Possibly bricked my device. Shows as No bootable A/B slot - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Recently unlocked my bootloader and attempted to root my Moto X pure. Things were going well until I attempted to flash recovery image. Now I cannot flash images because in fastboot mode I am told that "boot" is not a recognized partition name.
Attempting to return to original stock image I get errors saying "Preflash validation failed". Any help?
I am able to access it via fastboot, serial number comes up. Can unlock and lock bootloader, but attempting to flash anything gives me one of those two errors.

[TIL] fastboot could be the reason for stucking at warning bootloader screen

Hello guys, I wanted to share something I've discovered so that others will not repeat my same mistake. And yes I'm a noob
A little backstory
I have an Asian XT1033 Moto G, bootloader unlocked, rooted and using Faux's kernel. So, after reading some feedback about 5.1.1 for XT1033, I've been tempted to flash 5.1.1 over my 4.4.4.
The problem
I've downloaded the stock 5.0.2 Asia XT1033 firmware in img format, and proceeded to flash them via fastboot using Minimal ADB and Fastboot. (I tried to fastboot flash 5.0.2 stock firmware directly from 4.4.4 stock). Everything was fine, after flashing each part, Okay messages were shown. After rebooting, my Moto G booted and showed the usual "Warning Bootloader Unlocked" screen. EXCEPT, the "Warning Bootloader Unlocked" screen stayed for more than 10minutes......., I've spent the whole midnight trying to reflash back using 4.4.4 stock Asia firmwares (same stucked at warning screen), baffled, googling for similar problems encountered in hopes of a solution, but found nothing. The next day something came to my mind and I googled "the difference between fastboot and mfastboot" which led me to Mark_Venture's website, and after some reading, I first facepalmed myself hard and then screamed Eureka with my mind
What's causing this
To rephrase Mark_Venture, "fastboot is compatible with almost all Android devices, but is limited on how big the size of files it can actually flash, while Motorola have their own version called mfastboot which surpassed the file size limits of the usual fastboot", so basically when I tried to flash via fastboot, the command I've typed was "fastboot.exe flash partition gpt.bin" which is wrong and should be "mfastboot.exe flash partition gpt.bin", so basically I've used the usual fastboot.exe instead of Motorola's own mfastboot.exe. This probably explains why all the other files from the stock firmware are successfully flashed, EXCEPT the system.img_sparsechunk.0123 files due to their average sizes easily exceeding 256MB (my own take here, correct me if I'm wrong). This probably explains why rebooting after flashing via fastboot doesn't work because the system imgs are not flashed, and hence the phone get stucked at "Warning Bootloader Unlocked" screen because there is no ROM to boot to.
Alternatively, actually much more easier
You can also flash using fastboot a custom recovery, then boot into the custom recovery and either adb push or using USB OTG to install ROM zips. Personally I've used USB OTG with PhilZ Touch Recovery to install custom ROM and my phone finally boots.
TL;DR
Use mfastboot.exe instead of fastboot.exe when flashing via fastboot
Big credits to Mark_Venture and his website

Great find. TIL for me too

Help! ([BOOTLOADER] image not signed or damaged)

I unintentionally skip the "format data" link and the all step, so the code unlock the bootloader but I cant flash the recovery it says "[BOOTLOADER] image not signed or damaged", the phone works but I cant flash anything, any ideas?
What device do you have, what (stock) firmware do you have on the device and what firmware are you trying to flash?
Hello is a stock Moto G5 Plus with 7.0 android and I am trying to flash the Vanche's Modified TWRP or the 3.1.2 version but I keep getting the same message "[BOOTLOADER] image not signed or damaged", is like if the BL relock itself.
I think that's a standard warning from the bootloader - TWRP is not signed software, which fastboot expects. However, as your bootloader is unlocked, it'll allow the flashing of TWRP, just with the warning message alerting you to the fact you're not flashing Motorola firmware via fastboot.
1)Do you see [OKAY] appear when you flash the TWRP?
2)After flashing TWRP, do you boot to recovery to fix TWRP? Easiest way is after flashing, on your device (if still in the device bootloader), use the volume keys to select 'Recovery' and press Power to confirm.
The instructions here suggest you need to boot to recovery after flashing to fix TWRP as the recovery, else the stock recovery may overwrite TWRP. https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/how-to/how-to-root-moto-g5-plus-t3579659 or https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5-plus/how-to/how-to-how-to-supersu-moto-g5-plus-t3587684
ok thanks, I will try that, so skipping the "format data" thing has nothing to do with it?
I'm not sure - though you'd have to unlock your bootloader so your data would be wiped anyway as part of the unlock, and that you'll have to decrypt your data. Perhaps someone with more experience in flashing on G5 plus devices can comment.

(Solved) Please!!! XT1680 Bootloader locked: BOOT UP FAILED

To summarize, I have a Moto G5 Plus, with locked bootloader and I decided to update a ROM STOCK and made a simple mistake by forgetting the OEM unlock option in advance in the configuration menu. An error occurred on the way and tried to return to the stock. Now, when the phone boots up, it enters the boot loader (which is locked) and displays a startup error message that states that you must use the Software Repair Wizard.
trying to enter the recovery gives a code:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode [Secure]
Fastboot Reason: UTAG "bootmode" configured as fastboot
failed to validate boot image
ERROR: Failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot
Boot up failed
Is there a known solution or force a recovery to work?
Thanks to all
Hello;
I found the solution, download the latest firmware from your cell phone, download it just unzip the zip and look for the files: gpt.bin and bootloader.img, those 2 ctrl + c and files go to the folder where they downloaded ADB tools and paste the files there , then execute the steps to open command window here and execute the following:
fastboot flash partitiongpt.bin
fastboot bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
and it is ready to install the downloaded rom.

Problem with the Moto G4 plus Startup Failed

Okay, i have a problem with the moto G4 plus, the device don't start the system
Starts in the fastboot mode and say "Startup failed"
"Failed to verify hub image boot
Failed to validate boot image
Failed to pass validation, backup to fastboot"
Please help
My oem is locked and i tried to flash the entire system with adb but it's impossible
What firmware did you have prior to your device failing? What results do you get from trying to flash the firmware (I'm guessing you're flashing via fastboot/the bootloader)?
did you update the phone to 8.1 after which this has occured

Need to enter edl with only fastboot

So, I bricked it. All I have is fastboot. It thinks it's locked after I messed with twrp. Partition table is gone, I think, flashing another one is declined due to locked bootloader. The device is unrecognizable in lmsr, thus unable to flash. Deep flash seems to be the only option, but how do I get to there? I'm new with this phone, just 2 days old now. Is possible to open the device up
EDIT: the trick is fastboot oem blankflash
