I recently got an AT&T prepaid sim card and I flashed my Canadian W model to G950U (AT&T) branded firmware. I am trying to activate the wifi calling and I get an error APP0008. I called AT&T and they keep telling me that the phone is not an original AT&T and wifi calling is not supported on non AT&T phones.
Has anyone seen this error and how did you resolved it.
Wifi Calling is exclusive for PostPaid accounts. I have Prepaid and they do not activate it for me.
Finally I was able to enable wifi calling on my S8 and Note 9. Both phones have been flashed with the ATT firmware. I have a prepaid account with ATT and I use Canadian models S8 and Note 9.
Of course I cross flashed them with the U firmware and my account has been provisioned for call waiting
Let me describe the problem here.
When I try to enable wifi calling I get an error message APP0008. When I try to read the network settings for call forward and call waiting Samsung says Something went wrong. There is a sim error or network error.
So for some reason Samsung phones can not read the settings from the network. Some people report that if they restrict the phone in 3G mode only are able to read the settings but for my did not make any difference.
My solution was to put my card on an iphone and try to see the call forward settings and enable/disable the call waiting. I got an error as well.
After that I put my sim card to my Samsung phones and suddenly the phones were able to read the network settings for call waiting, call fording.
At the end I went and enable the wifi calling and the phone brought up the ATT page for wifi calling and everything was ok.
The question here is what the Iphone is doing to the sim card/or network and then samsung is able to read the settings and enable the wifi calling?
For people that have problems enabling wifi calling on a ATT firmware (U models) and on Samsung phones and get the APP0008 error try the above

I have a Verizon G900V S5 that I am currently using with a T-Mobile sim card on the T-Mobile network, I can get voice calls text/data etc, but I cant find a way to activate the video calling because its linked to Verizon its currently on android 5.0 and I cant manually update it from the phone either because it says im not on the network, is there any tweaks or roms to fix these? Also whats the best network mode I should be on to get the fastest data right now im just leaving it on "Global" and using T-Mobiles APN and it seems alright
I just now switched from AT&T to T-mobile because I finally got sick of AT&T for various reasons including very high prices. The network lock is removed. How can I get wi-fi calling to work on this phone? When I try to enable it, I get "To enable this service you must confirm your emergency address.". Then I see "Wi-Fi calling lets you make and receive calls over Wi-Fi with your AT&T account. When you use Wi-Fi Calling, information about the country where the Wi-Fi connection is made will be sent to your carrier. Learn more about Wi-Fi Calling.". The last two words are a link to https://m.att.com/shopmobile/wireless/features/wifi-calling.html?referrer=. It seems there's a hangup of AT&T versus T-mobile. What should I be doing to get this working?
In case anyone is wondering, this particular phone is being used because it must be kept unrooted. I have a G900T that has been rooted.
I have an unlocked Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935U). My carrier is Total Wireless (Verizon MVNO). I recently got a new office at work, and the Verizon coverage in this part of the building is terrible. I use wifi for data but cellular calling basically doesn't work at all.
I've been looking at other networks, and I'm leaning toward T-Mobile or MetroPCS, one of the reasons being they have wifi calling and the wifi at my office is plenty fast. I checked in settings to see the wifi calling option, but when I go to settings > connections > more connection settings, which is where the wifi calling setting is supposed to be, there's nothing about wifi calling.
I had a thought that maybe the wifi calling option isn't there because my current carrier doesn't support wifi calling, so I contacted Samsung support. I asked if I get a SIM from a carrier that supports wifi calling, would the wifi calling option be enabled. They said that unlocked phones don't support wifi calling at all.
This confuses me, because this thread mentions some people were able to use T-Mobile wifi calling on an unlocked S7/S7Edge. But that thread is older, so maybe for some reason wifi calling was removed from the unlocked S7 Edge with the Nougat update?
I suppose the only way to find out for sure is to get a T-Mobile or MetroPCS SIM and see what happens. But is anyone able to shed some light on if this is even worth trying? I suppose it's also worth trying out just to see if regular cellular calling on T-Mobile might be fine at my new desk, but hopefully there's some way to do wifi calling.
Unfortunately I think you need the sm-g935f to get t mobile wifi calling. Don't think it was ever achieved on the U models
I had an s7 edge from T-Mobile (SM-G935T) but I flashed the unlocked firmware essentially making it a SM-G935U and I had VoLTE and Wifi calling working with no issues. It was about a month ago, so it was on Nougat. I would expect no issues with an actual SM-G935U on T-Mobile.
Well, I answered my own question. I switched over to the T-Mobile 10 GB $50/month prepaid plan and when I changed SIMs the phone gave me a "reconfiguring your device for new SIM card" message. Wifi calling is now active.
Also, this is a list of phones that support T-Mobile wifi calling. I probably should've checked here first.

I've got a very weird issue with my Galaxy S8 (SM-G950FD)
After working fine for about 1.5 years on the network it suddenly wasn't able to make and receive calls anymore on the Lebara (Vodafone) network in Australia.
The issue spontaneously disappeared a few hours after it first surfaced but reappeared and has not gone away since.
Internet and Txt/MMS are working normally. But when someone calls me it goes straight to voicemail and when I call nothing happens for a minute or so and then it "disconnects" but no tone
When I go into the phone app and try to retrieve settings like caller ID and/or forwarding it gives the following error:
Failed to read data
Something went wrong. Check your
Sim Card or network connection,
then try again
When I insert the sim into an S7 it's working. When I insert the sim from the S7 into the S8 (Optus network) the S8 works as well.
I've performed a factory reset (without restoring the settings)
I've gotten a new sim and Lebara has ported the number to it but that didn't help
Being a dual sim I've tried using the shared sd/sim slot but same issue.. data/mms/txt working no voice.
I've tried copying the apn settings the S7 displays with the Lebara sim to the S8 but that didn't help either.
I've now used Odin to flash the phone back to the Oreo version with the December 2018 security update and that didn't help either.
Any other ideas?
Thanks
I've managed to narrow down the issue a bit.
Also went out to purchase a Vodafone Pre-paid sim. That one didn't work either at first but after some troubleshooting with support of Vodafone we've found out that the S8 doesn't connect to the 3G network of Vodafone Australia.
When I have the SIM of another provider in there and limited the network mode to 2G/3G autoconnect the phone just finds the 2 other networks on 3G (AFAIK 2G has been phased out).
I've tried to get into the advanced service mode but this doesn't seem to be possible anymore.
Is there a way to try to see which bands are active on the S8 and better yet enable them all?
I have a S10+ that was bought from US Cellular that I am now using on Straight Talk with a TMobile sim. I had Wifi calling working just fine before I switched to the new Beta update. After switching back to Android 9 it now says "This is currently unavailable under the call settings for Wifi calling. I am at a loss. I live in an area were the cellular signal is spotty at best and need Wifi calling to work.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

AT&T doesn't like unlocked phones so it's possible the option isn't showing up because of that. Many AT&T customers with unlocked phones have reported that they needed to contact AT&T customer service to get WiFi Calling or Volte working.
