Hi guys, again here.. I read quite a lot about unlocking bootloader and I already know that it is re-lockable but once unlocked the DRM is gone. My question is just about the DRM...
- This DRM is specific for Sony Ericsson apps, like Track-ID, or will I have problem with other apps I bought from Market?
- Will I still be able to buy apps from Market?
- Does someone know which applications, despite Track-ID, I will lose?

OBS: Just one more question I see a lot of threads with Arc (LT15) firmwares with the title "arc/arc S". Can I flash a LT15 fw on a LT18? Like cyanogen, they just have a fw for LT15.. Can I? Thanks
The sony apps are really not important, anyway there are no features lost if you unlock your phone with setool, even OTA updates will work after unlocked.
And yes roms from arc or arc s are compatible

I am from India. I recently ordered a Galaxy Note 4 from ebay india. The variant that the seller will ship is N910K that is Korean variant. He sent me the pics of the phone and said that it is factory unlocked. But I noticed that it was olleh carrier logo on its back. I have yet not received the product. Maybe tomorrow I might receive it. Now here are few questions that I would like the dear members to answer.
1. Since the phone has olleh carrier logo on the back so does it mean that phone is sim unlocked and not factory unlocked?
2. Is there any way I can find out whether the phone is factory unlocked or sim unlocked?
3. And guys any other pointers that you all would like to tell that I should check once I receive the phone.
To check if the phone is rooted we can check Knox code. Isn't it?
So members please answer my these questions. I would really appreciate your help.

well you bought it already, i will check if its real or fake, 80% of Notes for sale on ebay are fake, once u got the device download CPU-Z and check for the cpus inside, should be snapdragon 805 or Exynos 5433, also try to post pics of the phone here, the firmware any kind of pics, hope the best for you, good luck mate, cheers:fingers-crossed:

Yeah, I agree with you on that; ebay's most of the products are replicas. Even if it turns out to be fake, I doubt he'll be able to return it and seller won't give a ****.

Just insert another carrier's sim card to see if it's unlocked. And no, sim unlocking won't trip Knox , rooting and flashing different recoveries will trip Knox.

I've been a HTC phone person for a while and thinking of switching to a S5 my only problem is I hear the bootloader is locked on VZW Phones?
Now see I'm buying a NEW unlocked G900V Samsung S5 off ebay and gonna trim my sim from my current phone to fit in it, but before I do this I want to unlock the bootloader and then root.
I dont have the phone yet, but its sold as brand new, and I dont have the model, cid, android version, any sort of info until I have the device in my hands.
I watched a few videos saying its easy to unlock the bootloader and root and most people are using touch philz bootloader, and I've read a lot on there saying there is not bootloader access on this device and only a safestrap recovery option
someone said to use geohots towelroot but then someone said he works for google now and its not supported anymore after june 2014 or some ****?
also I seen this video showing me a pretty quick method to unlock the bootloader/root

You'll need to find out the CID of the device
Ask the seller to check for you.
If it starts with 11 then you cannot unlock the bootloader. If it starts with 15 then you can unlock it.
Ok I'll try and ask but how do you even find out the CID of the device in case they ask, because I am pretty tech savvy and I don't even know. Samsung phones and CID numbers are all new to me.
I think I read someone where that the CID number changes if u use root on a post somewhere am I wrong ?
anyways if its not a 15 the phones pretty much worthless?
Bump: I asked the sellers to look for me and they always tell me they can not download any apps to the phone...Where do we find this in the settings without downloading anything how can I tell if it's a genuine Samsung chip quickly and easy or not
AFAIK I think the only way is to use an app like EMMC Brickbug or to pull it via adb. There isn't a way to tell otherwise.

i would like to know if lenovo warranty is working when i unlock the bootloader etc ... then i flash stock and relock the phone ?
Because my zuk z1 have a dead pixel, the famous fingerprint + home button not working anymore problem and i'd like to send it in warranty for repairing or change it.
Maybe someone already sent the phone to warranty and it worked ?
If i can have feedback it could be really cool

I dont know the technical side of it but you can contact customer care through chat...
**When i contacted they said warranty wont void..
But this is only for lenovo zuk z1 not for any other phone... And warranty policy may differ from country to country... In India it wont void

There is no universal root method. All Xperia models have their own particular root process.
I see why you asked here as there is nothing at all on the XA1 xda forum yet.
