Hi to all.
I'm trying to flash Magisk 19.2 (last version) on my M3 BTV-DL09, but when i flash the magisk zip from TWRP, after the reboot, it say me "type the password to decrypt the storage", but i don't have set any password. I tried the google account password, or the old pin that i have set for the biometric security, but it say me in both of cases "the password is correct, BUT the storage is damaged, please do a factory reset". I have try to factory reset from the TWRP, but nothing is changed.
What i need to do?
Solved flashing canary version of magisk. There is a bug on stable magisk v19.2 with some Huawei device.

Hello guys, i updated my phone via Oxygen Updater like i always do, i have magisk installed so Oxygen Updater booting into TWRP and flashes the rom.
The thing is when it reboots into the system when screens goes to the lock screen to insert my password the phone shutting down and boots into TWRP. Via TWRP i flashed manually the rom and its boots normally after that but magisk is not installed of course, so when i boot into TWRP flash Magisk and reboot to system the phone shuts down again.
The OTA is 9.0.5 and the twrp-3.3.0-x_blu_spark
Is there a solution for that? I cant live without magisk

Which magisk version? Decrypted or encrypted storage? Did you flashed magisk uninstaller? Which magisk modules or other mods you're running? Did you tried another twrp or without the compatibility.zip of the rom file?

When i boot into TWRP i always have to insert my fingerprint password to Decrypt my data if thats what you mean, i dont really get Encrypted or Decrypted.
Ok i found the problem, i had to use Magisk Uninstaller before flashing the new rom, after i uninstalled magisk i installed the rom and immediately magisk and it booted normally.

Your encrypted if you have to decrypt your data in twrp.
And your issue is remaining magisk/modules, that's why you should uninstall magisk before updating like described here https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...xygenos-4-5-2-7-1-1-ota-t3627003/post72799040 :good:

Can i format data to decrypt and flash the Disable DM-Verity and then restore my TWRP backup? Or its necessary to start the device from scratch for this to work?

If you mean your encrypted twrp of your internal storage = no.
I would start from scratch with decrypted.

I used this and solved the problem
I was facing to the same problem today, and the problem was the Magisk version! Same problem for Pixel 3/XL users...
The way you can fix it: Install v19.1 BETA (not the stable)! It should boot up!
Device Encryption
good afternoon guys I need help with my redmi note 7, I already did the unlock but I can not install twrp, when I do the installation and boot, go to the encryption password screen, so that does not recognize my password and can not undo The encryption, my note 7 was with version 10.3.6 EEA, I installed the Global version 10.3.10 and still did not remove the encryption, already updated to the latest version and does not work.
I can't undo device encryption and install twrp .. I did all the procedures I found and it didn't work.
It seems like even if it says not enough space, data has been transferred to SD though
i think you have to format data partition
u need to factory reset from twrp NOTE , there is a difference between formating the data partition and factory reseting to remove encryption
Hi Guys! Please point me in the right direction!
I am having oneplus 5 and I didn't create any backup (I know.. so stupid), so unfortunately I can't afford to wipe internal storage.
Long story short: I installed Stock ROM and stuck in a boot loop. Reinstalled TWRP but now it is not asking for password to decrypt.
Long story Long:
1. I Tried to install the latest custom ROM (Android 9) from Android 7 but because of having old OS/firmware, vendor partition was not created, and the new OS didn't get installed.
2. So I Wiped and installed 3.2.3 TWRP codeworkx (anything later twrp didn't work). (This version of TWRP asked my password at the beginning).
3. Tried to install OOS 5.1.4 (since it was the one that first enabled treble and the update created vendor partition). This official stock ROM wiped my twrp.
4. I guess TWRP didn't decrypt before getting erased and I got stuck in a boot loop.
5. Now I removed the OOS and installed TWRP, but the TWRP is no longer asking for a password and the system is encrypted.
6. Now any OS I install is just getting stuck in logo loop.
How can I make TWRP to ask for the password again? I know the password. Please help.
I have a One Plus 6t international version rooted through Magisk. I was debloating some One Plus system apps this morning and removed something I shouldn't have.... now the reboot gets stuck on the loading screen, then boots into TWRP recovery. I'm trying to restore from backup but everything is encrypted and TWRP isn't asking me for a password to decrypt.
I don't have a pin or anything set on the phone at the moment
Tried the twrp decrypt <pin> command with the default password but it just says 'Failed to decrypt data'.
Anything I'm missing here or do I just to reformat and give up on the encrypted data?

Managed to decrypt the files by installing a different version of TWRP: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...overy-unofficial-twrp-touch-recovery-t3861482
Turns out I did not bother to do any backups...
Can copy all of the pictures and documents out though which was what I was primarily after.
So I updated magisk 23 --> 24.1 directly from the app, after reboot, wifi isnt working but data is. So I reboot again and now it asks for a decryption password which I dont know (i tried pin code).
I need help. I dont wanna lose all the data.+

Did you tell magisk to keep encryption and not to disable dm-verity when updating? This happens when your device was encrypted and a flash removes encryption data. Some time ago I saw a flashable zip for Orange Fox which allegedly decrypted data from recovery, but I think your best bet would be to format data

I was using phone as normal with orange fox recovery and root with magisk v21.xxx, and without encryption in phone (I am not sure if Orange fox has encrypted any data or partition?!)
Then I upgrade magisk to v25 through magisk manager app, and got the problem.

If you were using stock MIUI and used any means to lock your phone like fingerprint or pin, then you device was encrypted. You could try following this guide to see if you can disable decryption but i remember trying once and i had to format.

Thanks for your support.
Actually I have formatted device and try to install magisk again (without any password setup for device: pattern, pin, finger print) but the same trouble appear again.

Then you could try starting fresh. Make sure you are using latest OrangeFox. Format data (not just wiping) and install your rom. Then flash magisk apk (or zip) from recovery and reboot
