Apps loads very fast courtesy of UFS 2.1 storage. Game loading times are so fast that you don't get to read game tips during loading screen.
Data transfer speeds are very good. My last device used to stutter while transferring data to or from SD card and internal. No storage related lags here. Good storage is must for seamless user experience on Android.
Ufs 2.1 is a blessing. Every app opens in a blink.

Super fast.. Kirin 970 is doing a job very well..
I'm guessing this uses eMMC?
Kirin 970 is showing its power and I havent observed any app launch delays.

No, it's using UFS 2.1. I was surprised too, this really is a "cheap" flagship.
5 stars for app launch speed
This is an easy 5 stars. The app launch speed is never something I've had to think about, which is a good thing.

Speed is excellent, apps load the moment you click them. Dont have any real world numbers for speed but they is videos out there showing the U12 beating the iphone X and S9 on overall speed.
The camera app takes a full 2 seconds to load which I'm not too happy about. It also switches to the front/back camera slowly too. Don't expect this on a 2018 phone. I have a 2 year old nephew I want to take pictures of but this is sloooow and I miss catching him do cute things!

Hello, I'm creating an account in order to give my real-life review of this phone. The previous phones I had were HTC One M8, LG G6.
Please keep in mind that I am a light user.
I do not play games on the device and the most used apps on my phone are
- Messages
- YouTube
- Outlook
- Firefox
- Microsoft Excel
Apps launch very quickly, and the animations are very fast. But it is obviously slower than a Snapdragon 845, for example. Reloading a feed such as YouTube may take a little bit of delay.
Nothing that I can consider annoying.

Err well I don't care much for app launch speed but One game I tried out recently was Black Desert Online for mobile which is a pretty hefty download and this Xperia handset handles the data and game like a boss. Honestly didn't know what to expect but got very pretty visuals loaded fast. I didn't benchmark it but I did also get the same game runnning on a Kindle 8 HD which is much lesser hardware in a tablet but as long as you don't install anything else it will install and run.

Apps seem to open smoothly and quickly without any noticeable lag.
However, I have noticed (mine's the 4GB/64GB global variant) that there is, sometimes, after continuous usage and app switching, a stutter, or jitter, when switching apps.

it's software optimization . If the Xiaomi.EU makes a build for it or pixel experience . You will notice huge difference [emoji12]

Not very fast because of emmc. But for lighter app it launches instantly. But for heavy multitasking it's not ideal.
