Samsung Galaxy J730F Touch not working android 9 - Samsung Galaxy J7 (2017) Questions & Answers

Hello, i have a problem with my phone , i don t know if the screen was replaced or not because i bought it used. I had android 7 and now i have android 9 , i didnt use the phone for a long time and now i did turn it on saw updates from 7 to 8.1 and then the touch stopped working so i saw there is an update from 8.1 to 9 and did that to (with a mouse and otg) but still nothing.
Main problems:
-touch screen still not working
-bootloader binary 5(so i can t downgrade to android 7)
Any ideas how to downgrade or any fix for the touch on android 9?
Thanks

Usually Samsung bootloaders are backwards compatible, so you may still be able to downgrade.
You could also just try using the touch screen binaries from Android 7.

Just flash ap only. Be aware you will also need to factory reset, so make sure you are oem unlocked.

All I can suggest is Install twrp and flash the kernel with that.
However you will need to pull out the boot.img from the AP tar file.

What kernel should i flash and ap? 8.1 o 7?

Basically you need to remove the boot.img from the AP tar archive then install the rest of the AP file without the boot.img using ODIN.
Then install twrp and flash the boot.img.
Format data and reboot.

There's a chance It may soft brick it. However soft bricks are fully recoverable by simply flashing the stock firmware or just restoring a backup.

thanks again for your answer i ended up tryng twrp and a custom rom the problem, i always end in bootloop.
I see very custom rom i try have the option to root but i always say no, is this the problem?

Depends on the custom rom. If its based on stock dm-verity will need to be disabled. Rooting will accomplish this.
If its based on lineage or other aosp sources then it shouldn't be necessary.
However a format of data will be required either way.

Maybe, but it depends on the twrp version you are using.
Try a build based on nougat.
This was one of my early builds before it became official.

Oh man that's great to hear! Thanks. Bought myself a laptop specifically to get my PRO 5 all TWRP'd up.
One last thing. I have updated firmwares many times in the last couple of months with full factory wipes each time, currently on the latest test version. Will the bootloader unlock in the tutorial still work? Meizu can't have patched anything. Right?

I assume youare still on 5.6.1.19: Thats an error with this version.... put the updatefile manually (in the PC) on the external sd and flash via TWRP... you should later update your modified Pro 5 to 5.1.3.0, the error ist gone then...

Struggling with J500FN

Hey all.
I'm in need of a bit of help. I have a J5 and was getting sick of being told theres never any space to install apps, so I rooted it hoping to be able to remove the stock apps that come inbuilt like word, excel etc.... Anyway, I then decided to take it a step further and try and install a custom rom, long story short, im stuck with a green screen
I've been googling and following tutorials for hours now and I'm really at the point of giving up, so thought I would reach out incase i'm just over tired from it all and making silly mistakes.
I have TWRP 3.1.1-0 on my phone, I installed Lineage 14.1 figured out how to change the updater-script, green screen. I then installed a stock rom advanced I found here, green screen. I tried Aokp nightly nougat, green screen. After googling green screen I found a post saying its something to do with incompatibility from TWRP and that I need to install lollipop 5.1.1 firmware first before I can change to lilneage 14.1... Ive been googling for ages and I'm either coming to sites that want me to pay to download it at a reasonable speed or wait for hours. I'm a bit dubious as no other rom seems to have worked and I'm not sitting here with an empty phone.
Thanks.

Flashing LP / MM / N ROMs based on AOSP/LOS over stock MM/ROMs based on stock MM --> green screen.
How to flash MM/N ROMs based on AOSP/LOS:
1) Install 5.1.1 stock firmware.
2) Install TWRP 5.1.1 (Nick's or Vince's).
3) Flash the MM/N ROM you want.

Did you flash the official SuperSU module from the lineage site?
No, I used Odin with the cf autoroot for my device.
I had problems with cf auto root, particularly the green screen on boot, try flashing the supersu from their site.
Tried it, used first one on the site, installed okay but can't see the su app anywhere, then tried the x86 version in case but wouldn't install.
Oh never mind, had to enable dev mode and enable root for apps and adb first, there is no actual app. I ran another app and it asked for root permission.

Commonly TWRP will not install if you're using a version incompatible with the device, check to make sure. You should always have the original stock frimware on hand in case anything goes wrong. If you do encounter difficulties such as bootloops you can basically start over by flashing in the stock firmware in download mode via Odin3. Sometimes after flashing it may take a while for the device to fully boot up, I've had some take hours.

You can use Magisk Manager app to patch boot.img and flash using Odin to root the tablet

OnePlus6t recovery problem

Hi, I have installed the Rom Awaken Os android 12, and I want to install an another rom on android 12, but I need to install the last oos11 to do that (I think).
The problem is I can't install TWRP, I always got the Crash Dump error (I think there is no current version that work with android 12).
So I'm block with this Rom, I think I could resolve my problem by down grading to Oos11 with my pc but I don't know how to do that.
Can anyone help me pls?
This should work for downgrading:

Are you sure? The rom currently used it's not important in this operation?

You could install twrp from magisk. You'd have to flash a modded boot.img from fastboot. You'd have to get the boot.img from the awaken ROM and mod it with magisk manager. Or try to fastboot this twrp I know it works on a11.

He's on an android 12 custom rom. I honestly didnt know that certain twrp versions are incompatible with certain android versions. Ive been using twrp 3.5.x on my samsung. I can flash roms from as low as android 5 till android 11 with the same twrp version.

I have android 12 also and there's a bunch of twrp that works with it the only problem is the data is encrypted. I'm just not sure if fastboot boot works that twrp it's one of the only ones that works with a11.

Use attached twrp. Boot it from fastboot. Once booted, go to advanced and select "install current twrp". Just make sure to remove secure lock screen before installing. It can't decrypt.
