So, I am 1 unlucky in 1000 who has a tianma lcd panel and facing screen ghosting since one month after buying the Note 7. Is there any software fix for this? I heard Redmi note 4x has similar issue. It doesn't affect performence but unpleasing to the eyes. I am not looking forward to replace the lcd as the phone us still brand new. It is imported, so there’s no way to return it. Thanks in advance.
Same thing is happening to me, sadly... Don't think there's a way to solve this through software, as it's a hardware issue
Bought Redmi Note 7S (Lavander) Onyx Black 4GB/64GB Yesterday , Faced Touch Ghosting.
Edit : Requested For Replacement * From Flipkart.

Actually, I did a little goof. Turns out I have a BOE panel instead of Tianma which is good, but even on that panel, I still get some ghosting... so I can't imagine how bad it must be for the worst panels Guess that's what you get when you cheap out on a phone

Wouldn't I need to pay for the replacement? Or if covered under warranty as it's a manufacturing issue?
So basicly even if you replace the phone under warranty, you will get the same panel and the ghost screen will be there again after some use?
you can use this tips to modify the display color a little, to minimize the ghosting effect.
I have tianma with pretty nasty retention, and modifying the display kcal does the job.
**You need use custom kernel with kernel manager or simply a LOS-based ROM to apply this mod.
I have tianma, everything just looked fine, this is only "things" , not she or he , so for me just use it
Fix for now
I thought I was the only one. Bought this device from China and started having this issue after around 4 months.
The problem does not occur with pitch black wallpaper.
I did some research and found this app (Ghost screen).
It's not in play store.
https://apkhome.net/ghostscreen-1-0-1-4/
I do not face the problem anymore.
Try it. And let us know.

Solution in Pixel Experience Rom
I found a workaround in the pixel experience rom without any apps .
Go to Settings > Display > Live display > Colour Calibration > and set all 3 values to 92.
Weird. I have a Tianma display, yet I am not experiencing any noticeable ghosting. Maybe your screen is faulty.

Hi all,
Half an hour ago, just noticed that the half of the screen is brighter than the other half.
Checked the web but could not find an answer.
Anyone having the same issue?
I've just realized that when i dial *#0*# and select "black" from the main screen, no problem at all.
Seems weird, no solution or similar experience on the web yet.
Edit: Before sending the device to the authorized service, I decided to flash a stock room and do a full wipe. Tadaa... The problem is solved...
I'm tech stupid & I'm having the same problem with half the screen brighter. I'm embarrassed to ask, but would you please tell me how to solve the issue in dumbed-down terms? Thanks in advance!
I can hardly believe that such screen issues can be solved with software.
Search for Samsung Amoled Display Color tint or look at my past threads about this issue. It's there since years, and comes from the manufacturing process! About one of 5 to 10 displays are good, the rest have issues most people don't recognize! The most common error is that the screen brightness and color tint is not even across the screen!
Put a few devices side to side, do the *#0*# and you will see that all screens are different! Some better, most of them worse...

Hi mate,
No need to be embarrassed.
First, make a backup of your device so as not to lose any files.
Second, download the latest rom from sammobile in accordance with your country.
Third, download the latest odin
Fourth, flash the rom using the odin and then make a full wipe.
That's how i have solved my issue and have had no problem since.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Try flashing the stock firmware. If the screen is okay, it's the Rom (although highly unlikely). If the screen stays the same, it's a hardware issue

Hey guys! My device was having screen burning problem so I went to the service centre and they replaced it with the new display panel. The recent one was tianma and now they put ilitek one.It is working fine but it has very warm screen temperature,it's just unbearable.I tried many applications to apply blue tint to my screen but they just mess up the colours while correcting the whites.
So is there something we can do to improve the display quality?
And is there anyone who faced the burning problem with ilitek displays,I searched everywhere but only tianma displays seems to be affected.
(To know about the display vendor dial - *#*#64663#*#*)
I have ilitek and its not having issues.

Don't have another Mi A1 with another LCD vendor to compare it with!
I have 2 devices, one with Ilitek and other one with Tianma, comparing those two the one with Ilitek has more natural colors, for me the one with Tianma screen is too cold.
I dunno about the quality of your lcd panel, but mine is ilitek too, and i find the colors just fine. Yes it's a bit on the warm side, but it's ok. Color accuracy and contrast is good too.
Actually i only notice its warm tone when viewed side by side another phone with colder tones
How much does ilitek LCD panel costs?

Hello XDA members,
I have noticed weird behaviour on Mi A1 stock Oreo.
Ghost images from previous notification and status icons is seen on status bar.
Initially I thought its launcher(official nova prime) issue and changed it(now lawnchair) but issue remains same.
Did anybody else also noticed this(attached image)?

That's screen burn in. You won't see them in the screenshot. Usually happens when you use your device with much more brightness, or you keep your screen on for a lot of time(usually more than 10 minutes).
If you don't do any of the above mentioned things, you should visit the nearest service center, because the screen might be faulty.
Its happens .. U can go to service centre and claim ur warranty. Nothing to worry. 2 of my friends already got it repaired. They changed lcd panel to something else. Both of them have Tianma display earlier
If is it a Tianma display the chances are good to be burn in.

It's a brand. Most of them are colder tinted blue. EGGB brand is something more warm maybe yellow/green.
Type *#*#6484#*#* in dialer and go to" 1. Version Information". There you will see LCD: GFF, vendor: XXXXXXXXX
The XXXX thing is the brand.

Apparently my friend has tianma too. But he isn't experiencing burn in. Can he still get his display changed?
Edit: I visited the service center with him. Those guys were noobs and didn't even know what a screen burn is. I explain them what it is. I even gave them a live demonstration, which worked and gave the burn. They still insisted that it's a software problem.

This is not as 100% sure that someone will have the problema with Tianma display but only more probable. I think that your friend or anyone have to use the smartphone as usual and if the problem shows up in warranty period then go change the display. Don't care too much about it because is more probable don't have it.

Hey there, I've recently installed AEX 5.8 and after a few days of usage, I realised that my phone got 2 dead pixels. They're visible as extra white spots only on white background. I was using curved substratum layer to make display edges rounded, could it be because of that?
Any help or feedback is appreciated and would be beneficial for other users....

The only thing curve could have done was burn in your screen which is easy to fix on an lcd display
When I bought my psp I got a dead pixel and the device was new... It happens sometimes especially on cheap display or badly tested ones before they put it in the device
You can't do anything for it expect maybe use the warranty

After having read some information, here is what it is about 2 problems encountered and quoted.
The screen tint defect has also been reported repeatedly by other buyers on Twitter and Reddit.
Some users (especially in the first smartphones received) had the misfortune to get "defective" models. These people have been unlucky enough to have their screens turn green, while for others it's dead pixels around the front camera.
These failures seem to affect mainly models from India at the moment. It could be that this problem is localised, as the Indian units are distributed locally and do not affect other markets
This problem of green tint on screens is not uncommon and has already been encountered on other smartphones with an OLED screen. They are sometimes subject to this problem which has been corrected in the past via simple updates.
The best solution if the problem persists is still to contact the brand for a replacement model.
I already contacted but am still awaiting an answer. Let's hope for the best.

First of all, that F3 with dark theme looks absolutely awful, wouldn't use it as a benchmark
Secondly, looks like it really is a local problem. Have not heard any problems in EU, my phone arrived yesterday and the display panel is good

That's too bad. I quess there is more variations with the panels because the manufacturer is not as good as Samsung.
If I'm nitpicking, I can also see some dirty screen effect in grey colors at very low brightness levels. But that is a minor setback. If the phone feels 90% of the time as a 800€ phone and 10% as a 350-400€ phone, I'll take it.
