Combo files don't work on the newer T720s. But, there is a good chance that your tablet is still in warranty in which case you can contact Samsung and they'll send you a free shipping label to send them the tablet so they can remove the lock.

There is a serial number printed on the back of the tablet. (Very hard to read!) Call 1-800-samsung and give them the number and they will tell you. You'll need proof of sale and they'll send you a shipping label.

No, you can't at this time. Everytime someone finds a way, Samsung fixes it. I don't doubt someone will find a way around their latest fix, but for the moment, only they can remove the lock. Of course, the whole purpose is to prevent theft, so if neither you nor your friend can prove it is a legit purchase, you are out of luck.

SM-G530T1 Stock Firmware/Kernel

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can find the stock firmware for the SM-G530T1? I've looked and have not been able to find it.
Edit: It would be possible to get the firmware using the IMEI number in SmartSwitch. Unfortunately I and another are unable to access our IMEI number from the settings in the phone since our phones are bricked. We'll need someone else with the phone to take care of that. It would be tremendously appreciated!

I looked up how to get your imei # without going into your phone & it says that all you have to do to get it is to go to google settings & go into your android devices and itll pop up all the android devices that are connected to your gmail & there should be a list & the imei #s should be there too.

I'll see if that works. Thank you for the info.
Edit: Okay, I've got some good news and some bad news.
The good news is that I found my IMEI number using the method described by Eker. Also, the IMEI number is on the sticker behind the battery but it doesn't say it's the IMEI number, so now we know that. It's the number above the long bar code with the slashes in it.
The bad news is that SmartSwitch says the device is unsupported and when picking "Emergency Software Recovery and Initialization" from the "MORE" menu at the top, nothing appears in the first tab and in the second tab, entering the phone model (SM-G530T1) brings up a new box asking for a serial number. I entered the IMEI number (with and without the slashes) but it says the serial number entered is not corrected. Same thing using Samsung Kies 2 & 3.
I don't know what to do

Damn, that sucks. I mean, that's not totally bad. It would just be better to get the firmware and do it ourselves. That way we can post the firmware here and other people who can't or don't want to go in to a service center can do it themselves. Hmmm...

Just chatted with someone from Samsung and they said the firmware will not be available online. I'm not sure if they ever officially provide firmware to begin with though, so that may or may not be news. I guess the only way to get it is if someone else unofficially provides it...

Ah, okay. I didn't know that XD I never really thought about it. Knowing that now, I wonder how we're going to get it. I mean, if Kies or Smart Switch won't recognize the SM-G530T1... how will someone be able to get the firmware? Unless they update either one or both of them to be able to recognize our device. Hi,
Edit your post and remove your IMEI and S/N. Just in case to protect your device from illegal tampering or any illegal things.
Where country did you live in? Could you check your phone box for CSC code? It looks like this: GT-I9500ZWAXSE or anything similar.
Sent from my ASUS_Z00AD
Your original CSC according to IMEI is XST
Model number is GT-I9505ZKAXST

Enter the IMEI and it should return the original CSC, which will be the last three letters of the model number, e.g. O2U in I9505ZKAO2U.

Install this APP and it will give you all the info you need about your device.
@Joku1981: He was trying to discover the original CSC/country code the phone was sold under, which is why he needed to parse the IMEI. Phone Info wouldn't help in this instance because it reports the CSC/country code of the currently installed ROM.

In this case, he lost his IMEI because he has flashed other modem and needs the original CSC code. So, Phone Info will useless.

Follow the link of Strephon Alkhalikoi.
Download mode shows your original Country code, no matter what CSC you flash
Turn off your phone, then press Volume Down + Bixby Button + Power button once for 4 seconds.
A blue screen will appear saying that do not flash non original firmware, press Volume Up.
A screen will come up saying at the top "ODIN MODE".
In this screen, you have some information about your device, but the one that we are intrested is a red line "CARRIER_ID: XXX"
That ID is your CSC code, no matter what firmware you install it on. Mine is PAN - the original - even though i currently have DBT installed.
and just press Volume Down + Power key for 7 seconds to restart to normal mode.

What model is it? Take a look at the back of the battery, its written in a sticker.
Google this : samfirm xda
Download the program. Download your stock firmware with the program.
Download odin. You can find it in sammobile.com or google it.
Flash it.
Hey btw, I'm not responsible for any damage. Okay? I'm just trying to help.

S8 no service 1 month after rooting

Hi guys, this is a difficult one.
I have a buddy who really shouldnt be playing around with his phone. He has a samsung galaxy S8 on EE. He decided to root it because he wanted to recover some deleted files from it. Obviously its voided the warranty.
The trouble is a few weeks after he rooted it its now showing no service. Just to make matters difficult hes now played around trying to fix it. It is no longer rooted and it has the samsung official firmware on it. Theres no files on the internal storage to give clues to what he actually did and to make matters worse he has no idea what he actually did to root it. He seems very unclear on what he did or why he needed to root it.. Not a good start.
I have put a sim in it and it does ask what network the sim is on but says no service.
The trouble here is I am not sure where is best to start and I want to review my options before fiddling too much.
So far
I have flashed the stock firmware from Sam knows.
Also factory reset before and after.
Checked Knox status. Showing warranty void.
Currently not rooted and was not when I first got it
IMEI number is still present.
Tried multiple sim cards. 2 on EE and one on giffgaff
Phone storage is blank as if phone is new.
Phones owner mentioned twrp but bootloader is currently stock
Have you checked to see if the phone still has an imei number. He may have messed that up. If he has. Unless he's backed up his efs partition, ( think that's what it's called ) then he may have an expensive small tablet Instead of a phone...
Yes it still has an IMEI
download stock firmware from Sammobile and flash stock, then see, could also be problem with sim card...
I have tried flashing a sock ROM this morning. Also tried more than one sun card. Same result.
Maybe the phone has been locked by carrier ? some carriers do that if a customer is not paying subscribtion. Where did he get his s8 ?
Have you heard of that happening in the UK. As far as I was aware these days in the UK the phone is considered your property.
If it has been blocked like that could I get it unblocked?
Are you sure, the IMEI displayed is correct? Because it sounds like an IMEI brick, my old Galaxy S3 had the same issue.
It's IMEI became a generic one, that didn't match the original one on the box.
Ok I'll check with the owner. See if he still has the box. Is there anywhere else I could find the IMEI if he has thrown the box
You can try checking the bill of his S8. I bought my S8 on contract in a local retail store and got a bill, that included the IMEI.
EDIT: I just checked, the IMEI can also be found imprinted on the rear glass on the bottom.

You can check the status of an imei number online, there's a few websites that do it, it will tell you if it's been blacklisted or not.
I'm from the UK and I didn't pay my bill for 3 months once and they never blocked my phone, just deactivated my aim service until I eventually paid. So there's something dodgy going on tbh, how did this person purchase this phone?

I actually have no idea what else to suggest, if you've factory reset it, flashed firmware via odin and checked imei and all is okay then I'm unsure what else you can try. Usually issues with service is down to efs which leaves you win a corrupt imei but this is all okay for you. Can you ding out what software build was flashed? The build number.

Sadly not. Browser history has been cleared and files have been deleted. He said it had been running fine for about a month so not sure from memory which one he used. He knows he used TWRP to root it but thats about it. Does not sound like he really understands the process, just used google and skipped through without reading.

Hmm I mean no offense to your friend there, but the root process is so simple not sure how he managed messed it up tbh, but it is what it is. If you're able to contact him get him to go to settings-about phone-software information. In this section it will show what firmware build he has, there has to be more to this.

Currently

Anything else on there that might be useful
The one I have on it now is the one I flashed via ODIN

That's the latest firmware available, the only last thing I could suggest is to use Samsung smart switch software and do a firmware recovery. If after that it doesn't work then I am all out if ideas.

Is there any way to check for the authencity of Onepius 6T?

I just got a new phone brought from abroad..... Is there any chance it's a clone? Is there any method to check for the authenticity or verification method ensure that my phone is a genuine product? Please help... Thanks in advance.......
Go to your dialer and type *#06# to get your imei number then go to swappa.com/esn to check the imei. That will show you imei status and also the model of the phone. If it is a real 6T it should show up as such.
