I will try and explain as best as I can, please forgive me as I am a nexbie to thid flashing firmware, I flashed my galaxy s fron froyo 2.2 to the gingerbread stock 2.3 XXJVR from this site and everything went fine but wanted to use the MilkyS rom so downloaded everything and followed the instructions exactly but Odin just can't connect, Keis connects fine and odin finds the phone when it is switched on but when I put it in download mode there is something really wrong as I don't get the download screen that I originally had with the yellow triangle and the android man but now when I go into download mode I get a screen with blue writing at the tp saying reboot system now
apply update from SD card wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
then I have yellow writing at the bottom of screen
copying media files
sucsessfully copied "manual mode"
applying Multi CSC....
Installing Multi-CSC.....
Applied the CSC - code "CPW"
Sucsessfully applied multi-CSC.
and if I leave it like that for too long the battery seems to smell like its melting or something, I have tried everything on another laptop running windows XP as well as windows 7 but no joy can anyone please help me with this issue, please explain in plain english and not to techy as I am a newbie and not much good at this stuff, thank you so much for any help, I am in the Uk..

Since the others wont offer any help. (and yes, i understand this is the development section and not the Q&A).
Try a Factory Reset, restart your phone.
Hold Volume DOWN+"Home" button+Power UNTIL you get to the screen with the yellow triangle specifying it's in download mode.

Im sure he would have gotten help once it was moved to the Q&A section.....
Should someone really be asking this if they are flashing ROMs? Cant tell the difference between recovery and download? Everyone starts out as a noob, but come on
And i said i understand that, but leave the moderating job to the moderators. If someone is in need, you should help them first instead of telling them they need to be somewhere else and THEN ->inform<- them where they should be posting. There's nothing wrong with being informative and empathetic.

Thank you xWarMachine04 for your help and to everyone else I am very sorry for posting this in the wrong section, I will take my slap n the wrist and will put it in the right section, also just a " I am afraid that you have put this in the wrong section so would you mind moving it please" would have been nice, it was a genuine mistake and just for the record I am a she not a he..........................
No problem, wish you all the best

if everyone was thinking the same , this section would have been named "Galaxy S I9000 Android Development/Q&A"
why would you post here when you know its wrong.
faster response?
Like i said, let the mods do their jobs. IF a thread needs to be moved because of a person posting it in the wrong area, let them move it. This is a simple mistake a LOT of people make every day. Nonetheless, tanzi got her help needed, problem solved.
This conversation is over.
Is lagfix disabled?

Thanks for all the help and advice but I have now managed to get Odin connected and have now flashed DarkysRom 9.5 Extreme, so thanks again..............
I made a general reset(all data reset to basic) and the phone is blocked at the "alig screen. I tried to install a new rom but I am a beginer :crying: and I don't know how. Please give me a step by step information and the place where to find the programs. Thank you. Sorry for my english
Sometimes that happens. Just reboot the phone and it's fine.
I want to sell this phone for parts on ebay, but i'd rather not do that until I can wipe it.
Whats the easiest way to do this when the screen doesnt work?
Easiest way will be to odin back to stock.
If your phone is in developer mode, you could try "adb reboot download" from your computer
If not, then you'll have to manually boot into download mode. May take a few tries, but the steps (and files) can be found in post 5 here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2616221
FYI, in the future, this type of post should go in the "Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" forum, not "General"

Figured as much base on your post count. It was more for the benefit of new members reading along at home.
Good luck.
