made a nice .pdf to download with the links to all necessary downloads.
Enjoy, and a huge thank you to xda-developers!
EDIT: The .pdf route just wasn't work out, I guess, so I put the original Word file.

I think you should research more before putting this up for everyone. There is no unroot after rooted on KFHD. Some things can be accessed via Amazon apps other such as Amazon Prime movies cannot. If someone wants that, they should go with Kinology ROM. Root many Android has there downloads on XDA as well.
I know that you're trying to help but there are tutorials here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2271909 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128848 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2347170 for the 7" and as many 8.9" tutorials.

Just sharing what worked for me, because doing this on the Kindle is quite complicated and difficult, and people often run into issues. So if something doesn't work, we resort to searching the web for other methods. Therefore the more methods that are available the better chances someone has of getting it to work.
And sorry, but I would appreciate it if you didn't accuse me of not doing enough research. There were multiple sources that said unroot does work for the HD. I guess I'll have to try it myself, though.

Your instructions are choppy and missing steps. If I were a n00b, I would be confused. You can un-root a Kindle Fire HD and go stock again by restoring the system. But the statement you made at the end of your tutorial makes no sense. A rooted Kindle Fire HD does not lose any of the Amazon features. You cannot swap back and forth unless you flash an Amazon OS nandroid backup or use Kinology. That's how you regain the features of the Amazon OS after installing a 2nd bootloader and a custom ROM.
You know what I would appreciate? Don't offer something in a tutorial that can't be done and you have not even tried yourself because when people try it, they can do some damage to an expensive tablet.
Kindle Fire Hd 7 rom
Hi, I was wondering which is the most stable version of cynagenmod for the kindle fire HD 7. Cm11 had screen issues, ghost taps. Is cm10.1 or cm10.2
Stable? I just want the most stable ROM for my kindle fire hd . of course I have rooted.

Have you installed TWRP and a second bootloader? This is prerequisite for a custom ROM on a Kindle Fire HD.
Sent from my Nexus 7 Flo running CM 11 4.4.2 with ElementalX Kernel using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I hate to sound like a sub-noob, but where are the Fire HD 8 ROMs? I got TWRP and Magisk installed on my new Fire (using the adb-only method). I see the posting with the stock firmware. But I'd like the plain Android experience. Something I'm missing?

It is not straightforward as there is no existing ROM that can be ported to the HD8 (8th generation). There is a beta version of Lineage 14.1 available though: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/general/lineageos-14-1-fire-hd8-2018-t3936242 but at the moment there is no audio and video working. From a recent post in the above thread it sounds like this will be fixed soon.
Well bummer. I'll keep an eye out for the stuff in development. At least having root will help manage the bloatware. I've already tried an app for system package removal but it wasn't working on the few packages I tried.
Found the stock 6.3.0.1 ROM:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78893195&postcount=441
Which is helpful since I bricked my Fire HD 8. Installing this in TWRP let get the system back.

Is it possible to root the 9th gen Fire HD10? From what I've read so far I can't figure a way to do it. I'm no expert btw, but I just bought a new H D10 and really would like to find a way to root it. Can you help?

Hi - If I debloat my Fire HD 10, 7th Gen, will it support multiple users/profiles?
Does it effectively become stock Android? What version? 8?
Thanks, Rick

This Fire tablet is not supporting multiple users because the Fire OS is useless and have a greater risk to security threats.
You have to use LineageOS:
Android 5.1.1 Lollipop: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/orig-development/rom-lineage-12-1-t3953677
Upgrade to Android 7.1.2 Nougat: https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/orig-development/rom-lineage-14-1-t3973703
If your Fire tablet isn't rooted. You can unlock and root it using exploit (follow the steps carefully): https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/orig-development/unlock-fire-hd-10-2017-suez-t3913639
There is no Android 8.x Oreo for your Fire HD 10 (suez).
So do you know if my Fire would then support multiple users, like this: https://www.howtogeek.com/333484/how-to-set-up-multiple-user-profiles-on-android/ ?
Unfortunately that is one thing that I really need on the tablet.
Thank you, Rick

It will support multiple users with LineageOS, as @AmznUser444 Dev pointed you toward.

I would like to root the Fire HD 10 7th generation, Fire OS 5.6.6.0 (654620620). Can someone please help me with this? I would even be happy running just Linux Mint but prefer to just root and run launcher with updates disabled. Thanks!

Geez that sounds pretty dicey. I'm sure it works great but I want to learn Linux, I don't know it yet. Intentionally bricking my tablet? It would be awesome if there were a step by step walkthrough video of this procedure.
The tread you are referring to says you need to root the device: 'get mtk-su by @diplomatic from here and place (the unpacked binary) into amonet/bin folder'
However that root method will not work on 5.6.6.0 version. I am searching myself as well.
