Any way to make the att v35 work on verizon? It should have the hardware is it a firmware update ? I'm a bit noon level at all this custom Rom stuff. I need some directions if I am able to do something please
From my understanding, even flashing an AT&T model to USA unlocked firmware does NOT carrier unlock the phone. You have to get the carrier unlock code from AT&T.

Flashing to NAO carrier unlocked should give it CDMA bands, if V35 can be Frankenstein'ed like V30.

It's probably carrier unlocked, but hasn't been flashed to NAO carrier unlocked firmware so it still has the AT&T V35 bands.

You need to use Dev Patched LGUP to cross flash to NAO carrier unlocked firmware.
You do NOT need to root. We do not have any custom ROMs for V35.
You just need the Dev Patched LGUP from one of the other threads and cross flash to NAO (North American Open Market) firmware over your AT&T V35 model.

Flash in Refurbish mode. Then Master Reset for good measure:
Master Reset -- using buttons:
1. Unplug phone and turn it OFF.
2. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons.
3. When the LG logo appears, quickly release the Power button only -- then immediately press Power button again, while STILL pressing the Volume down button until you see the screen to select Yes to erase and reset everything.
4. Release both buttons so you can make your choices.
With your device powered off, press and hold the Power button and Volume Down buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.
When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while keep holding the Volume Down button.
Let go of the buttons when the onscreen menu appears.
When you see the option to Delete all user data (including LG and carrier apps) and reset all settings message prompt, press the Volume Down button to highlight Yes.
Then press the Power button to reset the device.
Wait until the reset is complete then reboot your device. If it’s able to boot up successfully, proceed with the initial setup.

It's all fairly easy. Most people breeze right through this. But if you have any problems, go through this list:
* Make sure you in download mode BEFORE opening the patched LGUP file.
This is at the top of the list as some people forget to do that. The remainder are in no particular order. If that doesn't work,
* Try different USB port,
* Try different USB cable,
* Try different computer.
* Reinstall LG mobile drivers on your PC.
* Reinstall dev patched LGUP again.
* Reboot the computer.
If you ask for help, that's the list of items we are going to give you anyway.

For future updates, you'll flash future NAO KDZ releases via this same Dev Patched LGUP -- but next time you can use "Upgrade" mode instead of "Refurbish". It's like a manual OTA and will save your data.

@ChazzMatt,
That's what I love about DEV patched LGUP--It let's you bend the rules and do some things that would normally require root access, specifically:
--DUMPing of any partition, allowing for data backup and recovery, even on encrypted partitions, since you can also dump the encrypt partition.
--Cross flashing .kdz's from other variants utilizing the same hardware
and
--Flashing only specific partitions from a given .kdz
and I definitely agree that CHIPERASE and BOARD DL are to be avoided--
The most useful options besides REFURBISH and UPGRADE are DUMP and possibly PARTITION DL
Sorry for inserting my two cents into your thread.

Hi.All.I have cross flashed LG v40 Hong Kong version Rom Android 9 with the Korean Android 10 using lgup.
THE Rom was installed but I lost radio.no signal. So then on the advice of a friend I flashed partition dl modem a and modem b from a European version 9.and when the phone rebooted it shows security warnings and says all slots are unbeatable. Any way to put oh in fastboot mode so that lgup can identify.Any easy way out.thx

First of all, these are LG V35 forums but that's fine I guess since the V35 and V40 are same exact when it comes to how to unbrick. You can't mix Android 9 and 10 like that, no wonder you got bricked. At this point, even if somehow you get into LG UP, make sure you don't use any options in LG UP or any other tool that you don't know about. Lot of people tend to use options like 'chiperase' thinking it will fix the phone but they make matters worse and permanently loose their IMEI and EFS partition info.
For LG UP you need download mode, not fastboot mode. Are you able to get to download mode by holding volume up button while the phone is turned off and by plugging in the USB cable that is connected to the computer? I think you should still be able to get into download mode even if phone can't boot but If you can't get into download mode this way and can't boot into android, the next option will be using QFIL/QPST by putting phone into EDL mode. Since the process of unbricking will be same for both V35 and V40 phones, I will briefly guide you here for others with V35 to see this info but if you need further help, it would be best to post in LG V40 forums. The QFIL/QPST folder and V35 engineering bootloader from link below work for both V35 and V40 but rest of files such as firehose and actual partition files are different between the two models.
First go to the LG V40 unlock guide post here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/unlock-lg-v40-via-9008-root-t-mobile-t4042207
and download QPST, firehose and v35eng bootloader files attached to the above post and thank the OP. You can just follow that guide as if you want to unlock bootloader but basically you are going to put phone in EDL mode using that guide so you can run QFIL and access partition table using partition manager and flash the files necessary for download mode. All you need is bootloader and and laf partitions to get into download mode which are abl_a or abl_b (based on which slot you are booting from, slot a or b), and laf_a or laf_b. Important to note that laf_a and laf_b are same exact files actually, same is true for abl_a and abl_b. I am uploading the files for V40 on Mega as these were too large for XDA but if anyone needs them for V35 just post here and me or someone else can upload them:
https://mega.nz/folder/o2xEnCSb#W5icT64hASwKk67G9IngEQ
MD5s: abl_a: 3a9e506523e92b6a242af2e1cb5987fd, abl_b: 3a9e506523e92b6a242af2e1cb5987fd, laf_a: cf9edf4748f768cfa3c88ca362ff36b3, laf_b: cf9edf4748f768cfa3c88ca362ff36b3
After you download attached files, flash abl_a file to abl_a partition, then abl_b file to abl_b partition, flash laf_a file to laf_a partition and laf_b file to laf_b partition. You can use Xsavi's guide to put the phone in EDL mode, start partition manager, then use the option load image and flash the files to their respective partitions. I don't remember if these are from Oreo or Pie as I don't own V40 anymore but I think for unbricking purposes it shouldn't matter as you are going to flash a whole KDZ on top of these anyways. Once done, turn phone off, start LG UP on your PC, hold volume up button while you attach the USB cable to the phone and it should put the phone in download mode. Use partition DL and flash full KDZ either Oreo or Pie first before you try going to Android 10, best would be flashing Oreo first as some people have had problems going straight to Pie or Android 10.

You don't need to hold power button. Phone needs to be turned off. Hold volume up and plug in usb cable. Since you are in bootloop, keep holding volume up button (don't hold power button) and plug usb cable in. Once the bootloop cycle restarts it should go in download mode, just don't let go of volume up button until in download mode. If you still can't enter download mode, you are pretty much out of options and have to use EDL mode as i explained above to unbrick your phone.

Yeah if you can't enter download mode then in my opinion using QFil and EDL mode is probably the only way to go. You need to read the unlock guide by Xsavi, that i linked earlier: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-v40/how-to/unlock-lg-v40-via-9008-root-t-mobile-t4042207
You are not required to boot the phone in order to enter EDL mode but it does require lot of patience as you have to hold volume down and power button until phone screen turns off suddenly to reboot, rapidly start pressing volume up key while still holding the volume down and power button. While you do this phone needs to be plugged in with usb cable and you have to have QFIL window open. Once the phone enters EDL mode, the screen will be dark and blank, but it is detected in QFIL window, you know that you are in EDL 9008 mode.
Unbricking your phone will require a lot of reading, patience, and making sure you understand what you are doing. It seems complicated and overwhelming but trust me when you have all the files setup and are ready to go, the whole process takes like 5 minutes and is not so hard. Again, the key is reading the guides and steps multiple times before you proceed so you know exactly what you are doing.

Thanks im doing reading will getur expert advice soon
Also, factory reset will not help at this point because part of your rom is android 9 and other part is android 10. Erasing userdata and cache (factory reset) in itself will not fix that. What i don't understand though is that just flashing modem_a and modem_b from Android 9 should still allow you to enter download mode since you didn't alter bootloader or the laf partitions. In my opinion the phone should still be able to enter download mode even if it is bootlooping unless more changes were made to phone where bootloader and/or laf partitions were also altered. In any case, it doesn't matter anymore I guess.
Edit: Great, good luck, hope you get it unbricked!

Yes i didnt alter anything apart from the modem partitions thats it and dl mode unavailable.thats the issue.so does this necessarily mean that booting into qfil is the ultimate solution
Can you please tell me that i dont want bootloader unlocked just want dl mode..so for this do i have to follow the whole guide or just part of it to enter edl mode...pls enlighten
Hi sir. I have bootlted into qualcom 9008 mode used qfil and flashed the required partitions which were successfully done. I was trying to update with LGUP application for firmware update but didn't success, so I removed the USB cable and pressed Volume down and power button to restart. But it went straight into Firmware Update and LGUP application can't find the port.
So, my phone is stucking in Firmware update screen, please help me how to restore the firmware and get out from Firmware Update screen, many thanks and greatly appreciated.
Hold the power button until you get a black screen. Download LG Mobile Support tool and the LG Drivers. Plug USB In and then hold the Power + Volume Up key. On your screen, click Upgrade Recovery. From there, you can do a factory reset through download mode of your phone.
Enter download mode and connect the phone in the PC. Download LG brige and open it. When you are inside the programe you will see a window of Software update enter here and there is an option that is for bad installation otas (to reinstall and correct errors). Use this and I think this will handle.
Another option I think is using LG Up you will see your device in download mode. Try to enter download mode and see if this works also.
Thanks both - I ran into a similar situation. I pulled down both the 11a and 14a KDZ files, and used UpperCut and LGUP to flash first the 14a and then the 11a image. Unfortunately in both cases after LGUP does its thing, I'm getting the LG logo, followed by fastboot screen.
I cannot reboot to get past it, and I cannot flash recovery (it says the boot loader is locked). I cannot flash the Unlock.bin from LG because apparently the KDZ re-enabled the software lock prohibiting bootloader unlocks.
So I'm suck with a phone that will only boot into fastboot, stock recovery or into download mode, and I cannot figure out how to get back to something functional. I've tried reflashing with LGUP - that doesn't work. And the LG Bridge "Update Error Recovery" option gives an error "Connect your mobile device to the USB Port" even though it is, and the LG USB drivers are installed.
Would appreciate any pointers someone could offer.

I have the same issue - I was on Lineage os and flashing the OTA update caused bootloop to recovery. So I wanted to flash back to stock using LGUP and 14A. I did that before without issues.
This time though all installed fine but after reboot the phone immediately goes to fastboot, exactly as described above. I just spend several hours trying to fix it but with no results. The LG Bridge won't recognize the phone no matter what I do in Windows (tried 3 different PCs). On a Mac it will start connecting and will end up saying "you need to enable MTP connection".
From what I garther the stock rom flashed fine - the factory reset works, even shows "erasing data", the LG UP recognizes the phone as 14A (I tried 11A, 13A too - seems to install fine but goes immediately to fastboot after reboot).
The only thing I realized I did different when flashing the stock rom with LGUP was not using the original LG USB cable. But reflashing with original cable makes not difference now - still going to fastboot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Have you guys been able to do the Upgrade recovery in the LG support tool? Did it work? It starts fine for me but after downloading the recovery file I always get and error, see the screenshot.
I was able to grab the kdz file and tried to flash it with LGUP but still the same thing. It seems like it flashes fine but after reboot it immediately goes to fastboot

Sadly I'm in the same boat as well. I'll pull some of their error messages I've gotten with LG Flash Tool this afternoon. I've tried 2014 and 2017. Both to no success.
I suspect it may be something with the /misc partition. Im going out on a limb, but I'm guessing that the AOSP and Lineage ROMs may touch misc. That partition may have some key identifiers for the LG tools. And the KDZ doesn't have a misc partition embedded inside it.
I was hoping the kdz file I was able to grab from the Lg Support tool would be different from regular stock rom 14a that is available around the internet but it appears to be exactly the same file (based on the file size). My original hope was that the file would support "Refurbish" option in the LGUP tool but it only works with "Upgrade".
I wonder if the "Refurbish" option would fix this and re-flashed all partitions - if only we could find a kdz file that would work with the refurbish option. So far all files I tried (11a, 13a, 14a) only support the upgrade option.
Thanks for all of your helps, I used LGUP and WondersMobile application on the computer and LGUP can not see the port. I did un-install the WondersMobile and LGUP can see the port and finally upgraded to latest firmware.

I too am having same problem. I've tried all the images from 11A to 14A, all of them flash with no errors on LGUP and every time LGUP detects the phone as having the last version flashed. Unfortunately, the phone also boots to fastboot every time. Nothing else to add to your descriptions at this time I'm afraid...

I am absolutely positive my problem is at least in part due to a messed up /misc partition though. @gqo actually described what I did pretty thoroughly in his thread, albeit in a G5. Post #9 has the fix but it didn't work for me.
I've also stumbled upon a menu under the Firmware Update screen that I had never seen before and cannot fin any mention to... Would any of you guys know what it is for? It reads something like:
Code:
** SELECT MENU **
** Select : Power Key(Long) **
** Move : Power Key(Short) **
-> MA-USB(WIFI) DL
POWER OFF
PHONE INFO
BACK
Okay, I figured it out. The menu, at least the first option, appears to be for Wi-Fi firmware update. I wonder what file the phone actually downloads... And if it would be able to fix our phones. The only unprotected network I had in hand was a mobile hotspot in my not-so-LTE Nexus 5, so I got as far the firmware download start but didn't risk it on such a slow and unpredictable network. On top of that my Nexus 5 has also gotten pretty good at bootlooping, that's why I got this G6 in the first place. If anyone out there has a reliable unprotected network and nerves of steel it could be interesting to see if the outcome of this update is different from the LGUP one.
How do you access this menu?
What I started working on yesterday is trying to build a image file for the Qualcomm Flash Image loader and see if I can flash the phone using this tool... But I have never used this tool before, right now it does not detect my phone - I need to work on that + see if I can correctly build the image file from kdz. I found some youtube step by step tutorials so we will see. I will post update on the progress tonight or tomorrow.

I'm not sure if there's a better way to do it, but I access it by removing the usb cable after I successfully get in Download Mode. Then I'm not sure if there's any specific key combo, I've been randomly pressing the power and the volume down buttons and at some point I get into that menu. In the menu though, for some reason, I think I can only select an option if I long press both the volume down and power buttons. The "POWER OFF" option has come in handy because so far is the only way I can actually turn my phone off. The "PHONE INFO" hasn't worked for me yet. The menu also reacts when you add/remove the microsd card... I wonder if it can be used for something other than a WiFi firmware upgrade. I haven't had the chance to connect the phone to a computer to see how the device is recognized, if at all.
And that image you're working on sounds like a neat idea, I wish I could help but I'm afraid I wouldn't have the skill. I may be able to test though. Anyway, Godspeed!

I'll play around a bit and see if I can land on this menu. At this point I'll try anything. I'm on an iPhone until I get this fixed - so I'm motivated!
I can setup an open guest network off my main wi-fi this evening and see what I can find out.
EDIT Sorry, I tried playing around here, but I couldn't figure out how to get back into the the menu you uncovered. If you could give some instructions on how to do it, I'm happy to give it a shot on my device.
I was able to access the menu today...what worked for me was at the firmware screen unplug the usb cable and then press volume down and power button three times quickly. I tried to connect to a wifi and it does not really do anything. I think it just establishes wifi connection but it does not download anything on it's own - it's waiting for another connection.
Also I got stuck with building the image file from kdz, it has no information on partitions. At this point I decided to ship to LG for a quote and will see how much they will ask for a reflash.
I got as far as selecting a network and getting some sort of a download start screen, but I interrupted it right away so I wasn't sure the download would actually go through... Apparently it does not. If this menu has some sort of flashing capabilities though, it might be worth checking how secure it is. If someone can get it to download and flash a modded file perhaps there could be a chance of flashing a custom recovery or something... I'm thinking about those guys that have an unlockable bootloader (which we ironically also have now).
Anyway, all of this goes well beyond my skill so I followed your example and submitted a repair service request to LG. It'll take quite long but shipping is free, so I figured I'd give it a try. I'm assuming this is an easy fix with the right software tools, so I hope LG doesn't overcharge for it. I'm even half hoping they'll do it under the limited warranty... If I recall correctly unlocking the bootloader doesn't immediately void all warranty, there's room to prove the bootloader was never actually unlocked. And after all LG does say that once unlocked, it cannot be undone and our phones are, in fact, running stock firmware and have a locked bootloader.
Update: My phone was received today by LG. In LG's Track Repair page, the status briefly showed as Undergoing Diagnostic but quickly moved to Repair In Progress, it's current status. Given that LG was supposed to contact me in case the repair was not covered by the limited warranty, meaning that an extra fee would've to be paid, I'm assuming the phone will be fixed (if possible, that is) free of charge. I will update you guys again soon, but if anyone out there is still struggling with this issue I'd recommend considering sending the phone to LG.
I have the exact same problem. Please keep us in the loop of what happens to your phone with LG
My phone has been received by LG for this issue on 9/26. It quickly moved through diagnostic to "repair in progress" on the first day plus showed ETA back to me in 6 business days. Ever since that it's stuck in that mode, no update or contact from LG. I check the status every day - every day it says the same - ETA 6 business days. It's been a week and half now with no update. I kind of expected it's going to take 2-3 weeks but annoyed that they say 6 days ETA and then you don't hear from anyone for almost 2 weeks with no change in status.
Update #2: The status finally moved to Shipped To Customer. I haven't been contacted by LG yet, so I guess the phone could've been shipped fixed as much as it could've been shipped as is for being unfixable. Either way, I wasn't and most likely won't be charged. FedEx hasn't got an ETA for the delivery, but I'll let you guys know as soon as I get my phone back.
Edit: Got an e-mail from LG. It reads something like:
Defect: Software failure
Payment Type: NOT APPLICABLE
Repair Results: S/W upgrade (download)
Repair Cost: $ 0.00
Warranty Status: In Warranty
Tax: $ 0.00
Total: $ 0.00
I guess I got away with it, I hope you guys do too.

I ran into a bit of an issue and am stuck with a bootlooping G6 US997.
What got me into this pickle:
I unlocked the bootloader
I flashed TWRP successfully, by:
Running fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
Unplugging USB and holding Vol- and Power from fastboot, then lifting and re-pressing Power when the LG logo appeared
Hitting Yes, Yes
Being in TWRP and allowing modification of System
Formatting Data (Wipe > Format Data > Yes)
I installed the DM verity and encryption file so that it would boot
I wiped Cache/Dalvik
I rebooted into System
It booted successfully so I went back to TWRP and installed Lineage OS, Open Google Apps, and the Lineage SU addon
This booted successfully, so I went and with OEM unlock disabled booted into fastboot to see if I could get rid of the annoying orange screen at the start saying that the bootloader was unlocked
To do this, I ran fastboot oem lock, not seeing/ignoring the red text at top telling me to Please check "Enable OEM unlock" in Developer options.
I then rebooted with fastboot reboot and I encountered a red warning: "Your device has failed a routine safety check and will not boot." It is now in a bootloop at that screen, cycling between black, the LG logo, and the warning.
I managed to enter recovery mode (with the key-combo) and got the stock recovery "factory reset and wipe" option, which I had been previously getting when entering TWRP, so I selected "Yes, Yes" and then it went back into the bootloop, completely avoiding TWRP.
Where I currently am:
I can get into fastboot mode (Vol- with usb plugged in) and I can get into the factory reset mode which is the gateway into TWRP. I cannot get into TWRP, and I cannot flash anything, boot into any images, or unlock the bootloader ( Please check "Enable OEM unlock" in Developer options). If I could do that I think I can get it fixed.
My questions:
How can I do the OEM unlock without access to Developer Options? (I have the unlock file to flash, just need access)
Or How can I bypass the red warning page and boot into Lineage OS?
Any help would be appreciated, I really would like to get this working.

I've been trying to, I forgot to update the post though. I found the US99715a_05_0908 KDZ, and I installed Uppercut, LGUP, and the drivers from the Uppercut thread, but whatever I do it never recognizes the device. And when I go into download mode it quickly pops back out to the warning screen after about 10 seconds. After the warning it reboots in 10 seconds, I have a pretty small window.
I was thinking of trying LG Flash Tool 2.0.1.6, yet I haven't figured out how to use it yet. I may try more with Uppercut, maybe different drivers? If there were a way to keep it in download mode longer, that would really help. Thank you for replying, I've seen your name around the forums!

You can't, fastboot is a mode that allows many things but it's not a God-like mode where you can do everything.
By locking the bootloader while having unsigned partions flashed you have essentially hard bricked the device, and if the only way to flash stock signed partitions (lgup+Uppercut) doesn't work it means that you have to find a way to boot the phone in qhsusb9008 (usually by hardware) and try to flash a tot file, if there is one.
Sorry but is highly unlikely that you will able to recover your G6, hope to be wrong.

How might I go about doing this, or is there a chance I can actually access LGUP and have just been messing up so far? If there were a video of what using LGUP and Uppercut properly looked like, that would be really helpful.
Also, is there any hope of LG or a phone store with LGUP being able to fix this (for less than the price of a new G6)?

It depends on how much it'll cost to you a new G6, they could ask you maybe 200-250 bucks.

Go in fastboot with the phone connected to the PC, keep pressed vol- and power until the phones turn off in that exact moment leave those two buttons and keep pressing only the vol+ one, this should bring you in download mode, if it stuck then you could use LGUP and Uppercut, otherwise there is nothing software related that you can do, imho obviously

Guys, need help !!!
I have tried to install SEA oreo version on Indian phone via LGUP... Flash was successful (100%) but it got stuck on LG Logo..
Procedure followed for H870DS (IND)
1. Downloaded SEA Oreo KDZ File (H870DS20a_00_OPEN_SG_DS_OP_0518.kdz)
2. Installed LGUP... Made new Common folder inside C/Prog file/LG/Model
3. Extracted DLL file from KDZ & renamed it LGUP_Common.dll and kept in Common folder
4. Entered in download mode
5. Opened LGUP.. selected KDZ and Upgrade..
6. Boom.. 100% completed.. it has shown that phone is rebooting..
7. But then it got stuck on LG Screen
I cant access recovery now
I can open Hard Reset option (Vol down+Power) only.. Made hard reset but no use
I cant enter in download mode
I dont know if it is charging or not
It is not even switching off by pressing power button for long time
Pl help me...
---------- Post added at 08:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:30 PM ----------
it has anything to do with "Enable OEM unlock" in Developer options"
There is a way to enter download mode. Just hold down button and power button. Just when you see LG logo leave power button for a second. Push power button again and hold with down button. Now press yes twiche for the hard reset prompt. Now IMPORTANT, when screen goes black immediately press and hold up button. While holding up button plug usb cable into the PC. Now use Uppercut 1.0.0.0 and flash your kdz.
Same issue, Just that I was trying downgrade to Nougat. Oreo messed up my phone to the extent that, none of the sensors (including Fingerprint are not working). The load was a success, but after 1st restart it went into boot loop.
I only had USB Debug enabled in the DO before this issue, so it might work with the OEM unlock dissabled.
Software needed...
LG Bridge
Meathod...
Please charge the phone before this is done, at least 80%, will be better.
Connect the computer with LG G6 H870DS (Indian), might work for all models. "not tested"
If the USB debug is enabled, you will hear the USB disconnection and connection notification sound during bootloop
When you hear disconnection sound, press the "volume up key" until the Firmware Update mode appears
Once you are in Firmware Update mode, the USB connection will be stable (In bootloop, it keeps disconnecting)
Disconnect the USB cable
Start LG Bridge/Software Updates, connect when App asks to connect the phone
This will update you phone to the latest official software update..
This solution can work for all phones that have a hardware based menu to get into Firmware Update mode, definitely works on all LG phones to get out of bootloop. I have tested on LG G2, G4 and G6 Indian devices.
And a suggestion to all mates is, to enable USB debugging and the OEM unlock as soon as you get hands on your new devices. Always saves the hassle of running around the LG service center, its a big issue in India at-least. I love LG for its hardware quality but sadly LG smartphones have a bad history of software issues
After installing an unofficial build of Pixel Experience and having some issues with it i decided to flash my G6 back to firmware, but when tried doing it with LG UP i kept giving me Error messages about DLL's not matching each time i did it and it was weird to me cause i flashed it to firmware before with all the same files and it worked just fine, i tried LG Bridge but it won't install as it's stopping at 14%, my G6 is now on the Frimware Update screen, when i reboot it by pressing Volume Down + Power Button it shows the G6 Logo and boots straight back into Firmware Update, any ideas what im supposed to do at this point?

Have you fixed the phone ? If not I can provide you tommorow with the exact files you need to get your device working, but mainly you need for lg up the lg v40 dll so your device can be recognized and then you need a kdz file ( stock software ) that you care going to flash on your device.

and get the KDZ firmware specific or compatible to your phone from the lg firmwares website (just google it for the website link). You should still be able to enter download mode. Start LG UP on your PC and connect USB cable to the phone. then restart the phone by holding vol-down and power buttons, once the phone screen flickers and it starts restarting, let go of power and vol-down buttons and hold the vol-up button. You should now be back in download mode. Good luck.

This error is probably due to older dll, you are still using the older LG UP still installed on your computer. Remember, to use the Dev patched LG UP, you just unzip the file you downloaded and go inside the folder and doubleclick on the LGUPD.exe to start it.
If that doesn't work, need more information:
Did you uninstall all LG UP before installing Dev patched LG UP? Make sure you uninstall all LG UP from your PC and then use the Dev patched LG UP directly from the downloaded folder. Make sure you reboot the computer afterwards before trying. Try different USB cable if you have one. Try different USB port on the computer.
Make sure you are opening/using the LG UP you just downloaded. Which option did you pick in LG UP? Try Partition DL or Refurbish, both options if either works? Do not try any options that you don't know about, some options can delete everything on phone including IMEI information so don't try options such as chip erase.
What is your phone's model number and which kdz are you using? Does 0x2000 error give any more information on the popup?
If none of this works, post back here.

I've tried the provided dev lg up on a whole different pc, and that's the error im getting so im 100% sure it's not due to an older lgup, in the error message it shows that it's some kind of dll problem and i should install a new package .msi, i've tried different cables, ports, i did Partition DL & Refurbish, got 0x2000 both times
So I finally rooted my Oneplus 6t from t mobile. I bought the phone from swappa and it worked great. I installed a random rom and it bricked my phone.
I assume it is a soft brick since i can access adb mode but it requires me to power off the phone
and hold the volume keys along with the power button. Otherwise the phone will just boot up and
will be sutck in a continous boot loop. I then tried to fic this issue by using an msm tool found in
the xda fourms. I then entered recovery mode and perfomed a "wipe data/factory reset. I think it hurt more than it helped. Any suggestions on how to unbrick my phone?
I tried using alll three msm tools in this fourm.
when i use the msm tool (MSMDownloadTool 9.0v2) the update just stops after 4 secounds.
Also the update would fail if i were to use the msm tool (MSMDownloadTool 9.0v1 and MSMDownloadTool 9.0.13)
I have tried reinstalling the qualcom drivers but no luck.
I tried deleting the drivers and allowing windows to detect the phone nad download its own usb drivers
but it did not help.
i apologize if i post this in the wrong section. I am new here.

Okay so I open the msm tool. Then I have my oneplus 6t (t mobile) turned off. I hold both volume buttons and keep holding them while I connect the USB cable to the phone. Its basically in edl mode at this point. Then I press the start option on the msm tool. The bar fills up with green and completes itself. However a number appears that saids "4s" inside of the square. I assume that means 4 seconds left or completed in 4 seconds. My phone is still in edl mode at this time and will not boot up in any menu (normal.menu, boot menu/recovery mode). Unlesss I boot it manually.
And yes I tried a scenario where I held down both volume buttons, connected USB cord, and then let go. I also tried the scenario where I held both volume buttons, connected usb cord and kept holding the volume buttons until the process completed itself but I would get the same result. "4s"

Hi, Falzer. had all but given up and was prepared to head to T-Mobile to buy the 1+ 9 Pro (I almost wish I did not fix my phone... *BUT* I DID!
My issue occurred trying to flash a Magisk patched boot.img to my newly unlocked bootloader phone. I was following an article that alleged one could root the phone without TWRP. I will say this TWRP is your friend; don't dis "him". By the way, unlocking my phone wiped my data so always important to read the whole article first as it was mentioned in the NEXT step.
[Should be including the actual error here - it is found throughout these forums but I cannot recall the exact display. Basically, if you have an unlocked bootloader and then get to the CrashDump screen, follow from here:]
Retrieve the file, boot11.1.1.1.img and download from this thread/link:
OOS stable boot image and patched magisk boot image both for 11.1.1.1.
Leaving this here as i ended up boot looping from installing custom kernel, and it being a new release i was pulling my hair trying to figure this out. Flashed through fastboot with "fastboot flash boot_a XX.img, fastboot flash boot_b XX.img"...
forum.xda-developers.com
Do *NOT* mess with the other file to the right.
Hold all 3 buttons (2 volume buttons + power) and once/if you see Fastboot Mode, release the buttons.
Have ADB installed (you should be able to find plenty of directions for doing this).
From either PowerShell (or *maybe* CMD Prompt started as Administrator as I had been using this "successfully" for most functions):
fastboot devices
fastboot flash boot boot11.1.1.1.img
fastboot reboot
I could not believe my phone ACTUALLY booted (even with the McLaren animation intact; I'm sure one of the gurus here knows why) after all the failed attempts fooling around with MSM Download Tool [4.0] which almost EVERYONE swears by fixes/restores any brick. I understand ON ONE is forcing anyone to use any specific resolution; I am just trying to provide another last ditch effort.
EDIT/Caveat: I did not even check to see how old that thread above is, I believe late September and I had actually taken updates [via TMobile??] until the last one with a week to 10 days *but* that was probably wiped with the boot unlock so I do not know which "update" I got but figured I didn't have much to lose as I already had a "bad" version of a boot.img flashed anyway. Anyone with any technical explanations, feel free to comment. Thanks!

This method also will wipe your phone, so please back up your data. I also will disclaim any understanding as to why exactly this works, since this method was developed by someone else, I am just listing the instructions on how to use it. With that being said, understand your personal limits and read this entire guide before starting.
PrefaceI have seen dozens of posts asking for a Bootloader unlocking method for the OnePlus 8 5G UW (IN2019) and thanks to the attributed users at the end of this post, a method has been found. I will document the most straightforward way to unlock the bootloader here so you can install custom OSes, TWRP, and Magisk.
Part I: Prerequisites and initial setupTo follow this guide you will need
A Windows PC (running 7+)
Latest MsmDownloadTool and stock firmware for the OnePlus IN2019 - Link
OnePlus 8 IN2019 with latest stock software update and USB cable
Latest version of platform-tools - Link
The bootloader unlock.ops file - Link
Plug your phone into your PC using a USB 2.0 port (this is important, USB 3.0 has given me a lot of issues and just doesn’t seem to work all the time) and ensure USB debugging is enabled.
Extract the downloaded platform-tools zip and open the platform-tools folder in a command prompt, and Run adb devices and makes sure your device appears in the list.
Next, extract the OnePlus_8_Verizon_OxygenOS_11.0.zip and open up the MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe inside the instantnoodlev_15_O.01_210110 folder.
When the application opens, select “Others” under the User type dropdown and hit next. Leave this window and the platform-tools command prompt open.

Part II: Entering Qualcomm EDL mode and installing correct QDLoader DriverIn this section we will install the correct drivers to utilize Qualcomm's Emergency Download (EDL) mode. When you are in EDL mode, your phone screen will be completely black and it will only exit if you complete a flash or unplug it from your PC and hold volume up, volume down and power. To enter EDL mode from a powered off state, hold volume up and volume down and connect your phone to your PC.1. Return to the platform-tools command prompt, and type adb reboot edl and wait. Your phone should disconnect from the computer and then reconnect.
2. Open Device manager, and check for the device “Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008” or “QUSB_BULK_CID:xxxx_SN:xxxxxxxx” - if you see “Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008” under Ports (COM and LPT), skip to part III. If you see “QUSB_BULK_CID:xxxx_SN:xxxxxxxx” under Other Devices with a yellow triangle, then proceed to step 3.
Spoiler: QUSB_BULK_CID:xxxx_SN:xxxxxxxx (Proceed to Step 3)
Spoiler: Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (Skip to Part III)
3.
Spoiler: Windows 11
Open Settings, Go to Windows Update and Check for updates. After, Click Advanced options, Optional Updates and drop down “Driver Updates” Locate “Qualcomm Incorporated - Ports - 3/25/2016 12:00:00 AM - 2.1.2.2” in the list, and install it.
Spoiler: Windows 10
On Windows 10 - Open Settings, Go to Update & Security, Check for updates, Click “View Optional Updates” and select “Qualcomm Incorporated - Ports - 3/25/2016 12:00:00 AM - 2.1.2.2” and install it.
This should install the correct driver, replacing “QUSB_BULK_CID:xxxx_SN:xxxxxxxx” with "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" in device manager.
Spoiler: Correctly Installed Driver
Part III: Flash Stock FirmwareIn this section, we will flash the stock IN2019 Android 11 firmware. If you have any trouble with this process refer to the original guide on how to do this here.1. Return to MsmDownloaderTool and hit the Enum button. In the list, it should list the COM Port associated with the device. The status of connection should read “Connected”
Spoiler: MsmDownloadTool Connected
2. Click the “Start” button. This will flash the stock firmware, wiping your data. Make sure you have backed your data up at this point. It will take a few minutes, usually ~300 seconds. Once it completes, it will reboot into factory default android.
3. Close MsmDownloadertool and once you are back to android, unplug your phone and power it off.
Part IV: Unlock the bootloaderIn this section, we will flash the unlockable firmware and unlock the device for good.1. Inside the directory with MsmDownloaderTool V4.0.exe, there should be a file called “instantnoodlev_15_O.01_210110.ops”. Remove it from the directory, either by deleting it or moving it to another folder. Then take the unlock.ops file downloaded earlier, and drag it into the directory. It should be in the same folder as MsmDownloaderTool.
Spoiler: Directory before unlock.ops
Spoiler: Directory after unlock.ops
2. Reopen MsmDownloaderTool V4.0.exe and like before, select “Others” in the drop down, and click next. Leave the window open.
3. Hold in the Volume up and down buttons, then plug your phone back in. Keep holding the buttons until your phone connects to your PC as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008", like before. Check device manager to ensure that it’s connected correctly as a COM port. If it boots to android, power it off and try again.
4. Return to MsmDownloaderTool and click Enum. Make sure the phone is still displayed in the list under the associated COM Port.
5. Click start. The flashing should take about 15 seconds, and when complete, your phone should restart. It will display a message at boot saying “<!> The device is corrupt..” Do not panic, this is normal.
6. Unplug your phone and hold Volume Up, Volume Down and Power until the device reboots and let go once it shows the OnePlus Logo and “Fastboot Mode”. You should arrive at a screen that has “Start” in big green letters at the top, and “Fastboot mode” below it, with the very last item saying “Device state - Locked” in red text.
7. Plug your phone back into your computer, and open device manager. Look for the “Kedacom USB Device” category with “Android Bootloader Interface” under it. If this device is present, skip to step 9. If this device is not, proceed to step 8.
8. Go back to Windows Update, Check for updates again, go into Optional Updates and install “Google, Inc. - Other hardware - Android Bootloader Interface”
Spoiler: Optional Driver
Check device manager to ensure “Android Bootloader Interface” is present under Kedacom USB Device.
Spoiler: Kedacom USB Device
9. Return to your command prompt window open in platform-tools, and run fastboot devices and ensure your device is in the list.
10. Finally, run the command fastboot flashing unlock and on your phone, it should prompt you to confirm unlocking the bootloader. Once complete, it should reboot into Android.
11. Shut the phone off again, and then Hold Volume Up, Volume Down, and Power and let go when the OnePlus logo and “Fastboot mode” shows up on screen. If the final item in the list says “Device State - Unlocked”, Congrats! You have successfully unlocked your bootloader. You can follow your custom OS’s installation guide from here.
Part V: Troubleshooting, Notes, and Attributions
Spoiler: If your MSM tool gets stuck on "Sahara communcation failed" when trying to flash.
Unplug your phone, and hold Power, Volume Up, and Volume Down. It should reboot into fastboot mode. Using the volume keys, navigate to the "Power off" option and hit the power button to confirm. Then holding Volume Up and Down, plug your phone back into your PC and try flashing again.
Any attempt to use MsmDownloadTool after the unlock will cause the device
to become locked again. You can unlock again by repeating the steps above.
Attempting the unlock process while running android 10 will result in a
crash at bootup. Update your phone to the latest update before starting.
USB 3.0 has thrown some obtuse errors when trying to use this process, so I highly recommend using a USB 2.0 port if possible.
If you want to flash back to stock firmware again (relock bootloader), you have to first flash this file (stock.ops) and then flash the bundled stock firmware. It will give a mismatch error if you do not.
You can only have one .ops file in the MsmDownloadTool directory at a time. You'll get an error if there are multiple files.
If for some reason, you run into an issue or skip a step by accident, leave a comment and I will try to help as much as possible. This is my first XDA guide and I just wanted to compile something that would have saved me hours of trial and error.

It does. If you already have Android 11, just save and store your phone data, factory reset, boot into EDL, connect and start the tool. If it runs an error, DONT stop the download. Press the POWER + VOLUME UP + VOLUME DOWN buttons at the same time and hold it until it reconnects. It takes a few seconds. Once it reconnects you should see it fully load. I didn't see the need for stock firmware file unless I needed to reflash my stock after ****ing up (I bricked it once or twice), and tbh it's not even the one I used to reset my phone. I just unlocked my BL a few hours ago. It works, I promise

Right click the link and open in new window, than refresh the blank page it opens. That will trigger the download.

It worked for me. It was straightforward, and it was really easy to figure out. I kept getting an error during the parameter update when I used the included firmware, so I just flashed the Unlock.ops file and carried on. I had a dumb moment bc I didnt actually read it fully at first, so I freaked out and thought that I'd bricked it lmao. But all in all, it was good man. Good instructions, and you gave examples that helped me out when I was confused. Good job! Well worth the wait

From my understanding, it messes with the param essentially tricking the phone into thinking it's not from Verizon.

Fantastic! Actually I have a OnePlus 8 T-mobile. Did you modify the Msmdownloadtool to allow this process going? Can you help allow msmdownloadtool to flash global roms to the T-mobile/ Verizon variant so that we maybe can unlock the second sim function?

The MsmDownloadTool did not need to be modified at all, you just had to swap the included .ops file (Stock firmware) with the unlock.ops in the directory, and it'll flash it on. As for the second question, I'm not really sure how I could help. If really would like my help, I'd be happy to assist, just contact me on Discord (Mason.#6969) or Telegram (message me on xda and i'll give it to you).

No. It just unlocks the bootloader so installing a different ROM is possible. What you install is up to you.

Yes. As long as your device is unlocked (60 days after initial purchase from Verizon) then it will work with any SIM.
