Hi everyone, briefly explain the problem, I tried to root in the Samsung A40 (64GB of internal memory) everything went very badly and i refleshed an original rom.
Now the phone has restarted but I find 16GB of internal memory instead of 64GB, how can I change the size of the partition?

I installed Dorimanx-ROM-HIGH-END 3.0.2, and somehow apps keep crashing because i can only acces around 65,6MB internal storage?
Is there a fix for this problem?

You partition should be 150/5.. at least not more that 170 system.
Tried app2sd?
Maybe you need to repartition your Magldr?
How big is your System Partition?
I am new to the world of tech and have a (what I believe anyway) is a massive issue with my S7 Edge. I successfully rooted the phone and then for some unknown reason I used TWRP to change the file system on Internal Storage to Fat32 or Fat. Cannot say for sure. Apologies. Now, I have a phone which suggests that I am using 31GB of the 32GB on the phone yet I know that when I use TWRP to look at the size DATA only has 4GB of which there is 141MB free? The other 28GB is there but is inaccessible. I had all my photos and videos on there and they have all disappeared. One thing to note is that when I changed the file system of Internal Storage it factory reset the phone but did show me that it was 25GB space wise so I lost everything but it was trying to restore from a backup which just failed as there was not enough space I think although I did not get an error. I am unable to (proper) factory reset the phone due to multiple mount issues and also because I think it has something to do with not being able to write to the correct partitions. I am using TWRP 3.0.0-0. I go to Wipe/Advanced Wipe/ select Internal Storage, then Repair or Change File System and get the Invalid Partition Selection in red. The same happens when I select Dalvik / ART Cache. I have the latest version of ODIN. I literally have ran out of ideas and have invested in a 128GB SD Card which I will use for mass storage by using adb shell. I am hopeful there is an answer.

Was this issue ever solved?
I've updated to .253 with all the wipes last week and today I discovered I only have 16 Gb of internal memory now.
Has anybody encountered the same issue? What can cause such a problem? And how can I solve it?
I've been getting this issue but some reason, I'm not limited to 16, I'm limited to 22? I'm not sure.
Is the same information as the picture, if you check memory with a file explorer(Es file explorer for example)? On a computer what is the situation with memory?

I noticed it on a computer initially. It showed 16 Gb instead of 32 Gb.
Now it shows something even worse! Total irrelevance.
It is absolutely illogical. In file explorer? What about if restart your phone? Any differents?
No difference, reloading doesn't change anything.
I'm so puzzled.
Also getting this issue @ 16GB internal storage.
FWIW i'm using the XPower 3 debloat with the .253 kernal.
@jufofu, What will show if despite the small remaining space, continue to copy more information in the internal memory? Whether it will continue to collect more data in memory, which means just bad reporting of information on available memory ? Maybe factory reset or repair with Xperia Companion. If problem still there, then the option is service. If you decide to do this, copy your information from phone to computer before this steps.
@Poag, was the problem there on the previous firmware? Do you have any ideas about its origins?
@Monipeev, it doesn't copy files from PC when the small memory is filled.
I will try to flash it again this week. If it doesn't work properly I'll have to restore TA backup and go the the service.
To be honest, i can't remember. I just flashed .224 from Flashtool wiping everything and TWRP reports only 8GB for internal.....booting into system atm....
Would someone with a 32GB internal mind posting a df?
[edit] Ok thats given me back my 32GB internal storage, currently sat on a freshly imaged device with 10GB of 32Gb used internal.

So i
1- Downloaded the UK Customised 224 in Flashtool - XperiFirm
2- Flash this wiping everything in the 'Wipe' box.
3- Booted into Fastboot and flashed the .253+TWRP kernal listed in the XPower thread post #312
4- Booted in system and then set about resetting up the device from TitaniumBackups.

I dont think you have the problem. 22GB is were you are meant to be.
10GB is system 22GB is user space.

nope, NOT a bug in .253,
afaik it's been there on Lollipop as well,
existed on Lollipop firmwares, 185, 224, 253 MM firmwares
(I got it too on Z5).
It sometimes occured during flashing Firmwares via XperiFirm + Flashtool or flashing new ones via TWRP,
really weird "bug"

You can fix it without flashing anything - if you have TWRP recovery, just Repair /data partition in Wipe menu. If that doesn't help, try Repairing /system partition (that helped in my case).

Repairing didn't help, but resizing /data works perfectly. I've got my memory back.

A little "how to" would be nice.
EDIT:
As TWRP kept giving me Errror 4. I did figure out what it meant by that.
It needs manual handling (answering questions) in cli.
I went on with "adb shell" on my computer while the device was started up in TWRP/recovery mode.
There I unmounted everything, and then I ran this command from adb shell:

e2fsck -f /dev/block/mmcblk0p42
There I had to answer a bunch of questions about orphaned inodes and other corruptions. (Tookl a while to answer them all. I could have used "-y").
Once done, the fs was marked as clean, and the rezise command in TWRP worked flawlessly. Problem solved.
Strange that it had so many corruptions/orphaned inodes, considering it was a new fresh flash made just recently with flashtool.

Curiously, I ran into the same problem yesterday after a session of flashing new firmware and restoring backup of my phone. It had never occurred before.

Someone in this thread said the problem went away after a few reboots. I've rebooted about 3 times now, still shows 16GB available instead of 32GB.
I'll probably do some more flashing/restoring later on to see if that fixes anything.

/internal shown in second picture is it's own virtual partition
/system shown in last picture is also it's own partition and has its own free space
The free space shown in android storage will only display the free space on the virtual data/internal storage so it looks perfectly fine to me.
Also external sdcard won't add to virtual internal data storage.

Oh ok. Thanks for the reply. My total internal storage is meant to be 16gb. This is why I thought the two screenshots formed (most of) this 16gb.
So based on your information, where has the rest of my internal memory gone? The first DiskUsage screenshot says I have 8.24gb in total storage. Is the rest not usable because it's a private system partition?
Also I've attached another screenshot. Is it normal for the internal system to use up 7.76gb?
About 8GB for a Sony Android system ROM sounds about right, lots of bloatware and included apps. On a 16GB Sony phone, half is available for photos, music and apps/apps data.
That's why you should never buy a phone with only 16GB in 2016/2017. My Oneplus 3t with 128GB is a hair saver. ?

Uninstalling uninstallable bloatware will reclaim a few MB of space, but removing preloaded system bloatware won't help much in freeing up usable space. The system partition is a fixed size, generally inaccessible, and any unused space in there isn't counted towards total available free space.
BTW, I thought you were asking about the 16GB total space in the first snapshot in your original post. The Z5C has 32GB internal storage space, not 16GB. Just thought you should know.

I've found a supposed solution after a bit of Googling, but I'm not sure if it's the right answer. I plan to test it out later on.
But yes, you're supposed to have 32GB total internal storage, inclusive of all partitions hidden or otherwise. After deducting the OS and stuff, there should be 21~22GB of usable free space left.

Yes, I can confirm a complete fresh flash of stock firmware restores the total space to 32GB. I didn't touch the system partition, so I'm not sure whether a repair of system in TWRP would do anything, and there's no means for me to test it now.
Hopefully, a restore of my nandroid backup will preserve the correct total storage space.
EDIT: Yup, restore successful and total space is 32GB. FWIW, the "solution" I mentioned earlier was a discussion for a Nexus device, and it said it's necessary to restore stock recovery first. Not sure the exact cause of problem or actual solution to fiz the problem, but anyway reflash worked for me.

Twrp system repair did not fix it.
Time to flash....
If you have twrp in boot, this problem happens.
The device ends up making the system read only, and then gives you the left over /data
Then when a function calls ro.hardware, its inaccessible.
You won't be able to fix it if you don't have TWRP in the recovery partition. When you do a restore, you'll get put in to a boot loop, if anything other than the data partition is selected

It was fixed. A factory reset solved the problem.
But its strange,I flashed stock rom and then formatted through stock recovery but problem wasn't solved.
